Kazekage Rescue Mission

Baki attacks Arikurin, who responds accordingly

In Konohagakure, the decoder Yurika, delivers word about the message from Sunagakure. Team Kakashi's mission is to find out anything about Garra's capture and to assist the Suna in any way they can. Years prior, Suna Council had deployed their ANBU members to kill him during their mission. Because of this, Danzo assigns Arikurin to infiltrate Suna and confirm that this was not another attempt at a coup d'etat. While spying on the Suna's advisory council, Arikurin was attacked by Baki who thought him to be another member of the Akatsuki. He reveals that one of those that had kidnapped Gaara was "Sasori of the Red Sand", which Arikurin knows from his Bingo Book and a previous encounter. After sending word back to Konoha, he prepares to go after the Akatsuki. Once he reached the Akatsuki hideout, Chiyo and Sakura were fighting against Sasori.

The battle goes in their favour at first, with Chiyo controlling Sakura to help her avoid Sasori's attacks and smash his "puppet armour", Hiruko. The destruction of his puppet forces Sasori to reveal himself. Sasori then brings out the first of his human puppets: the Third Kazekage. Chiyo is overwhelmed by the Third's Iron Sand techniques, which prove to be the puppet's biggest weakness, leaving Sakura to be the one to destroy the Kazekage puppet. Arikurin observed the fight with his Byakugan, waiting for his chance to strike. His core was his only weakness and its destruction would mean his death. Using a special chakra-sealing orb given to her by Chiyo, Sakura tries to seal Sasori's Chakra Pathway System, only to catch his empty puppet body. Sasori, having ditched it mere moments before, simply goes to a spare body and tries to stab Chiyo with a poisoned sword. Sakura takes the blow in her place, giving Arikurin and a clone a chance to stab Sasori through the heart.

Sakura then informed him that Kakashi and Naruto werent to far away facing against another Akatsuki member Deidara. When Arikurin left the cave, he started to sense the Nine-Tails Chakra. Not too far away, Naruto entered tailed-beast state rage upon seeing Deidara sitting on the Kazekage's corpse. Team Guy attempts to stop Deidara's escape. Despite having no arms, Deidara swiftly dodges Tenten, Guy and Lee. Arikurin, however, manages to hit him with his Thunderous Timpani. Deidara's body is knocked towards the body of his giant clay bird. Immediately he used his teeth to bite off a chunk of the clay and converting it to explosive clay using his mouth. Deidara then swells up and seemingly self-detonates. The attempt at destroying his enemies was futile, as Kakashi teleported the explosion away with Kamui. Though they did believe Deidara was dead, it is later revealed that Suicide Bombing Clone take his place and Deidara actually fled.

Land of Demons Arc

Arikurin leads his ANBU unit against Mōryō's army of stone warriors

Yomi attacked a shrine, to retrieve the spirit of Mōryō, a demon who attempted to destroy the world and create his "Thousand Year Kingdom". Since he was lacking a body, Yomi offered his as a temporary substitute, until they could retrieve Mōryō's original one sealed in a different shrine. He raised a stone army from their slumber, to attack the rest of the world. To deal with the threat, Konohagakure sent out many advance teams to stall the stone army. After failing to stop the army's advancement, his team returned to Konoha. The only threat to Mōryō's plan was a priestess known as Shion, who could seal his spirit away once more. Therefore he sent his four subordinates to murder her. They were given special chakra creatures to enhance their strength, which gave Neji, Lee, Naruto, and Sakura trouble.

By the time Arikurin arrived to help deliver her to the shrine where Mōryō's body was sealed, she had seemingly been killed. But, this turned out to be a ruse: the dead "Shion" was actually Taruho, who transformed himself into a copy of Shion to trick them into thinking they had killed the real one. Based on intel, Arikurin realised that the remaining three ninja must keep replenishing their chakra to battle effectively. Naruto was sent on ahead with Shion, Sakura and Lee While Arikurin and Neji tricked their opponents into wasting their chakra on futile attacks. When they ran out of chakra and they had to replenish it, Neji disabled the final ninja, who was providing the chakra, leaving the other two powerless against Arikurin.

Arikurin continues to attack Mōryō's army of stone warriors

At the mountain temple where Mōryō's body was kept, Naruto and Shion found the stone army waiting. On the first attempt to get pass the army, both Naruto and Shion fell off a cliff. Afterwards, Naruto came up with a plan and promised Shion that he would protect her. Naruto then held the army back using shadow clones while Shion headed inside the temple to begin the sealing ritual. Yomi was already inside. He had terracotta soldiers attack her, before her light slashed and killed them. Yomi tricked Shion into beginning the technique with him inside the barrier, allowing Mōryō's spirit to reunite with his body. Eventually Arikurin and others came to the fight and destroyed the remaining army.

Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission

Arikurin infiltrated Sai's home and temporally traps him within a genjutsu which startles Sai but he is able to release it. He then pulls his Shindo tantō on him but Sai is able to block the attack with his own Tanto. Arikurin tells Sai to remain focused as he handed Sai a letter containing info on his real mission. Danzo considers Sasuke a threat since he is to be Orochimaru's future host body, a necessity to eliminate. He also reminded Sai that Sasuke Uchiha has the Sharingan and is very skilled in Genjutsu Techniques. Since Orochimaru already knows Arikurin, he cant do this mission himself. He will, however, have a swiftlet clone nearby. Before departing, Arikurin also gives Sai a Leaf Whistle and transfers his duties of watching the Nine-Tails, to him.

Arikurin rescues Sai

At the bridge Naruto fought Orochimaru to a draw. In the end, Orochimaru was only able to throw Naruto back to the bridge. Yamato finally got close enough to revert Naruto back to human form with his Wood Style. Sai left the rest of the team to begin his real mission. Arikurin's clone tracks them a short distance from Orochimaru's hideout. When he arrives, Team 7 confronted Sai about his real mission. Having been caught, Sai explained that he had been assigned to ally with Orochimaru on Danzō's behalf so that the two may join forces in destroying Konohagakure. Yamato then uses his Wood Release to keep Sai bound while the team prepares to infiltrate the hideout once more. When Team 7 leaves, Arikurin clone releases Sai. Using his Byakugan, The clone provides him information on the interior of the lair and is able to locate Sasuke's chakra signature. He also reminds Sai of his true mission to kill Sasuke. Sai later reported to Danzō that he had failed his mission.

Twelve Guardian Ninja

Danzo summons Arikurin

Danzō summons Arikurin to Root HQ. He orders Arikurin to investigate an assault on a neighbouring village in the Land of Fire, which he believes to be the work of Amegakure. He would later report a burnt village and the stolen bodies of Kitane, Tōu, Seito and Nauma. Tsunade has Shizune dispatch ANBU members not affiliated with Root to observe Danzō at all times. At home, Danzō senses the presence of the ANBU. Wondering what Tsunade is up to, he tells himself not to worry as he holds all the cards in his favour.

Not long after, Danzo is brought in for questioning after being caught meeting with Tatsuji. Tsunade asks Danzō to explain himself, asking why he would meet with an Ame-nin when tensions are so high after Amegakure was suspected of being responsible for attacking numerous villages. Danzō states that Tsunade is incompetent as Hokage if she did not even know that Amegakure were not the culprits. Yamato reveals that he recognises Tatsuji as a member of the ANBU that went missing on a mission years ago. Tsunade moves on to Tatsuji, bringing in Ibiki Morino to torture him until he gave up information. However, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, the village elders and members of the Konoha Council, state that Tatsuji was a spy sent by Danzō into Amegakure and that he was not only reporting information back to him, but to them as well. Sora was then discovered eavesdropping.

Sora confronts Asuma and he admits to having killed Kazuma, Sora's Father. He attempts to attack Asuma, manifesting his chakra and transforming his right hand into a monstrous limb, Sora knocks out the ANBU members holding him and attempts to attack Asuma, who blocks the former's Beast Tearing Gale Palm with his chakra blades. Their bout destroys the wall, and the fight continues outside. Arikurin decides to take the opportunity to kill Sora with shuriken, but Naruto leaps in front of its path and blocks the attack. Sora retreats as Shizune and a few other ninja arrive. Naruto is critically injured but is healed thanks to his Nine-Tails chakra.

Later, Konoha was attacked by members of Furido's 4-Man Team, reviving many shinobi. Some of the revived shinobi were from the Twelve Guardian Ninja, who planned on using a powerful technique, Limelight, to destroy Konoha. With Konoha in complete darkness, the village struggles to defend against the four attackers who have sealed the entire village behind a barrier. The entire village is in a state of emergency. Furido and his team begin their infiltration of the village, with Fudō using his Earth Release: Rock Lodging Destruction technique to trap and kill many Konoha-nin in caves. Shizune reports to Tsunade that the village is indeed under attack; Tsunade summons the Chūnin and Jōnin of the village and alert them that the village is now under a Stage One level. She sends the squads to different points around the village and notifies Asuma that Sora tried to kill her and that he is being tailed by Naruto. Arikurin then sets off to find the two.

