By releasing the Chidori in every direction, an electrical discharge flows from the Sasuke's entire body allowing him to affect multiple enemies. When using this attack on a great number of enemies at once, it can effectively double as an instant defense. The body of the person touched by the Chidori will misinterpret the lightning nature as "electrical signals from the nerves", making its muscles contract. This causes the body to involuntarily go stiff, while at the same time receives damage. This attack can also be channelled through the ground to increase the range of the attack.
In the universe of Diaries of the Hidden Waterfall, Sasuke Uchiha instead developed this on his own in battle during the Chūnin Exams' second round. Emiri Uchiha later copied the technique which was further copied by Seika Uchiha during the interlude. Sasuke can further enhance the range of this technique by imbuing it with senjutsu, a practice Emiri also copied later. Sasuke's two children, Kazumina Uchiha and Kazami Suiren, independently developed this technique as part of their activities in the Anbu. Sarada Uchiha developed the technique following rigorous training from her father after her team's defeat against Deepa during the Kara Actuation Arc.
