"Nohkan Gaiden" is a fanon fiction covering the main plot of Arikurin Shiin. Intertwined within the Naruto/Boruto series, it is the story of an orphan who is forced to survive the ninja world with a special Kekkei Genkai. Unknown of his own past to the Ōtsutsuki Clan, he comes to face with it when he must stop the same secret society that killed his father, mother, and has taken control of his sister.

Arikurin Shiin and Anko Mitarashi

Arikurin and Anko head to the Land of Sound

Arikurin woke to the sterile scent of Konoha’s hospital, his vision adjusting to the sight of Tsunade standing over him. Her sharp eyes studied him carefully before she sighed, stating that physically, he was fine. Whatever had happened to him wasn’t a matter of his body—it was his mind. Tsunade observed him for a moment longer before making her decision. If he wanted the truth, then he would have to find it himself. She assigned him a mission to investigate the Land of Sound, suspecting that whatever plagued his mind was tied to the region’s past. He wouldn’t be going alone. Anko would be his partner.

8-Point Barrier Seal

Eight Point Barrier Seal

Navigating through overgrown pathways, Arikurin and Anko moved deeper into the wilderness until they reached an unnatural clearing. Before them stood an ancient barrier, its seals pulsing faintly with residual energy. Arikurin’s Byakugan traced the intricate network of fūinjutsu woven into the trees, recognizing the markings as a boundary meant to keep outsiders away. He placed a hand against the nearest seal and formed a series of hand signs. With a whispered command, the Sealing Release Technique activated, causing the symbols to unravel and dissipate.

Shiinshiki's Shrine

Shiinshiki's Shrine

The moment the barrier faded, a hidden path revealed itself, leading them further into the depths of the forest. The path led them to a weathered shrine. Arikurin’s Byakugan flared, his eyes scanning the area. Beneath the shrine, hidden from sight, he found the entrance to a concealed stairway. With a focused gesture, he used Earth Release to clear away the stone top, revealing the dark descent below. Arikurin and Anko stepped into the underground temple.

Shiin Archives

Shiin Clan history

Faded murals stretched across the stone walls, depicting figures playing musical instruments, their details worn away by time. In the dim glow of Anko’s flashlight, the details flickered and shifted, casting eerie shadows that made the artwork seem almost alive. Anko swept the light across the room, revealing an aged stone floor littered with debris. The continue following the path downward into a forgotten library. Dust-covered shelves lined the walls. One book stood out among the rest—its spine bore the Kanji for Shiin (死韻). A strange energy seemed to hum from its pages as Arikurin carefully opened it. As he and Anko scanned the brittle parchment, the weight of history unfolded before them, revealing secrets long buried in time.

Shiin Clan DNA

Shiinshiki's Sound Release DNA is passed through his descendants

The Shiin Clan had once flourished, their mastery of sound-based jutsu allowing them to influence emotions, induce hallucinations, and even control minds. But their greatest legacy lay in their connection to Shiinshiki Ōtsutsuki, an ancient being who descended from the heavens with powerful, otherworldly instruments. These relics, known as Shiinshiki’s Treasured Instruments, could shape reality itself. Greed and ideology eventually split the clan into two factions. The Keepers of Shiin’s Will, who swore to protect the sacred instruments and The Followers of Shiin, who sought to harness them to fulfill some unwritten prophecy.

Fuma Clan vs ANBU

Arrows rain down on the 2 ANBU

Before he could read another word, he could sense more than ten chakra signatures closing in on them. Arikurin tensed, already analyzing their position. The enemy was waiting, concealed in the trees, their exact numbers enough to be a serious threat. Anko was already prepared, kunai in hand, her sharp gaze scanning for any possible escape routes. As they emerged from the underground temple, the unseen enemy remained hidden among the trees, their presence pressing in from all sides. Without warning, a volley of arrows tore through the air toward them.

Arikurin Shiin and Anko

Arikurin and Anko protect themselves

In a swift motion, Arikurin hurled a handful of shuriken and formed a seal—Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique. In an instant, the few projectiles multiplied into dozens, intercepting the incoming arrows mid-flight. Metal clashed against metal, sparks flashing in the dim light as the deadly barrage was neutralized before reaching its mark. The air grew tense as the attackers realized their ambush had failed. Arikurin and Anko steadied themselves, ready for whatever came next.

Aka Fūma Adult

Aka Fūma reveals himself

Aka Fūma, the leader of the group, stepped forward. His gaze lingered on Arikurin, then shifted to Anko, searching for any sign of recognition. The way they had neutralized the attack told him they were no ordinary shinobi, and he was not one to act without understanding his opponent. With an air of authority, he demanded their identities. Around him, the Fūma Clan remained poised, weapons ready, awaiting his command