Arikurin, commanded by Danzo to follow Sora and eliminate him, finally catches up to them. Naruto asks why Sora would try to kill Tsunade and why he is aligned with those who are attacking the village. Sora tells Naruto that he simply wanted to take down Konoha's Hokage due to the fact that he believes it was the Third Hokage who told his son Asuma to kill Sora's father. Arikurin intervenes attempting to kill Sora but Naruto gets in the way again. The two clash until Fūka arrives and attacks Naruto. As they battle, Arikurin continues his pursuit of Sora.

Soon after, Arikurin reaches Kazuma and Sora. He watches as former releases Sora's seal, and tells him the truth: Sora is a pseudo-jinchūriki. The chakra that had leaked from the Nine-Tailed Fox when it attacked Konoha 15 and a half years ago was harvested and implanted into Sora. As Asuma arrives, Kazuma used the Five Elements Unseal to release all of the Nine-Tails' power sealed within Sora. Arikurin takes out his Shindo Tanto and begins to prep for his Resonating Chains Technique. A few moments later, Arikurin rushes toward Sora, trying to suppress the chakra. Enraged, Sora knocks Arikurin back as he turns into the three-tailed form of the demon fox. The chakra of the Nine-Tails rages out of control within Sora, preventing Arikurin from completing his mission. Asuma engages Kazuma in battle, and later with Sai's help, Asuma finished Kazuma off. Ultimately, Naruto is able to stop Sora by releasing the nine tails' chakra sealed inside him.

Nohkan Gaiden: Infiltrate The Land of Sky

Arikurin and Sai training to use emotional energy

A group of ninja from the Land of the Sky made a surprise attack on Konoha and were reported to have control over the Zero Tails. The group began attacking Konoha, causing mass mayhem, with Sora-nin flying using a Winged Mechanical Device and bombarding the village. With Sai's original sealing training left incomplete and Arikurin failing to seal Sora's Nine-tails, Danzo assigns them to train together in order to complete a mission. The mission is to find any surviving Land of Sky members and seal the Zero Tails if it is still alive. Like Kurama, the Zero-Tails has the ability to sense negative emotions, which it uses to seek out and possess anyone who is emotionally unstable. The plan is to use emotion energy to seal it. Arikurin and Sai train to master a sealing jutsu that used emotion. Sai and Arikurin would later develop Sealing Technique: Chained Tiger Bullet.

Sai, Arikurin and Shimora infiltrate the base

Meanwhile, the Sora-nin retreated because they were out of chakra to continue flying, Arikurin and Shimora use their gathered intel to find the location of a the remaining Sky Ninja's main base is a smaller flying temple, similar in construction to the Ancor Vantian. Sai approached the ships they were using as a base near a beach on one of his ink birds to attract their attention and to gauge their abilities, while Arikurin and Shimora infiltrated their base.

They went together to explore base. In a room was a cocoon, absorbing dark chakra. Shinnō had fused with the cocoon, and attacked Naruto and Sasuke. All of their counterattacks proved useless, as any chakra they used was absorbed by the cocoon and rendered harmless. Using tentacles as his arms, Shinnō grabbed hold of both of them and began draining their chakra. Sasuke activated the first level of his cursed seal, releasing its evil chakra, and Naruto, who had understood Sasuke's plan, turned into his initial jinchūriki form and sent a large amount of chakra into the Zero-Tails, and managed to break free with his shadow clones before using Tornado Rasengan.

After escaping himself, Sasuke ascended to the second level of the cursed seal, before using Chidori Katana to cut off the beast's power. The creature began rampaging after regaining control of itself, having now completely absorbed Shinnō's. It devoured all the sky ninja aboard the temple, then caused it to explode and collapse. The fortress was then completely destroyed, causing the debris to rain down into the ocean and Arikurin to abon ship. This officially put an end to the Land of the Sky.

The Will of Fire

Team Fue and Tsuande's ANBU Unit are sent on a mission to follow the tracks of the missing kekkei genkai-wielding ninja, which leads them to Mount Shumisen, located between the Land of Earth and Kusagakure. While scouting the area, Team Fue is attacked by a bird which attacks with explosive tag-like feathers. The other ANBU unit faces chimera-like creatures and one is injured in the process. Before he could be healed, a mysterious ninja along with his followers ambush them. Arikurin sonic dashes out of the way and strikes. However, the unknown ninja is able absorb their chakra with his mysterious technique and uses Arikurin's Sound Release the defeat Tsuandes ANBU unit. Using an SSG to create a distraction, Team Fue retreats and reports back to Konoha.

That night, the same mysterious ninja, the mastermind and antagonist of the film known as Hiruko, projects his image over the skies of the Five Great Ninja Villages, introducing himself as a shinobi of Konohagakure. He states that he has taken the kekkei genkai of the four missing ninja using the Chimera Technique, and that he plans to gain the fifth and final kekkei genkai which will make him immortal. By doing so, he declares the Fourth Shinobi World War. Konohagakure is believed to be behind the incident, as by the way Hiruko introduced himself, it seems that Konoha is using or working with Hiruko. Rumours circulate that they are preparing a rebellion. With the other nations amassing troops at the Land of Fire's borders, threatening invasion, the Fire Daimyō orders Tsunade to apprehend those who are responsible and prove Konoha's innocence; in the event of failure, the Land of Fire will be forced to destroy the village in order to preserve world peace. She orders Arikuri to help evacuate civilians to a safe location

Akatsuki Suppression Mission

Team Fue is assigned to track and capture Akatsuki members that attacked the Fire Temple. The Akatsuki members are to be captured alive, but if that is not possible they are to be eliminated. After tracking them, Arikurin interrogates a bounty-hunting contact in order to gain usable information on Akatsuki.

Arikurin attacks Kakuzu

After receiving all the information from him, Shikari took the man into custody and then Shimora laid in wait at the hideout in the hopes that someone would show up there. After intercepting a message from Asuma's team that they are currently in battled, Arikurin rushed to provide backup. Before Hidan and Kakuzu can finish off Shikamaru, Kotetsu and Izumo, they are saved by the arrival of Aoba's crows. When they are distracted, Arikurin and Raido, attempted to sneak attack Kakuzu but both sword attacks are deflected off of him.

This allows a chance for the others to take Asuma to the safety of the roof. Aoba and Raidō hold off Hidan while Arikurin fights Kakauzu one-on one. Because of his ability to harden his skin, Kakuzu proved to be largely invulnerable to Arikurin's taijutsu strikes, but, Arikurin gained valuable knowledge about Kakuzu's fighting style. Due to his interference, Kotetsu and Izumo were freed from his grasp. The leader of the Akatsuki soon makes a telepathic call to Hidan and Kakuzu, telling them to retreat as the sealing of the Two-Tails is top priority. Hidan and Kakuzu retreated to a secluded area. By the time Shimora and Shikari arrive, they are no where to be found.

Later with the villages on high alert, Team 10 then prepares to leave Konoha in the middle of the night to find them, only to be found by Arikurin who reports this to Danzo and Tsuande. Tsuande arrives and approves their leave, and assigns Kakashi and Arikurin to join them. Shikamaru makes amends to his battle plan to accommodate the addition of 2 new people.

Once they locate the Akatsuki members, Hidan and Kakuzu, Arikurin and Kakashi hide until Kakuzu is driven to use his Earth Spear, at which point Kakashi pierces him through the heart with his Lightning Cutter. However, Kakuzu survives the attack. Kicking Kakashi away, he takes off his Akatsuki robe to reveal his true body, held together by strings and four masks on his back, one of them punctured by Kakashi's Lightning Cutter. Kakuzu unleashes all four masks, but the damaged one succumbs and dies, alerting Arikurin to their weak spot.

Hidan, freed from Shikamaru's jutsu, goes toe-to-toe with Arikurin as Kakuzu, taking advantage of Hidan's immortality, strikes the two with his Wind Release: Pressure Damage. Kakuzu then turns his attention on the other three, with Ino having entered the fray, and launches his Lightning Release: False Darkness technique at them. Arikurin arrives in the nick of time and manages to block the attack with Vacuum Palm Rotation. Needing to separate Hidan and Kakuzu if they're to have any chance of victory, Arikurin distracts Hidan while Shikamaru takes a vial of Kakuzu's blood that Kakashi secretly collected and leads Hidan away with his shadow possession technique. This resulted in Hidan unintentionally destroying Kakuzu's main body's heart.

Kakashi and Arikurin formulate a plan to destroy another heart

Seeing this, the Lightning mask allowed its heart to be absorbed by Kakuzu's body, bringing him back to life. Arikurin and Kakashi then managed to destroy another one of Kakuzu's heart by combining techniques. Now down to only 2 hearts Kakuzu then has his merged Fire-Wind masks use their Strange Mask Exploding Flame technique to incinerate Kakashi, and Arikurin. However, the duo are saved by Naruto combining his new Wind Release: Rasengan with Yamato's Water Release: Tearing Torrent to create a Typhoon Water Vortex Technique that snuffs out Kakuzu's fire-wind attack. As they continue to battle, Arikurin uses swiftlet clone to lead Sakura and Sai to Shikamaru in case he needs help while everyone else prepares to attack Kakuzu. After heading to the area where Arikurin heard a large explosion, he surprised to find out that Shikamaru had managed to defeat an immortal Akatsuki member on his own.

