A simple, but highly effective application of the Gentle Fist. In order to use it, one must precisely time their strike in order to parry an opponent's own - in most circumstances, a punch. During a punch, chakra flows in the direction of where the fist goes in order to enhance its overall strength - a simple rule of Shinobi combat. However, through the use of the Gentle Fist, one can disturb this chakra flow by suddenly "piercing" it with the chakra shaped around their fingertips. In turn, this can cause the punch itself to lose all of its impact. Subsequently, if the user's Gentle Fist is potent enough, the victim's chakra flow might go in the opposite direction, forcing a pulse of kinetic energy that forces them backwards as a result. This can also be applied to other techniques, but its name was conceived due to it being used on a fist for the first time.
