Daijashin no Onkei (大蛇神の恩恵, literally meaning: Blessing of the Great Serpent God) is a blood-bound hiden bestowed upon Banri by Yamata no Orochi, the legendary eight-headed and eight-tailed serpent, who has found favor in his late kin's spawn. This blessing exists as both curse and venom of the Endless Maw, that awakened Banri’s latent potential, granting him a wondrous yet tortuous power.
Overview[]
With Daijashin no Onkei, Orochi's venom manifests as a black, tar-like toxin that flows through Banri's veins that nearly corrodes all it touches. It does not merely enhance him, it warps his flesh and chakra into something neither fully celestial nor entirely yōkai; an emergence of the Abyssal Serpent (深淵の蛇, Shin'en no Hebi) as Yamata no Orochi claims. As such, Banri gains immense regenerative properties through the venom, allowing him to rapidly heal minor injuries, regrow extremities, or even survive decapitation at an agonizing cost. His might eclipses what it has previously been, rivaling several of his Orochi’s heads at once. He may also invoke the Abyssal Serpent at will via bodily transfiguration, the entity's obsidian-like scales and hefty head and maw erupting from his form.
Despite all the power that Yamata no Orochi may offer, this blessing is torment upon the body and mind. Banri's instincts grow predatory and his reasoning blunted as he becomes one with the Abyssal Serpent, consumed by hunger insatiable.