Back at the fight with Naruto, starts his new jutsu. The loud screeching noise is almost unbearble to Arikurin at first, forcing him to adjust his ears. His new Wind Release: Rasenshuriken is temperamental, however, forcing Arikurin to rescue him when it fails on its first use. It succeeds the second time, destroying two of Kakuzu's last hearts. Kakuzu lamented being defeated. Arikurin approached his body and searches his mind for useable intel on the Akatsuki. He, however is only able to find intel on Takigakure. He was given the a mission to assassinate Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. This mission, however, ended in failure. In his flight from the village, Kakuzu killed the village elders, took their hearts, and fled with knowledge of the village's most prized forbidden techniques. Kakuzu's corpse was later taken back to Konoha to be autopsied.

Kizuna Drive

Arikurin reports Mission Failure

Yumegakure was originally nothing more than the hidden village of a tiny country. It became known for its control of a massive guardian beast, called the Three-Heads. That power made it superior even to the five great nations. It formed a pact of peace with Konohagakure, and the two became allies. That alliance has kept balance among the nations, keeping each in check. Arikurin delivers a scroll of intel to Gensui Amagiri, stating that the rest is up to him. Back in Konoha a few days later, Arikurin reports to Danzō that the Yumegakure incident has failed. Danzō then states that perhaps it was too great a tasks for "a restless bunch of backwoods nobodies" and puts it aside, stating that there will be other chances for him to become Hokage.

Three-Tails' Appearance

Kakashi leads Team 8 on a mission to investigate one of Orochimaru's recently-discovered bases. During their investigation they are attacked by Guren and Kakashi requests additional assistance from Konoha. Back in her office, Tsunade observes the crystal sent and gives it to Shizune to analyze. After intercepting the message, Danzo suspects this to be Crystal Release: an ability thought to be non-existent. He tasks Arikurin to provide assistance to Sai and the Orochimaru Search Team,

Arikurin tracks Rinji's bats

Arikurin soon arrives to area and immediately senses the use of some sort of supersonic waves. He notices the bats on a cave roof where they have sought refuge and realizes that the enemy is most likely using bats to scout out the vicinity with their sound waves. He maneuvered around the area, trying to find all the bats he could. Soon he was able to find the exact frequency of ultrasonic waves being used. He tracked a bat in order to find the enemy. With bats limited range and with the forest around them providing obstruction, he easily kept away from the bats and didnt allow the bats to track him.

The Three-Tails appears

Arikurin continues to track a Bat eventually to a lake, where a child named Yūkimaru releases his chakra and began summoning the Three-Tails. The strain caused his nose and ears to bleed, and he soon passed out, causing the beast to go on a rampage. Guren uses her Crystal Release: The Gods' Crossings Technique to repress the tailed beast. As this complicates matters for them, Arikurin sends a Swiftlet Clone to Konoha in order to receive orders from Danzo.

Arikurin sends chakra through the lake to search for the Three Tails

In Konoha, Ino and Shizune, along with Hinata and Sakura, are tasked with using their medical ninjutsu to seal the Three Tails. The clone soon arrives and relays information regarding the Three-Tails to Danzo. Realising that the Akatsuki may soon arrive if word gets out, he tells Arikurin's clone to seal away the Three Tails before Tsuandes team does. Almost immediately, the clone disappears as Arikurin releases his jutsu. As the Three-Tails retreats, Arikurin sends chakra through the lake and can still sense the Three Tails' chakra.

Guren defeats a Swiftlet Clone

Knowing that Shizune's team cannot protect the Yukimaru and seal the beast at the same time, Arikurin is decides to with protect the sealing team and wait for his chance to seal it himself. Once they located the Three Tails, their team tried to use Four-Corner Sealing Barrier to permanently trap the beast in its own dimension. Wanting to interfere with their plans, Team Guren arrives as they are incapable of defending themselves. But are stopped by a pair of Swiftlet Clones.

Using her jade crystal blades on her forearms along with her Crystal Armour, she attacks Arikurin. The ultrasonic sound waves from Arikurin's weapons renders her Crystal Release useless. The ultrasound waves move at a frequency that allowed the crystal to breakdown at a molecular level. However, using his Slime Suit, Nurari intervened is able to save Guren and avoid being stuck directly by Arikurin's Gentle Fist. Guren then uses Crystal Release: Tearing Crystal Falling Dragon causing Ino to lose some of her focus. No longer being suppressed by Airkurin, the Three-Tails manages to break out of its barrier. Guren tells Rinji to retreat, as their job of breaking the barrier has been successful. Three-Tails begins attacking her, and it is only through Yūkimaru's interference that she is saved. Guren, with Naruto's help, attacks the Three-Tails, but it eats them both.

After Yūkimaru was treated by Sakura and Ino, Kakashi decided to use him to conjure up the beast to try sealing once more. After luring out the beast and erecting the Four-Corner Sealing Barrier in an attempt to seal away the tailed beast once more, Arikurin uses Resonating Chains to bind the tailed beast while Sai attempts to seal it. Just when the sealing was almost complete, Yūkimaru, angered by the apparent death of Guren, empowered the beast to break free of its restraints and go on a rampage. Once the beast was driven off, Arikurin regained consciousness and finds Yūkimaru. Arikurin then inspects Yukimaru with his Byakugan and noticed his Chakra Pathway System has been severely disrupted, causing him to lose the power over the Three-Tails permanently. With another failed sealed attempt and Yūkimaru's importance to Konoha being dissolved after he lost his ability to control the Three-Tails, Arikurin returns to Konoha.

Itachi Pursuit Mission

Arikurin defeats the prisoners

News reaches Konoha that Sasuke has killed Orochimaru. They realize that this is a good opportunity to try and find Sasuke or his assumed target, Itachi. Therefore, Arikurin is assigned the task of eliminating both of the Uchiha brother’s and to bring back their sharingan, if possible. Danzo gives him a book that detailed everything they had learned about Akatsuki that was received from Kabuto. Intel later reports sightings of Sasuke and Suigetsu in the Land of Waves. The search would eventually lead him to Orochimaru's Northern Hideout. When the Arikurin got there, prisoners infected with the cursed seal attacked him but were swiftly defeated. Arikurin would later discover another hidden base. This one belonging to the Akatsuki.

Arikurin and Itachi clash

He ends up finding Itachi and attacks the clone with his Orchestral Stab, but Itachi substituted himself with another shadow clone as a shield. Arikurin was then caught in the clone's Sharingan genjutsu, but he eventually dispelled it. Itachi mentions he forgot Genjutsu doesnt work on Arikurin. He opts to use his skeletal Susanoo. After he grabs Arikurin, the later turnout to be a swiftlet clone. The real Arikurin soon appeared, and a battle began.

Arikurin defeats Itachi's Shadow clone

After defeating Itachi, it turns out to be a shadow clone. Soon afterwards, Arikurin continued searching for information about Itachi's whereabouts. This led him to a bank where Akatsuki member Kakuzu's banker Ginji was. Recognising him as such, Arikurin threatened him to talk. Seeing Deidara's large suicide bomb's explosion, Arikurin was drawn to the site of Sasuke's battle with Deidara, where he had used a special seal to summon Manda and had used the snake to escape the explosion.

Meanwhile in Konoha, Jiraiya sets off to Amegakure, he reminds Tsunade to be wary of Root and destroys one of Arikurin's swiftlet clones who was spying on their conversation.

Mission: Eliminate Yuichi Uchiha

Team Fue reviews intel on Yucihi Uchiha

Arikurin continues his mission of eliminating both of the Uchiha brother’s in order to acquire their Sharingan for Danzo. With no leads, Arikurin assigns Shimora a solo mission to eliminate former ANBU Yuichi Uchiha and gain any usable intel on Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha. Arikurin later receives an insect message stating that she is luring Yuichi back to Konoha. The other members of Team Fue and waited in the forest. A small cloud of black bugs swarmed around them, confirming Shimora was nearby.

Yucihi trapped in Arikurin's Tree Binding Genjutsu

After placing Yuichi in a Genjutsu, Arikurin navigated through the many traps in Yuchis mind that Shimora couldn't bypass. Nothing at all seemed of any use. Then suddenly, a clear memory of Yuichi and Itachi having a conversation at the Uchiha Hideout was shown. Later, Team Fue and Yuichi arrived at the Uchiha Hideout.

Fated Battle Between Brothers

The next morning, Team Fue and Yuichi headed toward the location of the secret hideout. Arikurin used his Byakugan to locate where a fierce fight seemly took place and they rushed to reach the area. Yuchi mentioned that it was set ablaze by Utachi's Amaterasu and not to touch the black flmaes. Arikurin used Earth Release: Mud Wall to create a path through it.

