Aoi Murasaki is a Jōnin from the Murasaki Clan's Main and Branch House. He is a former ANBU body-guard of the Third Hokage known as, The BellFlower of Death, because of the poisonous aroma released from his flowers. During the New Era, he becomes a member of Team Fue.
Background[]
Early Life[]
Aoi was born to a Branch Family in the Land of Vegetables. His father was a member and the Main house, while his mother was a member of the Branch House. He and his sister were born with high chakra capacity, dictating they would become shinobi. However, their clans didn't allow children of different houses to learn NInjutsu. Soon after, they move to Konoha.

Aoi and the Third Hokage
During the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's Attack, Aoi and many of Konoha's other young ninja were prevented from helping defend the village, his parents are killed during the nine-tails attack. He is later raised by his older sister. After her death, Aoi was selected to join the Thirds Hokage's Personal ANBU guard. Hiruzen eventually started investigating a number of disappearances throughout Konoha. He followed a lead provided by Aoi, which ultimately led him to discover that Orochimaru was behind it all. Hiruzen was dismayed not only by Orochimaru's role or that he was experimenting on those he kidnapped, but also his reasons: to create an Eternal Youth and Immortality Technique. Aoi attempted to apprehend Orochimaru, but was defeated. Aoi helped stop Danzō's plans to assassinate The Third Hokage and, the following day, personally lured out the assassins with Kakashi.
Years later, Konohagakure, though having managed to repel the invading forces, was also heavily affected by the invasion as well, losing many of its ninja forces and its Third Hokage. Because the village is now without a leader, the village elders approach Jiraiya, one of the Third Hokage's former pupils, and ask him to become the Fifth Hokage. Jiraiya declines the offer, saying that another of the Third's pupils would be better suited for the job: Tsunade. Because Tsunade's whereabouts are unknown, Jiraiya offers to go and find her with the stipulation that he be allowed to bring Naruto Uzumaki. The elders agree and, after Jiraiya's promise of teaching him a new jutsu, so does Naruto, and so the two head out to find Tsunade. Aoi was assigned to monitor Jiraiya's location at all times.
Aoi makes a decision to retire from active duty
When they get back to Konoha, the villagers start making preparations to officially place Tsunade into office. Aoi visited the villages memorial, where he has a conversation with Kakashi Hatake. The 2 spoke of Aoi's recent nightmares about his sister. Aoi eventually retired from ANBU and opened a Medical supplies and Flowershop in the Land of Vegetables. However, a dangerous group of ninja called the Janin conjured a coup d'état which resulted in the death of that lands daimyō. They then began their search for the heir, Haruna, who had fled the country. Unknown to them, Aoi had snuck in and free'd her. He then left her with Kikunojō and Yurinojō, posing as part of a caravan to avoid being targeted, and changed her appearance. Later after being crowned daimyō, Haruna asked Aoi to stay and guard her but he returned to active duty in Konoha. He stated his "Will of Fire" burned too strongly

Aoi is a tall man with long bright lavender hair, light blue eyes and really brown fair skin. By Part II, his hair is waist-length. During the New Era, Aoi's bangs frame his face.
Personality[]
Aoi thinks very highly of his own assassination skills. He enjoys combat even when facing particularly strong opponents.
Abilities[]
Aoi has a quick reaction time, honed reflexes, and great physical strength and speed. Aoi has a powerful sense of smell, surpassing that of a ninja hound. By concentrating his chakra to his nose, he can increase his sense of smell a thousand fold, allowing him to easily distinguish people by their scent. It can clearly determine the physical condition of an individual, even from a considerable distance.
Perfume Release[]
Perfume Release allows the user to create different perfume clouds used for poison, tiredness, and other effects. Users can expel perfume clouds of different colors, the usual clouds being pink. Using Perfume Release Aoi can infuse his chakra into flowers that he delivers to his targets. This is is preferred usage for assassination.

