Aokiji Sogetsu (青雉大草月, Sogetsu Aokiji) is a Medical-nin from Konohagakure and a Jonin-Rank shinobi specializing in medicine. The current director of the Konoha Medical Team, Aokiji is renowned as a medical genius; a diagnostician with specializations in infectious diseases. He is currently one of the greatest medical expert of his generation. He is also a member of the Sogetsu Clan, one of konoha's top noble families and is the possessor of the clan's unique kekkei genkai the Typhoon Release. He is the cousin of the current Seventh Hokage Ryoji Sogetsu and is also a former student of Sakura Haruno one of the greatest medial-nin's in Konoha's history, having studied under the latter for many years before opening up his own practice and becoming a medical-nin himself . Through the years Aokiji has gained fame and recognition as a respected doctor and medical ninjutsu expert, even gaining the monikers the Man of Miracles (奇跡の人, Kiseki no Hito) and the Hand of God (神の手, Kami no Te). His skills and expertise in the area of medical ninjutsu have earned him the envy and admiration of the other four great shinobi nations and many have compared him to the previous Fifth Hokage Tsunade in terms of medical knowledge and skill.