Arikurin finds the Uchiha brothers' bodies

As they arrive closer, Arikurin notices 2 bodies defeated. But before the could inspect the bodies, they find themselves blocked by Tobi and multiple white Zetsu. Arikurin muses that Tobi was not in the Akatsuki roster Kabuto had provided and Tobi explains that he is a new member. Team Fue attempts to subdue Tobi, but he evades all of their attacks. Arikurin focuses on Tobi's chakra signature to try and understand how his ability works, but is mystified when it simply vanishes. As Tobi disappeared with the bodies of the Uchihas to their hideout. Arikurin and his team are forced to fight off the remaining white Zetsu.

The final White Zetsu is defeated

After defeating him, they unfortunately cannot rediscover Tobi's trail. After failing to find Itachi or Sasuke, the group was forced to abandon the mission and return to Konoha. Elsewhere, Tobi treated Sasuke's injuries and waited for him to wake up. When he does, Tobi introduced himself as Madara Uchiha and exposed his right Sharingan to prove his identity. This triggered an Amaterasu in Sasuke's left eye against Tobi. Tobi retreated into the darkness while he put out the flames, returning with his mask back on to muse about how far Itachi would go to protect Sasuke. Sasuke was confused, so Tobi divulged the Uchiha's history.

Naruto Jinraiden: The Land of Medicines

Arikurin arrives in the Land of Medicines in search of a cure for his son's illness. He learns of a being named Rōen lied dormant within a villiger's body. Rōen takes advantage of Kina's growing anger to take control of his body and absorb the chakra of those who pick on him. When Kina transforms in front of a mob, however, Rōen is able to launch an assault against the village. After it and Sasuke begin to clash. Arikurin senses Sasuke's chakra in Howling Wolf Village. He sends word back to Konoha and the other members of Team Fue investigate.

Six-Tails Unleashed

On their way back to the village, an ink message from Sai appears and gives the team details of Team 7's new mission. They are to help the Tsuchigumo clan protect their infamous and forbidden technique from being taken by ninja bandits. Arikurin and his team unfortunately arrive at the clan's base too late, as the Magaki Group had already broken through its defences and forced the former clan leader's granddaughter, Hotaru to retreat into the woods.

The squad leaders discuss the fate of Utakata

While searching for her, they discovered she was being held hostage by Kirigakure ANBU hunter-nin. They also had Utakata, who Arikurin recognizes from the Binog Book, wrapped up with their Water Release: Water Whip technique. The Kiri team began subduing them with their Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder. Before Team Fue could intervene, Team 7 stepped in and attacked the Kiri-nin. Suddenly, Tsurugi, appeared to make a deal with all of the other team captains. Not wanting things to become a war between the two villages.it was then agreed that the Kiri-ANBU would release Hotaru and not pursue Utakata until the Konoha-nin's mission was complete, as long as the Konoha-nin agreed not to interfere with their pursuing of Utakata afterwards.

Arikurin and Team Yamato consider destroying the kinjutsu. However, Hotaru offers an alternate choice, of seeking out Shiranami himself, as Hotaru is under the belief he is still loyal to Hotaru's grandfather. While Shiranami was able to convince her not to destroy the jutsu, Hotaru still decided to inform Tonbee of her change of heart. Not wanting anyone to interfere, Shiranami sought to intercept her message and knocked out Hotaru, bringing her back to the clan's village, which he already took complete control of with a form of fūinjutsu. While he had his men keep guard, Shiranami began the process of removing the Kinjutsu.

Blood Prison

When Naruto is accused of trying to assassinate the Fourth Raikage, he was sent to the Blood Prison in Kusagakure. It is later discovered that Naruto was framed as part of a scheme to use the Nine-Tails' chakra to open Box of Ultimate Bliss, but Konoha and Kumo were already aware of that.

Sai and Arikurin arrive at the Hozuki Castle

When Muku came back out of the box, he became corrupted by Satori and impaled his father. Satori's ability of sensing fear was ineffective against Arikurin, due to his lack of it. Eventually, Satori impaled Naruto and Ryūzetsu through their abdomen with his claw, to which they used to their advantage to prevent Satori from evading attacks and pin him down, allowing Mui to use the Fire Release: Great Fire Heavenly Prison to further restrain Satori, leaving him open to Naruto's Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

Seemingly returning to normal, Muku was once again taken over by Satori, killing Mui. Muku then used the Fire Release: Demon Lantern to trigger the Heavenly Prison seal on his own body, killing himself and sending Satori back into the box. The box, with Satori contained, was then cast into the whirlpools outside the Hōzuki Castle, where it will never be opened again.

Arikurin fends off Giant Multi-Headed Dog

Pain finally decides to hunt down Naruto. He tricks the Konoha Barrier Team into expecting only one intruder when he has the Animal Path enter the barrier through the air, only for the Animal Path to summon the other five once inside the village. At the same time, Arikurin returns to Konoha after completing a mission. As he approaches the village's outskirts, he spots suspicious characters wearing black robes with red clouds. He continues to rushes back to the village and, upon arrival, is attacked by Animal Path's Giant Multi-Headed Dog.

Arikurin attacks Pain's Summon

Arikurin eventually traps the Giant Multi-Headed Dog in a Massive Curse Mandala. The summon was modified by Pain using the Amplification Summoning Technique, so that it can split apart, when struck, into individual dogs that can then merge back together. It gained additional heads every time it splits in this way. Because of this, the jutsu is eventually broken as the dog merely continued to multiply. He deduces the only way it can be defeated, was by defeating its original summoner. Ibiki and a team of three ANBU arrive made a stand against the beast giving Airkurin a chance to escape.

Arikurin and a Swiftlet clone attack Giant Snake-Tailed Chameleon

With Anko away leading the Infiltration and Reconnaissance Party that's charged with finding Kabuto Yakushi, Arikurin decided to check on his son at the nearest safehouse. On the way he is stopped by Giant Snake-Tailed Chameleon. Much like a real-life chameleon, this creature can also blend with its surroundings for camouflage, so perfectly that it renders itself completely invisible to other viewers around. However thanks to his Byakugan, Arikurin and a Swiftlet Clone are able to defeat it.

Arikurin watches as Konoha is destroyed by Pain

Having discovered Naruto's location wasn't in Konoha, the second Animal Path summons Konan and five Paths to the forest outside the village. Declaring that Konoha shall know pain for what they did to Yahiko, he proceeds to shut down the other five bodies as his Deva Path performs a large-scale Shinra Tensei, reducing the village to a massive crater. Arkurin later learns, that Team Ebisu helped evacuate Ariko and other children to a safe house. Naruto soon arrives and went on the offensive, dispatching the healed Preta and Naraka Path before the Deva Path regained its full power. However, Pain soon killed Fukasaku and used the opportunity to capture Naruto, pinning him down to the ground.

Post-Shinra Tensei

Arikurin and Shikaku discuss pain

Before Pain could depart with Naruto, he was attacked by Hinata Hyūga. Declaring her love for Naruto and vowing to protect him, she continued to fight against Pain before she was subdued and critically wounded. Believing Hinata to had been killed, an enraged Naruto erupted into his six-tailed form. Arikurin meets up with Shikamaru, Shikaku, Ino, and Inoichi. to pool their knowledge about Pain. With their combined information they realise that the real Pain must be nearby and in the highest tower near Konoha in order to control the Six Paths of Pain. They soon decide to locate him. Because of his leg, Shikamaru must stay behind while Arikurin, Shikaku and Inoichi go searching.

Arikurin finds Gamashiki

While searching through the forest, Arikurin hears the crying song of Gamashiki. He located the toadi who greeted him and stated that it was foretold that "The Young Man with Powerful Ears" would be able to find him. In addition to that, The Toad Sage gave Gamashiki a message. The message stated "The Mother of Musical Ninjutsu" can still be heard" and "Your ears will reconnect with the musical source." Later, Nagato uses Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to revive everyone that died during his attack

Five Kage Summit

Danzo meets with his elite members of root Arikurin Fū and Torune

With Tsunade in a coma, despite Shikaku Nara's best efforts, Danzō convinced the daimyō that previous Hokage's peaceful ideologies had made Konoha weak and presented himself as the type of leader the village currently needed to enforce the laws of shinobi and bring order to the world. After brief consideration, the daimyō agreed to appoint him as Sixth Hokage Candidate. When Danzō returned, he received a letter from the Fourth Raikage, informing him of the approaching Kage Summit and the actions of Sasuke Uchiha. As his first order as Hokage, Danzō ordered Sasuke's execution for treason marking him as a missing-nin.

Arikurin creates Swiftlet Clones

Later, Danzō selected Torune, Fū, and Arikurin to escort him to the Kage Summit. Fu and Torune were assigned to enter the meeting with Danzo. Before in the Land of Iron and the meeting's start, they were ambushed by the Prajñā Group. Revealing the Sharingan in his right eye socket, Danzo quickly defeated the first wave of assailants. Arikurin apologizes and immediately creates a group of Swiftlet Clones to defeat the next 2 waves of attackers. As they get closer and closer to the Land of Iron, Arikurin was to remain at a distance to sense the area for others dangers using his Swiftlets.

