After establishing direct contact with their opponent through a simple punch, the user utilises Explosion Release to subsequently generate an enormous explosion from the initial point of physical contact. This explosion is powerful enough to completely obliterate an opponent far larger than the user. Due to the directionality of the blast, the user minimises any potential repercussions, such as being struck by resultant debris and even recoil appears to be completely negated.
Kazuya is able to easily use this technique or at least perfectly imitate it even though he doesn't have Explosion Release. He does this by creating a ball of fire in his hand through the Star Pearl Technique. Once created he thrusts the ball at his opponent and flows lightning dark chakra into the ball with the Electrocution Technique. When the ball of fire hits the opponent the lightning dark chakra causes it to explode in a similar way as the explosion in a genuine Landmine Fist. If enough dark chakra is used the explosion can be just as large and powerful as the genuine thing and possibly even stronger. At lower levels the explosion acts more like the explosion seen in Explosion Release: Exploding Palm to allow Kazuya turn this normally offensive technique into a defensive one. This feat of using a Kekkei Genkai technique without having the Kekkei Genkai and with E-ranked techniques no less has earned him the respect of many. Kazuya often calls the technique Exploding Art: Landmine Fist or Star Pearl Explosion Technique.
