Ayame Ōtsutsuki (大筒木菖蒲; Literally meaning Iris Flower Big Bamboo Tree) is the second daughter of Chiyoko Ōtsutsuki and Kaminoshi and their fourth child. She is the twin of Asami Ōtsutsuki.

Ayame is highly skilled in the fields of Kenjutsu, Ninjutsu, and Taijutsu, being trainedby her mother alongside her sisters for years on end since early childhood. Being a twin, she was especially trained alongside Asami in the are of Dual Collaboration Techniques, as well as the Gentle Fist fighting style, thus allowing them to drasticall increase the deadliness of their fighting styles when used in tandem.

- Ayame, just like all of Chiyoko Ōtsutsuki and Kaminoshi's children, got her last name from her mother, as her father has no last name. Her actual last name would be Korimachi, but Kana Korimachi gave Chiyoko her last name in honor of her mother.