Arikurin receives Sai's message

Arikurin also receives Sai's message through an ink bird. He orders Sai to find Kabuto before Anko did, believing Kabuto's information might be useful for restoring Danzo's right arm and eye. Unknown to them, Kakashi put two Root members watching Naruto under genjutsu and told Sai to report to Danzō that Naruto had not left Konoha. Mifune proposed that the five countries unite to eliminate Akatsuki, and that Danzō lead the alliance. Ao, Terumī's bodyguard, with his Byakugan discovered Danzō's secret use of Shisui Uchiha's Kotoamatsukami to manipulate Mifune's decision. He interrupts the summit, asking Danzō to reveal his right eye. When questioned, he explains his suspicions and how he was able to deduce the genjutsu with his Byakugan.

Hokage Escort Squad

Suddenly, White Zetsu appeared before the Kage, announcing that Sasuke Uchiha was near-prompting Arikurin and other members of the Hokage Escort Squad to come to Danzo's defense. After revealing himself, the Fourth Raikage grabbed the white Zetsu's neck, asked him about the whereabouts of Sasuke, and threatened to use force. Zetsu mockingly replied that he would give a hint, which prompted the Raikage, angered, to tighten his grip on Zetsu's neck. With his neck snapped, the White Zetsu collapsed on the floor and was presumed to be dead by everyone in the vicinity. The Fourth Raikage tasks Ao to keep Danzō under watch, who meekly explains that he cannot use his technique multiple times a day. Mifune berates him for his actions, claiming that he may have actually chosen Danzō to be the leader of the Allied Shinobi Forces, but Danzō explains that there is no time for morality and ethics in their shinobi world if they wish to produce results.

Arikurin attacks Sasuke

Meanwhile, Karin is able to locate Danzō, but her tracking is noticed by Arikurin, who alerts Danzō. Danzō tells him to wait until their enemies reach the stronghold, at which point they would escape amidst the chaos. Their conversation is overheard by Ao, who tells them that he is a Sensor Type as well and that they would not be fleeing if the enemies should attack. Karin soon leads Sasuke to the conference room. When Sasuke appears on the ceiling, Arikurin is the first to notice him and attack. The commotion allows Fū, Torune & Danzō the opportunity to flee.

Arikurin kills White Zetsu's Spore

After Sasuke had been struck by Arikurin's blade, Zetsu's Spore Technique, which had secretly been implanted on everyone in the meeting hall before the Raikage's attack, activated. The spores leached some of the Arikurins's chakra while binding him but he manages to get free from it by channeling a massive amount of sound chakra through his blade, paralyzing the clone with vibrations. One of the spores then jumped onto Sasuke and gave him the absorbed chakra, allowing him to use an arm of Susanoo to escape from the Mizukage. After killing the spore attached to him, Arikurin returns to his team.

Arikurin trying to take Ao's Byakugan

Elsewhere Ao is trapped by Fū's Mind Puppet Switch Cursed Seal Technique. Fū, following Danzō's orders, tries to retrieve the Byakugan. However, Ao tells Fū that there is a special seal in his eyes, making it impossible for enemies to try to take his eye. Hearing this, Fū used his mind emission technique and contacted Arikurin. He told him their position and the mission the retrieve or destroy the stolen Byakugan. Arikurin soon arrives tries to retrieve the Byakugan for himself but cannot break the seal. Arikurin tells Fū to break his justu and he would simply kill Ao. However, Arikurin is forced to flee and return to Danzo when he senses the Mizukage and Chōjūrō's chakra coming.

Arikurin, Fu and Torune attack a masked Obito

Nearing Samurai Bridge, Torune, Fū, and Danzō were ambushed by a Masked Tobi. Arikurin notes that is that same chakra signature from the Uchiha Hideout that disappeared without a trace. While Danzō prepared for battle and can remove his Sealing Arm Braces, Arikurin aided Fū and Torune attack Tobi. As the clones attempt to distract him, Fū sneaks behind Tobi and tries to use the Mind Body Switch Technique on him, but fails to do so, as Tobi phases through a pillar. Suddenly, Tobi appears behind Fū, but Arikurin quickly reacts and slashes at him with his tantō, only for the attack to phase through him. Tobi grabs Fū and attempts to hit him, but Torune attacks at him, forcing Tobi to release Fū and go intangible. The 3 continued attacking from different angles, hoping that one of them would be able to attack Tobi while Tobi is attacking one of the others.

Arikurin cannot locate Fū and Torune's chakra signatures

Continuing to use his intangibility, Tobi is able to constantly evade all of Roots attacks. Arikurin retreats and summons 2 swiftlet clones to fight so that Torune can take the opportunity to infect him with his rinkaichū. Fū attacks Tobi, but slips pass him, and Tobi pretends to counter-attack. Torune then runs to hit Tobi, but, as part of his plan, Tobi goes intangible, causing Torune to hit Fū instead. Clutching his arm in pain, Torune extracts the bugs, and cures Fū. Before they could battle further, Tobi quickly transports both of them to another dimension. As Torune heals Fū, Tobi uses Kamui to transport Arikurin's clone, Fū and Torune elsewhere but defeat of his clone would cause sound waves to enter Tobi's ear. Distracted by the sound, Tobi retreats into him dimension. Arikurin returns to Danzo and lets him know Fū and Torune's chakra signatures have completely disappeared.

Danzo finishes unsealing his right arm

A few moments later, Tobi brought out Sasuke and Karin. Danzō then revealed his right arm to show that it was embedded with Sharingan all over, and voiced his intent to add Tobi's and Sasuke's to his collection. He orders Arikurin to stand down and keep an eye on Karin and Tobi. Before they start fighting, Sasuke asks for Danzō to confirm that Itachi really was ordered to kill the Uchiha by Konoha's leadership. Danzō, assuming Sasuke heard this from Itachi, criticizes Itachi for revealing the secret and concludes that Itachi, calling him a traitor. Taking this as confirmation, Sasuke uses Susanoo to crush Danzō in anger.

Arikurin continues his assault

Despite his apparent death, Danzō was unharmed by Susanoo. Reacting quickly, Arikurin rushes forward in a burst of speed to attack Sasuke, but the attack is blocked by the latter's Susanoo forcing Arikurin to retreat. When Danzo was finally reduced to one Sharingan, Danzō and Sasuke each prepared one final attack; breathing wind-natured chakra onto a kunai creating a blade and attacked. Danzō believed that he had won before realising that Sasuke's genjutsu tricked him into thinking he has one more eye left to evade the impalement. His depleted chakra levels, coupled with his new injury, caused him to lose control of his wood abilities and he was forced to sever his arm before he was turned into a giant tree.

Arikurin saves Karin from Sasuke

Refusing to accept defeat, Danzō takes Karin as a hostage and prepared to use Shisui's eye before Sasuke extended his Chidori Sharp Spear through Karin to impale Danzo through the heart. Arikurin's clone notes to that Karin possesses a lot of information on their enemies and that will be vital to Konoha. Arikurin uses this chance and has a swiftlet clone grab Karin and escapes while they is distracted.

Arikurin evades Danzo's Reverse Four Symbols Sealing

Danzo proceeds to hop across the Samurai Bridge. Tobi arrives to block his path and notifies him that he would be taking Shisui's eye now. Arikurin arrives shortly after to defend him. However, using his Reverse Four Symbols Sealing technique, Danzō unleashes a black sphere with the objective of drawing and sealing those nearby into his body. Arikurin, Sasuke and Tobi manage to get out of the sphere's radius. Danzō was, nevertheless, able to destroy Shisui's Sharingan in order to prevent Tobi from obtaining it.

The cursed seal on Arikurin's tongue begins to fade.

Moments later, the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal given to all members of Root by Danzō on Arikurin's tongue, disappeared. At the same time, Sakura, arrives. She tells him that she has defected from Konoha and is prepared to help him in his goals, even if that means destroying the village. Suspicious of her true motives, Sasuke tells her to kill her instead. However, his attack is blocked by the clone that has finished healing Karin.

Sasuke fires his Susanoo Arrow toward Arikurin

Sasuke activates his Susanoo again and fire an arrow at Arikurin, but Kakashi arrives and uses Kamui to warp the arrow away. Sasuke is impressed that Kakashi was able to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan and attempts to use the Susanoo once more, only for his vision to become blurred; as a result, his Susanoo and his Sharingan deactivate. Sakura, sneaks up behind Sasuke, and holds a kunai to his back, finding herself unable to kill him. Then, Sasuke attempts to kill Sakura, only for Naruto to arrive in the nick of time and whisk Sakura out of harm's way. Naruto and Sasuke decide to temporarily suspend hostilities until later when they, and only they, will face each other in battle. Kakashi agrees to these terms, but insists on being allowed to eliminate Tobi with Kamui when he comes to fetch Sasuke; Tobi stops him, telling him it won't work, and leaves with Sasuke.

