Chikao Hagoromo (羽衣千佳雄, Hagoromo Chikao) is an elite Jōnin of Takigakure, the commander of the newly established Takigakure Anbu, and a skilled warfare tactician. A descendant of the Hagoromo Clan and a staunch supporter of his distant kin’s campaign for the Hagoromo Dynasty, he joined the Abyssal Coil and quickly rose through the ranks from an Outer to an Inner member. He is a man who does not play games nor tolerate anything that stands in the way of his clan's goals.
Backstory[]
Origins in the Warring Period[]
Chikao Hagoromo was born during the latter days of the Warring States Period, when the lands were still rife with conflict, and smaller nations like Takigakure struggled for survival against the larger Hidden Villages. He was the son of a war orphan, a child who bore the distant but powerful blood of the Hagoromo Clan, a lineage that traced its roots to the Sage of Six Paths himself.
However, unlike his distant kin in Konohagakure, who wielded the power of the Rinnegan or Six Paths Chakra, Chikao’s bloodline was considered impure, a diluted remnant of what once was. Born into poverty and constant war, Chikao learned from an early age that strength was the only truth. His father, a low-ranking shinobi of Takigakure, was slain in battle before Chikao could even remember his face. His mother perished shortly after due to illness, leaving him to survive alone in the streets of Takigakure no Sato, a village hidden within a massive waterfall.
Unlike the powerful shinobi clans of Konoha and Kiri, Takigakure had no noble families, only survivors. Strength was not inherited—it was earned.
From Street Fighter to Shinobi[]
Chikao spent his early years brawling with other orphans, stealing food, and fighting for his survival. He was larger and stronger than most children his age, and by the time he was seven, he was already knocking out adults who tried to abuse him. Recognizing his raw potential, a retired shinobi named Jingo Akabane, an elder of Takigakure, took him in and subjected him to harsh training. Jingo was one of the last practitioners of the Seven Heavens Breathing Method, an ancient martial discipline that few in the world still remembered.
For years, Chikao trained relentlessly under Jingo’s brutal guidance, his body and mind forged into unbreakable steel. His chakra reserves expanded, his body hardened, and his breathing control became second nature. By the time he graduated as a Genin, Chikao was already stronger than most Chūnin, earning the nickname "The Iron-Blooded Demon of Takigakure."
The Silent War Against Konohagakure[]
Despite being a small village, Takigakure harbored resentment toward the Five Great Nations, particularly Konohagakure, which they viewed as a symbol of oppression and unchecked power. During the time of the First Great Ninja War, Takigakure secretly trained elite shinobi to act as assassins, saboteurs, and guerrilla fighters.
As one of Takigakure’s strongest young warriors, Chikao was sent on numerous missions to disrupt Konoha’s forces, assassinate key figures, and sabotage their supply chains. His name became feared among enemy shinobi, as he would slaughter entire squads single-handedly using his sheer brute strength and mastery over the Seven Heavens Breathing Method.
Rising to the Ranks – The Unstoppable Anbu Captain[]
By the time Chikao reached his mid-twenties, he had already been promoted to Jōnin and personally selected by Takigakure’s leader to establish a new Anbu division, one dedicated to protecting the village’s secrets and striking from the shadows. Under his command, the Takigakure Anbu became one of the deadliest black ops units in the world, utilizing a mixture of brutal close-quarters combat, silent assassinations, and large-scale sabotage operations. His leadership was absolute, demanding loyalty, discipline, and an unyielding will. Those who failed him were discarded without hesitation. Chikao did not tolerate weakness, and in return, his subordinates became some of the strongest shinobi in Takigakure’s history.
The Encounter with the Abyssal Coil[]
Despite his loyalty to Takigakure, Chikao always sought greater strength and knowledge. He understood that shinobi villages, no matter how strong, were temporary—mere pawns in the grand scheme of the world. It was during a mission in the Land of Earth that Chikao first encountered a representative of the Abyssal Coil, a mysterious and powerful organization that sought to reshape the shinobi world through eldritch means.
The Abyssal Coil saw potential in Chikao—not just as a warrior, but as a leader of men, someone who could help bring about a new order. They offered him access to forbidden knowledge, ancient techniques, and the power to transcend mortal limits. Seeing the corruption and hypocrisy of the Five Great Nations, Chikao accepted their offer, becoming an Outer Member before quickly rising through their ranks. His loyalty to Takigakure never wavered, but his true allegiance became something greater—the Abyssal Coil's vision of reshaping the world through power and destruction.
Personality[]
Chikao is a cold, methodical, and ruthless individual, possessing a sharp mind for strategy and war. He has no patience for inefficiency or those who hesitate when duty calls. He values strength, discipline, and absolute loyalty, believing that the weak have no place in shaping the future of the shinobi world. Despite his severe demeanor, Chikao is not without vision—he genuinely believes in the restoration of the Hagoromo bloodline, seeing it as the divine right of his people to reclaim their place among the strongest shinobi clans. His leadership style is one of strict control, but his troops revere him for his unwavering presence on the battlefield. He leads by example, always at the forefront of combat, inspiring both fear and admiration. As the commander of Takigakure’s Anbu, Chikao has transformed the village’s elite operatives into a force to be reckoned with. His influence extends far beyond Takigakure, with many rogue operatives, warlords, and shinobi factions respecting—or fearing—his name.
Chakra and Physical Prowess[]
Being a descendant of the Hagoromo Clan, Chikao possesses immense chakra reserves, allowing him to engage in prolonged combat without exhaustion. His chakra is dense and potent, further enhancing his already formidable combat abilities. His stamina enables him to maintain high-intensity combat for hours, making him extremely difficult to wear down.
He can seamlessly chain together high-level jutsu without suffering from chakra depletion, a testament to both his heritage and mastery over his energy. Even after sustaining severe injuries, his sheer willpower allows him to continue fighting far beyond his physical limits. His unyielding endurance makes him an opponent who simply refuses to fall, earning him the title of “The Iron Demon of Takigakure.”
Intelligence[]
Chikao’s greatest weapon is his mind. A natural-born strategist, he possesses an uncanny ability to predict his enemies’ movements and outmaneuver even the most seasoned commanders. He specializes in warfare strategy, siege tactics, and deception, making him an unpredictable and dangerous opponent. He analyzes battlefields in seconds, taking advantage of terrain, enemy weaknesses, and even psychological warfare to ensure victory.
His understanding of shinobi warfare allows him to lead missions that decimate enemy forces with minimal casualties on his side. As a tactician, Chikao does not gamble—every move he makes is measured and deliberate, ensuring that even in the face of overwhelming odds, he always maintains control over the battlefield
Taijutsu[]
Chikao Hagoromo’s mastery over chakra and physical conditioning is not solely a product of his lineage but of relentless discipline and training. At a young age, he was introduced to the Seven Heavens Breathing Method, an ancient and esoteric discipline designed to enhance the body’s efficiency in utilizing chakra, augmenting physical abilities, and sharpening mental clarity. Through years of grueling training, Chikao honed this technique to near perfection, making him one of the most formidable shinobi in Takigakure’s history.
The Seven Heavens Breathing Method is a technique that originated from the warrior-monks of a lost civilization, passed down only to the most disciplined and battle-hardened individuals. It is a method that synchronizes breath, chakra circulation, and muscle contraction, allowing the user to exceed their normal limits without deteriorating their body.Few can truly master all seven levels of this breathing method, as it requires not only rigorous physical endurance but also an unparalleled connection with one’s chakra flow. However, Chikao not only mastered all seven stages but also modified them, integrating them seamlessly with his fighting style.
