The Floating Bridge to Heaven Technique (天の浮橋の術, Amenoukihashi no Jutsu, Literally meaning: Floating bridge between heaven and earth technique) is an ancient and powerful Space-Time Ninjutsu originally created by a descendant of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.

Overview[]

History[]

This technique was created by an unknown descendant of the Ōtsutsuki during the era of the Sage of Six Paths. Kaguya Ōtsutsuki possessed the unique ability to teleport instantaneously and manipulate dimensions: able to combine the two so seamlessly, that many believed them to be one and them. The two abilities were used as the basis to create the Floating Bridge to Heaven Technique: a Space-Time Ninjutsu that has mechanics that are similar, but is overall less potent than Yomotsu Hirasaka.

The Floating Bridge to Heaven Technique originally got its start within Ninshū: by linking ones chakra across great distances, the caster could manifest portals to take them the desired chakra signature. However, after the rise of Ninjutsu, humans lost the ability to connect their chakra to one another, and so this technique was lost to history for a time. Later, during the Era of Warring States, a scroll with information on the technique would be uncovered by the Uzumaki Clan. While the information was not complete, the legendary sealmasters were able to revise the technique into something formidable.

Usage[]

In order for the Floating Bridge to Heaven to be utilized, the user must first create a "Technique Formula" (術式, jutsu-shiki): either pre-written, or a manifesting a seal upon a solid surface. From that seal, a portal will be generated - a tear in space that connects the users current location with a different one they've previously been to, in another part of the world.

By entering through the portal, they are transported into another dimension that appears like an never-ending cavern, where another portal is waiting for them. By simply stepping through it, they will arrive in their sought after destination. Time within the void flows at a far slower rate than that of earthly plane, and so the movement between space and dimensions appear instantaneous. And because it is in another dimension, entering the void completely makes those within in untraceable.

While powerful, the actual speed and potency of the Floating Bridge to Heaven Technique greatly depends on the caster: their chakra prowess, and overall skill determining its effectiveness. When used by a novice, the portal will take several moments to manifest and will dissipate in the same amount of time. However, when in the hands of a master, the tears in space can be created at speeds on par with that of the Flying Thunder God Technique, and the user has full control over the portal: dictating how long it remains, and what is allowed within it.

Improvements[]

Influences[]

"Ame-no-Ukihashi" is the bridge that connects Takama-ga-hara, the heavens, with that of the Earth. Prior to the creation of Japan, Izanagi and Izanami traveled upon the bridge to churn the seas with the Amenonuhoko.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • This technique was created solely because the author wanted a good teleportation technique for his characters to use.
    • Special thanks to Kay for giving me the idea to use Fuinjutsu