Arikurin returns to Konoha with Karin and the New Hokage Kakashi

After Sasuke retreated with Tobi, Arikurin told Karin that she was coming with them to Konoha; Karin resigned to her fate as she had no choice, being warned by the ANBU not to try anything. As they return to the village they were met by three Root members. They inquired about what had happened. Sai affirmed that the seal disappearing was proof that Danzō had died. He then encouraged them to speak with Kakashi whom he addressed as the "new Hokage" about Root's future.

Final Meeting of Root

The remaining members of Root meet at HQ

That same evening, all remaining members of Root met to discuss the future. Also during the meeting, Tanuki and many other members of Root became disenchanted with Konohagakure. Blaming the village for the fall of Root, they abandoned all ties to Konoha. Driven by revenge, Tanuki dedicated the remaining years of his life to completing his project.

Arikurin meets with the Konoha Council

Days later, Tsunade has awoken from her coma. The elders decide to have Tsunade resume her role as Hokage in order to present a stabilised front, relieving Kakashi. Arikurin is also called to a council of Konoha's tacticians to discuss strategies for the coming war and any preparations that will need to be made. Shikamaru notes that Arikurin has one of the few jutsus that can help seal or suppress tailed beast chakra. He if officially promoted to a Jonin.

Power Arc

Arikurin arrives to help

Arikurin and his teammates were sent to back up Team Kakashi who were investigating what was happening at The Hole located in the Tonika Village. When Team Fue arrives, they repel a Nine-Tailed Naruto clone tries to attack Dokku and the orphans. Shikari and Shimora are soon cornered by the reincarnated puppets. The combined efforts of Arikurin, Might Guy, and Lee force the beast to search for more power. After the beast absorbs Naruto's chakra, it grows in size and fires a Tailed Beast Ball in far away, missing Yamato, Sai, Deidara and Hidan who are fighting outside the village. Kabuto tries to control it, but to no avail. It continues to grow in size again and starts to devastate the Hachō Village, eats Naruto alive and retreats.

Arikurin investigates the ringing

They head to the Hole and investigate Kabuto's intention in the meanwhile. The closer they get to the Hole, Arikurin begins hears an unfamiliar "Ringing" sound, much like a musical instrument. He guided the Konoha-Nin to where he hears the unfamiliar sounds. They soon arrived on the scene. Arikurin recognizes Disonasu from his Bingo Book, reveals him as a former Akatsuki subordinate whose specialty is the field of Summoning Technique, having researched Impure World Reincarnation with Orochimaru. It is later revealed the village head summoned the Saezuri from a scroll. The ringing noise Arikurin heard, was his Harmonization with Shininishiki's Drum.

Arikurin immobilizes Hidan

Kabuto then summons his puppets, the Nine-Tailed Naruto Clone, Hidan, and Deidara. A fight soon breaks out. During the fight, Kakashi traps Deidara in an earth style dome. Arikurin faces HIdan first and strikes him in the chest, immobilizing him with vibrations. Disonasu momentarily escapes as Kabuto faces Shikamaru and the rest Team Asuma. As Yamato tried to restrain Disonasu, he used the seven Sounds to activate the device, raising the Ama no Hoko above ground. It opened the area where Naruto faced the clone and drained the lake as an obelisk rose and created a storm.

Arikurin uses the Saezuri

Absorbing the power within the Ama no Hoko, the Nine-Tailed Naruto Clone mutated into a hydra-tailed version of the Nine-Tails while sending Disonasu to his death. Overpowered, Naruto almost gave in to the Nine-Tails' offer for power when Minato's voice urges the boy to control the tailed beast as Naruto is engulfed in a six-tailed chakra cloak in the Nine-Tails' image. Looking for a way to stop it, Arikurin then recreated the sound pattern produced by the seven metal bars in the Saezuri. He plays multiple pattern combinations of the 7 sounds until he finds the correct pattern needed to deactivate it the Ama no Hoko. At the same time, though followed by Kakashi Hatake, Kabuto Yakushi manages to take his leave in midst of the ensuing chaos.

Gamashiki trained Arikurin in the ways of the toad, most prominently senjutsu. Using Sage Mode made Arikurin's techniques stronger, enhanced his physical parameters, and utilised the Frog Kata taijutsu style. Later, Arikurin received word that Kabuto escaped with Yamato as a captive. In addition to this, Anko and the Infiltration and Reconnaissance Party, believe they have found the Akatsuki base of operations.

Confrontation

Day One

Team Fue and the Third Division

Arikurin is originally of the Allied Shinobi Forces' Third Division. While seeking out an Akatsuki force, they notice and heads towards one of the Surprise Attack Division's distress flares. The Third Division arrives in time to save them from the reincarnated Gari, Pakura, Haku, and Zabuza Momochi. Soon after, Zabuza uses the Hiding in Mist Technique to hide his and the others' movements, putting the Third Division on the defensive. As the battle gets under-way, Zabuza covers the battlefield in a thick mist under the cover of which the reincarnated shinobi attack. Cautioning his troops before they attack, Kakashi tells them to get into the Manji Formation in order to protect each others' backs.

Amidst the battle, the previous generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were summoned to the field in order for Akatsuki to retain the upper hand, with Zabuza soon joining them whilst wielding his broken Kubikiribōchō. Arikurin notices Jinin Akebino retrieve Kabutowari from within a scroll that was in Mangetsu Hōzuki's possession. Entering the fray whilst concealed by a thick mist, Jinin began a silent massacre, driving his axe into the adversaries' weapons, before hammering through their defences. Arikurin and Jinin begin to fight, Jinin is shocked that his cannot cut through Arikurin's blade.

Then, Kakashi asks Arikurin to use his Byakugan to see through the mist and to help stop the & Ninja Swordsman. Not to far over, Fuguki Suikazan uses his hair to launch barrages of needles to kill members of the Allied Shinobi Forces. Fuguki is ultimately incapacitated when Arikurin manages to slice through his torso with the providing an opportunity for comrades to complete his sealing before his body heals. During that time, Kakashi developed a plan to trap Zabuza and end his Hiding in Mist Technique. After Haku is momentarily defeated, Kakashi attacks once again and he and Zabuza strike simultaneously, but this time Kakashi manages to evade the great blade and pierce Zabuza. With Zabuza's and Haku's sealing, the mist cleared and Kakashi commands the Kubikiribōchō.

Elsewhere, Naruto left the Falls of Truth to investigate and was met by a contingent of Konoha-nin, amongst them Iruka Umino. Iruka tried to convince him to go back to his training, but Naruto bypassed them and, from entering Sage Mode, sensed the ongoing Fourth Shinobi World War. Him alongside Killer B broke through the barrier confining them. Back at the battlefield with night soon approaching, the swordsmen seemingly retreat. With no sign of the enemy, a wary Kakashi Hatake tells the Third Division to rest up while they can while maintaining a half-hour guard shift. Arikurin later delivers intel from headquarters on the ninja swordsmen to Kakashi. They formulate a plan of attack for the next day.

Not long after, Headquarters sends a giant scroll and carrier to the division which Kakashi gives to Sai in order to use the fūinjutsu taught to him by Danzō Shimura. Rock Lee is assigned as Sai's bodyguard as he would be rendered unable to defend himself while he used the technique. Sai, however, is still apprehensive about using the technique as it required him to use "emotional energy".

Arikurin exposes a White Zetsu disguised as an ally

While on guard, Arikurin is attacked and exposes a White Zetsu clone impersonating an ally. He is shocked how he wasnt able to detect an enemy presence. Arikurin places him under a genjutsu. Interrogating the White Zetsu clone, Arikurin learns that the clones can siphon a person's chakra and assume their form with no one able to tell the real ninja from a White Zetsu. He reports the information to Kakashi, who reports it to headquarters. At HQ, Shikaku receives the information and Ao informs him of chakras disappearing all over the divisions. Shikaku then begins to formulate a counter-measure against this imminent threat and find the imposters. Arikurin takes responsibility for monitoring the perimeter with his Byakugan. For the remainder of the night, the Allied Shinobi Forces' headquarters scrambled to deal with White Zetsu Army clones infiltration issue.

Day Two

Arikuing fighting off Jinpachi

As dawn broke the next day, the division is set upon by The Seven Swordsman's of the Mist, all of whom take to guerilla tactics to divide the division's forces and take them down individually. Upon realizing this, Kakashi sends word to his division to stay together. Jinpachi Munashi attempted to attack Arikurin from his blind spot, but he was able to avoid the attack. Utilising the unique blastsword Shibuki, Jinpachi intuitively combined expert swordsmanship with destructive explosions. Due to the significant quantity of explosive tags Arikurin uses his sonic dash technique to get in close and defeat Jinpachi. Sai finally realises that emotions and even negative feelings were not always detrimental, and is finally able to use the Sealing Technique: Tiger Vision Staring Bullet to seal him away.

Only a few reincarnated shinobi still remained on the battlefield prompting Gari to retreat. While pursing him, Arikurin would find Monga, Ruka, and Maki in a battle with Pakura. After killing Monga, Pakura attempted to attack Maki, but she is stopped by Arikurin and Omoi. In their next successful coordinated attack, the kenjutsu duo manage to incapacitate Pakura but Gari arrives, freeing her. As the battle continues, Arikurin is able to block Pakura's flaming orbs with his Shindo Tanto. As she was about to be sealed, Gari intervened and cut the length of a binding cloth that Maki used to restrain Pakura. Both Gari and Pakura are ultimately incapacitated by Arikurin Genjutsu and sealed.

