The Kitsuneko (狐子, English TV: Fox Child) are a cursed race of foxes-like humans that have served the Anjerika Family for generations. Tracing their origins back to a concubine named Jiyuna, they were cursed to forever take the form of fox creatures, as a result of their origin ancestor's treachery and deceitfulness. However, the ritual which cursed their bloodline was interrupted and the pregnant jiyuna escaped, turning her only half-fox. When the child was born, it too was half-fox, just like its mother; and so the first kitsuneko came to be.

The indigenous people are rather creative and open-minded when it comes to designing clothing, each member traditionally wears a cloak of Wolf or Qiviut wool around their body no matter the gender. The Kitsuneko's wear grey/white under-tunic, blue hoari with the Anjerika's crest on the back, gray Hakama and a pair of grey, shin-length sandals. every member born into this tribe has the Hyōkaidō symbol tattooed on their right shoulder as a form of "coming of age" rite once they made their first animal kill ranging from wolves, japanese giant salamander, Ussuri brown bear and deer but they can get other tattoos to add onto their body.
History[]
The history of the Kitsuneko began with a lord who once ruled over the Land of Arctic Fang. A cruel man who desired nothing but money, war, and power, many resented and feared him. The people who were tired of this life plotted to rid of this sickness but they met their inevitable ends by gruesome executions or deaths, the people held responsibly were tried and sentenced to death by hanging. The master was not satisfied with this so he ordered his men to force the criminal’s family to watch as the order was carried out. After the rebels’ death, no one felt safe from the master’s wrath, no one would no longer stand against the tyrannical ruler, and soon after they were forced into slave labor. The master fear of death, his inevitable demise scared him enough to seek out potential concubines to carry on his legacy, many of the women failed his expectations till young jiyuna was able to with all her characteristics and beauty caused the master to immediately take the young girl while dismissing the others that failed him. Once jiyuna arrived at the palace they branded her body with hiragana markings that forbid anyone from touching her, if one defies the master’s decree will die by seppuku.
After their marriage and official intercourse, the master would spend his days tending to his wife’s needs while conquering a small part of the neighboring kingdom. Within the first three weeks, Jiyuna’’s pregnancy never occurred due to the master’s inability to produce a fertile seed, enraged by this he remained in his bed-chamber allowing the wife to congregate with other noble maidens, throw parties, and often partake in sports like hunting large game. After months of free reign within the palace, the master caught jiyuna in an affair with one of the royal guards, enraged by this betrayal he had them arrested and imprisoned ignoring their beg for mercy as they were dragged away to their cell. Over a week, they were barely fed and treated poorly by the master. The master announced the crimes the concubine and lover have committed, trialed for adultery and laying hands upon forbidden property, in front of the people and jiyuna, he slashes the lover’s stomach open spilling his innards upon the floor much to everyone’s cry and horror the master simply smiled, the concubine cries for her lover seem to only please her mad husband even more. As the woman cries filled the court-yard, the master called over a man clad in purple and black carrying a leather book, sparing her no time to mourn the man began his punishment, speaking some sort of spell chakra began to envelop jiyuna’s body changing her body into a fox, her fate was sealed only to be interrupted by the angry crowd, spears and arrows soaring at her husband and sorcerer who was immediately killed.
With the sorcerer dead and her husband cowering behind his guard allowed the people to free the concubine, once freed she crawled to her dead lover caressing his cold body with her small hands, leaving a final kiss on his head then ran out of the village. Her journey through the blizzard was harsh and cold traveling with little to keep warm, ice stinging her face and limbs like tiny knives, feet burning from the overuse of muscles and frostbite. Jiyuna walked as far she could only to pass under a hollow tree where a group in wolf cloak found her, marveled by her appearance they decided to take her in and restore her health saving her from death's grip. Indebted to these people she introduces herself as Jiyuna, Land of Winter concubine and they introduced themselves as the Anjerika Family. The family that took her in as their own quickly grew fond of jiyuna and her company while helping her cope with her loss, despite this she provided information regarding her cruel husband and his empire, secret entrances and tunnels that could allow them to infiltrate and conquer, this information intrigued the big family greatly and with this news, they were able to conquer and overthrow the master, his downfall brought the deliverance of the slaves. Jiyuna would then stay with them for a few months, during this time period she given birth to a baby girl who inherited the same curse as the mother, this new bloodline would create the first Kitsuneko.