Once they smell the flowers, whatever specific fragrance used, will take effect. The flowers' scent is strong enough to, with enough time, seep into victims' other belongings, keeping them entranced even if the flowers are discarded.
Kenjutsu[]

Aoi is highly proficient in kenjutsu, gaining praise from Hayate in that regard. He is widely renowned as a master of Iai — a style of swordsmanship which involves the user rapidly unsheathing his blade to slash the enemies, and then re-sheathing it after completing the attack. He uses a custom long katana into his fighting style. He can easily counter a barrage of attacks with a single swipe of his blade and just as effectively attack from behind himself surprising his opponent.

Prologue[]
Past Arc: The Locus of Konoha[]
Aoi protecting the Third Hokage from an intruder
Years later the leaders of Konoha had suspicions that there was a spy within their midst and Aoi was assigned with the task of finding out who that person was. Later, Naruto (disguised as Kisuke Maboroshi) breaks into a meeting involving Konoha's security system and accuses Sabiru of being a spy. When Sabiru says that the real Kisuke is dead, Naruto escapes with Kakashi and Sabiru in pursuit. At some point in the chase, Kakashi caught Naruto, and gave Naruto a chance to prove Sabiru guilty of the murders of Kisuke and his wife. When Sabiru confessed to Naruto that he did kill the two, Aoi appeared, ready to arrest him, but was promptly taken out by a hidden Kabuto Yakushi.
Part I[]
Chunin Exam[]
Hiruzen gives Aoi Chunin Exam invites
Hiruzen calls together the village's jōnin team leaders and informs them that Konoha will be hosting the next Chūnin Exams, an opportunity for their genin-charges to be promoted to chūnin. He asks that those jōnin assembled who believe their students are ready for the challenge of the exam submit their students' names. He begins with the team leaders of the Academy's most recent graduates and is surprised that all of the Rookie Nine are deemed suitable by their instructors; he agrees to allow them to enter despite Iruka's protests.
Aoi finds a dead Hayate
In the anime, after Kabuto Yakushi killed the Anbu stationed at Konoha Hospital which were guarding Sasuke Uchiha, Aoi and two other Anbu rendezvoused at the hospital and met with the Third Hokage and Kakashi. Afterwards, Hiruzen assigned Aoi the task of tracking down Kabuto. The following morning, he and his Anbu squad discovered Hayate's corpse after he was killed.

Aoi's perfume release defeats multiple Oto-Nin
During the final rounds of the Chūnin Exams, Aoi stayed in the box seat with the Third Hokage. He kept the Third informed about what was going on and communicated the Third's wishes to the other ninja involved with the exams. When the invasion of Konoha began, Aoi was attacked by the Sound Four, disguised as the Fourth Kazekage's bodyguards, to keep him from helping the Third Hokage. Despite being wounded, he was later healed and helped evacuate civilians. After the civilians of the village were evacuated, his squad engaged the enemy. He starts fending off invading Otogakure forces. The fighting rages on until Aoi and his fellow defenders eliminate all invaders in the area except for Kabuto and Baki, who opt to flee rather than continue fighting. The Konoha defenders and the others then converge on the site where the Third Hokage fought Orochimaru, but discover that he's died in battle.

Akatsuki Suppression Mission[]
Aoi was part of the Nijū Shōtai, tasked to find out information about Akatsuki. His team was sent to one of the organisation's hideouts which was infiltrated by them. However, their research bore no fruits as none of the S-rank criminals were present.
Pain's Assault[]
Aoi distracts The Deva Path with his Perfume Release
When Pain's assault on Konoha begins, Chōza forms a team that includes Aoi to scout the village in search of enemies. They are drawn to the site of Kakashi's battle with Pain. Chōza and Chōji crush the Asura Path as they arrive and then turn their attention to the Deva Path. The Deva Path defeats much of the team with its Shinra Tensei, but its brief display allows Aoi, and Kakashi to discern how its abilities work and formulate an attack plan. Aoi distracts the Deva oath with his perfume while Kakashi buries a chain underground. Chōza and Chōji attack the Deva Path with Double Human Bullet Tank, taking hold of the chain as they are flung back to immobilise the Deva Path while Kakashi attacks. The still-active Asura Path blocks his attack, buying enough time for the Deva Path to counter. In the aftermath, Aoi is apparently killed. A mini-Katsuyu soon latches onto him, allowing Tsunade to confirm this. After dying, Aoi finds his sister, Kaede, waiting for him. Just then, a light envelops Kakashi, a sign of his revival; He is later brought back to life.
Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation[]