Arikurin defeats Tayuya

Elsewhere, Otogakure's Sound Four is reincarnated on the battlefield. Arikurin hears Tayuyas flute and sends a swiftlet to find its location and report to him. Meanwhile members of Konoha's disbanded Sasuke Recovery Team make short work of these opponents, displaying just how much they had grown over the years despite the amplification of their opponent's cursed seals. Their defeat activates Space–Time Technique Formula: Underworld Turnover, separating the Recovery Team's souls from their bodies and trapping them within a barrier where they must fight the Sound Four until their real bodies eventually die. After Arikurin's swiftlets finds the Barrier, Team Fue quickly moves to that location. The only way to save them was if they were able to locate and recall their souls somehow as not even the sensory barrier at HQ was able to locate their souls. With his Melody Arm, Arikurin successfully destroys the barrier, freeing the disbanded Sasuke Recovery Teams' souls which return to their bodies.

Arikurin vs Hayate

Not long after, they receive word from Shikaku that the Medical Camp of the Logistical Support and Medical Division was in need of assistance. Kabuto reincarnates a Suna and Kumogakure shinobi to form a team with Hayate Gekkō. This team infiltrates the medical division's camp and causes mayhem on the ground. There, they steal the KIA scroll that was being formulated by the medics. Team Fue's tracking skills are utilized and they quickly track the stolen scroll. They arrive in time to save Yūgao Uzuki from a fatal blow by a Suna reincarnated shinobi. Yugao was left hurt and immobilized during the fight, forcing Arikurin to fight him as Shimora healed her. The 2 swordsmans would clash their Dance of the Crescent Moon techniques. However, during the fight, Kabuto attempted to take over Hayate's consciousness. The momentary pause allowed Shikari to pierce him with as Ice sword. Hayate was later sealed by Arikurin. Yugao then returned the scroll the the Medical Division.

Naruto and Team Fue continue to wipe out the imposters among the forces

With the White Zetsu infiltration Arikurin remained with Team Fue and considered others hostile enemies. While moving through the forest, he senses an unfamiliar chakra signature moving at them with an intense speed. Assuming it to be more white Zetsu, he attacks with Crescent Moon Dance. Shikari and Shimora then prepare for a follow-up attack but the unknown person is revealed to be one of Naruto's clones who catches all 3 blades. Arikurin explains that his chakra signature sounds different and apologies for the attack. They continue weeding out the Zetsu that had infiltrated the Alliance's ranks, and defeating any other remaining Zetsu.

Elsewhere at the Mountains' Graveyard, Sasuke recovers from his surgery yet is told by White Zetsu to keep the bandages on for the time being but he sets him ablaze with Amaterasu. Sasuke removes his bandages to see with his newly evolved Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Naruto's clone is eventually forced out of the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode due to exhaustion. As Arikurin and Team Fue continued to defeat White Zetsu, the Sensor Division detected a new threat near the Fourth Division: Mu, who split himself before his sealing, and the reincarnated Madara Uchiha. HQ then asks Arikurin and others to move to the location and join the Fourth Division. Throwing them into further confusion, Temari reminds them that the person who they thought was Madara had been spotted elsewhere with an army of his own, leading them all to wonder who that masked man truly was.

Climax

Arikurin first attack on Madara is thwarted

Immediately upon arriving, Arikurin began to gather nature energy as he knew the real fight was jst about to start. Kabuto points out that he has restored Madara to a state beyond his prime and Madara tests this on the Fourth Division. He pushes forward and takes down a large portion of the Fourth Division using only taijutsu and kenjutsu to dominate them, with the aid of his Sharingan to evade their attacks. Arikurin, who has entered Sage Mode, hits Madara with an Senjutsu enhanced blade attack that sends him away. However, little to no damage is done, and Arikurin's Sage mode disappears.

Madara then uses a powerful flame technique on the alliance, who barely manage to counter it with their combined water techniques. He re-enters the battle, continuing to only use taijutsu to dominate them. Madara wreaks even more havoc on the Fourth Division. Arikurin, who has reentered sage mode, dashes close to Madara and strikes with Shindo Tanto at maximum power. Madara, shocked at the strength of this attack, takes a sword from the body of a dead shinobi. Arikurin is able to go toe-to-toe with Madara for a series of mutual blade strikes.

But he then asks Arikurin if he wants to dance and subsequently, activates his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo.. As knocks Arikurin away with Susanoo's word, he proceeds to defeat even more of them. He is stopped by Gaara's sand. Gaara, Ōnoki and Arikurin manage to corner Madara with their techniques. Finally, Naruto enters Sage Mode and after Gaara takes Madara away from the Susanoo, he attacks him with a Wind Release: Rasenshuriken. However, despite the combined efforts, he activates his Rinnegan and absorbs Naruto's attack.

Realising his enemies were too dangerous for him to hold back, Madara retreats to the top of a rock formation, and to Arikurin's horror summons a meteorite. As the meteorites plummets towards them, Ōnoki tells them not to give up before trying. He flies into the sky and uses his Earth Release: Ultralight-Weight Rock Technique in an attempt to stop it. Arikurin, inspired by Onoki's words, Arkurin decides to help Ōnoki weaken the boulder with his Melody Arm. He propels to himself upward toward the meteorite aided by Swiftlet Wings.

Arikurin survives Madara's meteorite

As the giant meteorite descends, Gaara orders everyone to retreat. Flying upward behind Onoki's tailwind, Arikurin gathers chakra in his hand and sound energy in his Melody Arm. Arikurin releases a massive sound wave from him arm combined with to help weaken the overall density of the meteorite. Along with the aid of Gaara and his sand, they are finally able to stop the meteorite. Madara, however, adds a second meteorite to his attack. Both fall upon and devastate the Fourth Division. In the aftermath, Arikurin is found severely wounded but still alive. With his ears ringing and zero feeling in his right arm the Five Kage appear.

Arikurin pursues Mu

Tsuande heals Arikurin and the Five Kage engage Madara in battle. Reforming in the wake of the collision, Kabuto had Mū approach the few remaining survivors of the Alliance, whilst providing Madara with a detailed overview of current affairs. However, when the two resumed their attack, they are repelled by Tsunade and A. Recovering from A's punch, As Mei created a thick mist, obscuring the battlefield, Kabuto positioned Mū right in front of Madara but he was easily knocked away by a lightened A. Dodai then enlisted Arikurin and the Hokage Guard Platoon to help go after Mū.

With the Impure World Reincarnation released, Mu's soul is free'd

As the battle between the Kage and Madara waged on, they continued to give chase to the evasive Mū. As night starts to fall, Arikurin is able to finally corner Mu and attempt to seal him. Elsewhere, the Kage cannot last much longer, Madara having multiple clones that are each using Susanoo to outnumber them five-to-one. Before he can wage a final attack, Madara is engulfed in light and his soul begins to ascend, Kabuto having elsewhere been defeated. Madara releases himself from the influence of the Impure World Reincarnation, granting him an immortal body. Free to do what he wants, Madara decides to go find Naruto. The Kage try to stop him, but each is brought to the verge of death in an unseen battle and Madara escapes. With the Impure World Reincarnation released, Arikurin watched alongside his comrades as Mū was enveloped in a light of sorts before beginning to deconstruct.

Arikurin arrives to assist with the ten tails

Later, Arikurin and the rest of the Allied Shinobi Forces are sent to assist Naruto in his battle with the Ten-Tails. The Allies collaborate against the Ten-Tails and succeed in restraining it, but the Ten-Tails matures to its next form and releases itself. Though this was countered easily enough, they have the Ten-Tails destroy the Allied Shinobi Forces' Headquarters to prevent future collaborations. The Allies made individual attacks against the Ten-Tails, but none had any effect. At the same time, the Ten-Tails started raining wooden skewers all over the battlefield, killing many.

Arikurin receives Nine-Tails Chakra from Naruto

Dying, Neji collapsed on Naruto's shoulder. Hinata brought Naruto back to his senses by reminding him of all the people who had given their lives to protect him and whose memories he would be insulting if he had given up now. As Naruto thanked her, he took her hand and coated her with some of Kurama's chakra. Eventually, a fully recharged B entered Tailed Beast Mode, charged towards the Ten-Tails, making it ingest its own Tailed Beast Ball. It successfully exploded and allowed the others to gain time. Naruto enters back into his cloak and creates a few shadow clones. They begin distributing Kurama's chakra to every member of the Allied Shinobi Forces, each one gaining the same chakra shroud, increasing their strength and protecting them from harm.

