The user creates small balls of fire which Momiji Densetsu has referred to as "spirits." These balls or wisps, seem to have personalities of their own and are capable of human speech to an extent where Momiji has argued with them.

It is named after the Japanese Yokai, Onibi. This is due to the fact that the words "will-o'-wisp" or "jack-o'-lantern" are often translated as Onibi.
