The Demonic Illusion: Scattering Butterflies (魔幻・蝶散れ) is a unique genjutsu devised by Akigumo Kurama to serve as an illusionary follow-up maneuver to be used in conjunction with her special butterflies techniques. This illusionary technique starts right after Aki creates the spectral creatures: directing the butterflies to rush toward a target or spread to cover an area upon being manifested onto the field. During their fluttering about, they will subtly produce waves of Yin-energy that immediately activate a genjutsu: ensnaring anyone who has the misfortune of perceiving their presence. Be it sight, hearing, or even the detection of the special chakra that is used to produce them: the moment anyone in the butterflies vicinity detects them, they will be dragged into a genjutsu of Aki's choosing.
It should be noted that this technique is not a single genjutsu, but rather a group of them. In a complex maneuver that combines the principles of Tenome and Mugenjō, the spells are cast one-by-one and stitched together like an illusionary quilt. While the hallucinations generated aren't very strong, the maneuver remains a versatile move as it leaves those caught with little options other than to go through the steps of genjutsu dissipation one at a time: forcing them to expel more and more chakra as a result. As the number of illusions are well and truly one thousand in number, even someone with Tailed Beast-level reserves will find themselves drained: a factor that Akigumo unhesitatingly preys upon in battle.
That said, there is also a second option where Akigumo is in fact able to assault her opponent with a singular, extreme phantasm. This mental attack is the mental equivalent to a dozen blows from Tsunade Senju while in her most empowered state. As such it is effortlessly able to destroy any mental barricades and bring even a Tailed Beast to their knees, if not render them unconscious.