Madara aids Obito by breaking the Nara's hold of the Ten-Tails, but their next attack is foiled by a barrage of attacks. The Alliance is surrounded by the Ten-Tails' tails as Naruto cuts through a couple tails with a Rasenshuriken, and the Alliance moves as one towards the Ten-Tails. Naruto throws a second Rasenshuriken, which phases through Obito, but severs his connection to the beast. Lee propelled towards Madara and remorselessly bisected the Uchiha with a powerful kick, also destroying Madara's connection to the beast. They then sensed the Ten-Tails was about to attack, which Kakashi tried to stop with Kamui. Obito intercepted him and they teleported away, leaving Arikurin and the others to endure the Ten-Tails' Tenpenchii. The Ten-Tails's technique causes massive destruction. Kurama's chakra protected everyone, but it faded in the aftermath.

Naruto was left quite exhausted. Then the Ten-Tails prepared to attack with another Tailed Beast Ball, increases it's power. Grateful, Arikurin and some shinobi stand as Naruto's defence as Sakura heals him. The Ten-Tails fires its enormous Tailed Beast Ball at the Allied Shinobi Forces. Shikamaru, with the help of Ino's technique, devises a last-minute plan to counter its powerful attack by creating a barrier and at the same time have B shoot Tailed Beast Balls to change its trajectory. However, the ball manages to pierce through barriers created by the Alliance and B quickly blocks the ball on his own. Before it could reach them, however, the Tailed Beast Ball was suddenly teleported away by Naruto's reincarnated father, Minato Namikaze.

Arikurin defeats multiple fission beings

The First, Second, and Third Hokage arrived soon afterward and, along with Minato, erected a barrier around the Ten-Tails to confine it. Because he must stay with the barrier, Hashirama creates five wood clones to act on his behalf. Four lead an Allied attack against the Ten-Tails' minions while the fifth engages Madara. As the Alliance goes inside the barrier, the Ten-Tails creates an army of monsters to defend itself from attack. These monsters possessed an animal-like shape and operating on all fours with spiked protrusions on their heads and backs. Arikurin is able to defeat many at a time using Vibration Control : Shuriken, but Ten-Tails constantly creates bigger and more powerful monsters. Without the aid of Narutos chakra, it wasn't long until the alliance began to once again lose.

Obito suddenly appears badly injured, on top of the Ten-Tails. Madara senses his return and his weakened state and exerts his control over Obito to try and force him to perform the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique and bring him back to life. With his Byakugan, Arikurin notes a foreign chakra in Obito. Realising Madara is controlling Obito in order to fully revive himself, Arikurin and six additional wood clones to go after Madara and stop him. The attempt to attack him fails, as Minato's shadow clone, who is able to teleport to Obito's location using the same Flying Thunder God seal he branded Obito with years earlier, cuts him down. However, Obito is able to resist Madara's control and Minato's attack. He seals the Ten-Tails into himself, becoming its jinchūriki.

With his new power, Obito rips down the barrier, easily shrugs off another Gate of the Great God, and tears through one of the wood clones before it has a chance to respond. Analyzing his power, it seems attacks do not affect him and his Truth-Seeking Balls overcame every defense that is placed against him. Having learned that Obito is susceptible to senjutsu, Arikurin summons Gamashiki and begins to infuse nature energy. With a weakness discovered, Obito trapped the Alliance in a barrier and began charging multiple Tailed Beast Balls that he would use to wipe out everyone within its confines.

Naruto provides the alliance with cloaks again

Minato noted that he wouldn't be able to teleport them all away in time, so Naruto came up with a different approach: he linked his chakra with Minato and remotely restored the Alliance's chakra cloaks, networking everyone in with Minato's Flying Thunder God Technique, allowing him to teleport everyone out of the barrier. Sasuke's Susanoo equips itself onto Naruto's senjutsu-enhanced Tailed Beast Mode mantle. Obito manifests a large shield and the Sword of Nunoboko, which the Sage of the Six Paths used to shape the world. Naruto creates nine Rasengan – one in each of Kurama's tails – and calls for his comrades to join the fray. Each of them jump into Kurama's tails and are donned in Tailed Beast Mode mantle. They then launch the Rasengan at Obito, making way for Naruto and Sasuke to slash through his defence and land a devastating blow. To move ahead with his plans, Obito created a replica of the God Tree, the first step in performing the Infinite Tsukuyomi. The tree started absorbing chakra from those nearby until they die, a fate that Naruto nearly succumbed to until he was saved by the Third Hokage.

Sasuke then coated his Susanoo around Naruto's Tailed Beast Mode, granting the Kurama-avatar a sword and armour. Sensing that it was the final exchange, Obito created a sword and shield of his own out of Truth-Seeking Balls. Naruto created a Rasengan in each of the Kurama-avatar's tails, which his friends from Konoha guide in a coordinated assault to Obito's shield, destroying it. As soon as Naruto and Sasuke sliced through Obito with their sword, tailed beasts' chakra then began to emerge from the Uchiha's body. This begins the great tug-of-war against Obito who struggles desperately to retain the chakra of the beasts. Arikurin and Sai help by using the Sealing Technique: Chained Tiger Bullet. Though Obito tries to resist the pull of both Naruto's words and the Shinobi Alliance's grip on his chakra, the chakra of the nine tailed beasts is removed from him and he falls to the ground, his power and transformation gone and his battle lost.

Madara stops Arikurin's sneak attack

Before Obito dies, Madara has Black Zetsu merge with Obito, forcing him to revive Madara. This comes with a price as his eyes begin to crumble; the former having forfeited his eyes during his life. Giving Madara no time to relent, Sasuke engulfs him in the flames of Amaterasu, but to no avail. Gaining access to his full power, though without his dōjutsu, Madara was easily able to overwhelm the shinobi in the surrounding area. He then absorbs Hashirama's senjutsu chakra and going to capture the nine tailed beasts. Gaara and Shukaku attack Madara with Wind Release: Sand Buckshot, slowing his movements so that the other tailed beasts, Killer B, and Naruto can attack him. Once he's down, Gaara and Shukaku combine efforts to create a bigger and stronger Desert Layered Imperial Funeral, which Madara escapes using his Susanoo. Madara returns once he obtains one of his Rinnegan.

Arikurin is stopped by Madaras Limbo

Despite the their efforts, the tailed beasts - including those sealed in B and Naruto - are successfully sealed into the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. While Madara prepares to become the Ten-Tails' next jinchūriki, Arikurin launches a desperate attack to stop him only to be stopped by Madara's Limbo. Madara pins him with multiple black receivers. Using what little mobility he has, Tobirama attacks him with Heavenly Weeping to distract Madara while Sasuke attacks him from behind. Madara blocks the attack and, over Tobirama's pleas to stop, mortally wounds Sasuke. Madara leaves and Arikurin can only watch as Sasuke's life fades.

Karin heals Arikurin

Determined to save an injured Sasuke, Karin soon appeared manifesting chains to destroy parts of the statue. Karin would heal Arikurin after remembering his chakra signature from the Five Kage Summit and thanking him for rescuing her some time back. Sasuke regains consciousness and finds that the damage to his body has been healed by Kabuto, who escaped the Izanami and now feels indebted to Itachi. Sasuke's left eye, meanwhile, has become a Rinnegan. Sasuke releases Tobirama from Madara's restraints and has him teleport them to Madara's location. When Sasuke arrived, Naruto entered Six Paths Sage Mode and they started overwhelming Madara. Realising his window was closing, Madara went after Kakashi and took his Mangekyō Sharingan, using it to follow Obito with Kamui. Sakura appeared shortly afterward, sent by Obito so Madara wouldn't kill her.

Arikurin is trapped

Madara soon returned, now having both his Rinnegan and Black Zetsu in control of Obito's body. Madara recalls the text from the stone tablet, and removes the plating from his forehead, revealing a third eye. The eye opens, and is reflected on the moon, casting the Infinite Tsukuyomi. As Madara started explaining how he had saved the world, he was stabbed in the back by Black Zetsu. Black Zetsu then transferred to Madara's body from Obito's and forced him to absorb the world's chakra, converting him into a woman that Naruto and Sasuke recognised as Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

Arikurin's Infinite Tsukuyomi dream

Arikurin is freed from the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

The bright light traps Arikurin alongside most people in a genjutsu and restrained by the Ten-Tails' roots. Tobirama unsuccessfully tries to free Arikurin from the roots of the God Tree. While trapped, Arikurin dreams of his life if he remained in the Land of Sound with his parents and family during a time of complete peace. After Naruto was able to defeat and reform Sasuke, Arikurin along with the rest of the Shinobi Alliance were released from the Infinite Tsukuyomi. The tailed beasts are then freed from Sasuke's Chibaku Tensei.

Post-Fourth Shinobi World War

Arikurin is reversed summoned by Gerotatsu

Arikurin is reversed summoned by Gerotatsu. Shiinshiki then visits Arikurin in a dream. He confirms that his mother, who is still alive, is the "musical source" Gamashiki told him about in the Great Toad Sage's prophecy. Arikurin summons Gamashiki and asks him to tell him everything he knows about Shiinshiki. After learning about Shiinshiki's past, Arikurin visits Shiinshiki's shrine. There he is greeted by the leader of The Keepers of Shiin's Will.