When the Fourth Shinobi World War began, Aoi was placed in the Surprise Attack Division. He created perfume clouds for his Division to head into battle. When they entered the enemy's territory and the rest of the division began making a base camp, he spotted several explosions near the camp, Aoi rushed back, eliminating one enemy as he arrived. Despite having a broken neck, the target got back up, revealing herself to be a reincarnated Kaede. Kaede apologised to his brother for being forced to fight him, unable to control her own movements because of the technique she was reincarnated with and because she was also being manipulated by Sasori. Aoi and Kaede traded blows until the rest of ambush team could come to help. The Surprise Attack Division with a restrained Deidara in tow, is later confronted by Hanzō, Kimimaro, and Chiyo, the latter of whom congratulated Kankurō on his victory over Sasori. Knowing they were outmatched, Kankurō ordered a retreat but they are pursued and paralysed by Ibuse's Poison Mist, but before Hanzō can kill them, Mifune arrived and intercepted his attack. With this, Kankurō and the others are taken to the medical unit for treatment.
Aoi defeats white Zetsu
The next morning, Aoi and the other shinobi resumed fighting the White Zetsu Army clones amidst the confusion due to the latter's transformation and infiltration into their ranks. After being informed by Inoichi from HQ that Naruto and B were fighting the "masked Madara".Later Aoi and the other members of the Allied Shinobi Forces stood to face their opposition.
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki Strikes[]
By reflecting his Rinne Sharingan on the moon, Madara activates the Infinite Tsukuyomi. The bright light traps Aoi alongside most people are immobilised by the genjutsu and restrained by the Ten-Tails' roots.
New Era[]
Time Slip Arc[]
K.O.E contacts Aoi and lets him know Arikurin and Yukihiro have disappeared.
Kara Actuation Arc[]
When word that the cell of the First Hokage was stolen from Konohagakure and was being sold on the Black Market in the Land of Silence spread, Arikurin, Aoi, and Yukihiro were sent to claim it. Upon arriving, he finds Omoi and his team. They learned that the previous holder of the target, Sakuya, had been killed and the cells allegedly stolen by unknown ninja. Arikurin recognises the poison and murder weapon used on Sakuya as belonging from shinobi from the Land of Haze. Knowing that Hashirama's cells are unstable, they determine the route the Haze shinobi are most likely to take.Arikurin ordered his team to split up to find the "earring shinobi brothers" who were rumored to have the Hashirama Cell. Yukihiro and Aoi split off, while Arikurin create multiple Swiftlet Clones.

Aoi and Yukihiro finally caught up to the ones who stole the Hashirama cells until Deepa announces his presence and swiftly struck down the remaining quadruplets. Before Deepa could attack, Aoi launched several kunai at the enemy. However his kunai harmlessly bounced off Deepa's body. He then barrages Yukihiro with his carbon attacks. After being struck and about to be defeated, Deepa tries to finish Aoi off and punches down with his armoured fist.

But he hits nothing as Arikurin soon arrived and saved Aoi. Mitsuki used this moment to flee, carrying the unconscious Boruto and Sarada. Yukihiro opts to attack Deepa with a barrage of clones. However, Deepa easily pelts the clones away with carbon. Deepa then explained that he is able to manipulate all the carbon is around him, including in his own body to become invulnerable. Arikurin dashes forward with his blade but Deepa blocks his with a punch enhanced by his carbon and both are sent flying backwards away from each other. Asaka then draws his attention with the Hashirama Cell and sets off an explosion with his kinjutsu. Deepa has no scratch on him, but is irritated that the Hashirama Cell was in danger. He loses Team Fue in the blast and shifts his focus to the Hashirama Cell, taking it with him past the Land of Valleys Border. Yukihiro returns to Otogakure with an injured Aoi.
