Hideyoshi is a well-known shinobi who comes from the famous Nara Clan. He is a popular figure in Konoha and is loved and admired by many citizens and his fellow shinobi. He is the cousin of Yami Nara the Hokage and the Daimyō of the land of fire. Hideyoshi is well versed in the art of shadow manipulation, becoming the first Nara to exceed the limitations of shadow manipulation technique. He is known as the king of shadows as he discovered the Darkforce Realm and was able to create an army of shadows to help him in his times of need. He is a loyal man to the hokage and konoha, a man who would give his life to protect them.
He spent lots of time as an ANBU member becoming an essential member of Root. Yet, he decided that he wants to be a Jōnin. Hideyoshi is the kind of guy who would work in the shadows and manipulate others to do what he wishes. No one understands him or his goals. However, what they don't know is that he seeks the safety of Konoha primarily, he swore to protect Konoha with all his might.
History[]
Hideyoshi was born in a noble family of the Nara clan. His father was a trustworthy shinobi who loved Konoha from his heart. Hideyoshi's father died before Hideyoshi was born, he was killed during the fourth shinobi war giving up his life for the sake of the village and its safety. Hideyoshi's mother was a kindhearted woman who cherished Konoha and devoted her time to protect it. She thought that her son was going to carry his father's legacy as the guardian of Konoha and its people. Hideyoshi was born two months after his father's death. He was a little child with dark brown hair and red ruby eyes which he got from his father.
Hideyoshi grew up under the care of his mother who loved him and hoped that he would be a great shinobi one day who shall carry on his father's legacy. Hideyoshi grew up so fast, it seemed like the days were breezing by like wind. Hideyoshi was six years old, although he was young his mother began teaching him about chakra and the principles of chakra control. He was able to walk on walls using chakra control after training for a month, still that was impressive for a kid of his age. He showed the signs of becoming a great Genjutsu-type shinobi. Hideyoshi was able to make his shadow move slightly when he concentrated. In three months, he was able to use a weakened version of Shadow Imitation Technique.
Hideyoshi made a great deal of progress in his chakra control, it was amazing for a kid of his age to be able to walk on water, which is a thing that genin might find difficult. Since being six years old, his mother began encouraging him to love Konoha and make it his goal to protect it. She told him about the village's great history and how his father died trying to protect it. Hideyoshi was a little sensitive when he talked about his father as he never saw him, he always saw children with their parents playing and enjoying their time. However, he never met his father who deceased guarding the village. This made Hideyoshi resolved to protect the village just like his father.
Realizing that his father died as a result of war, Hideyoshi wanted to stop war. He always sat by himself thinking about what made war and how to stop it and if it is possible to reach true peace. By the age of seven, Hideyoshi entered the academy. He was the youngest student in the academy. He was frowned upon as many students believed that he was too young to enter the academy. Hideyoshi didn't pay any attention to them and tried to learn as much as he could in the academy. The days passed by, Hideyoshi got better and better each day. He was able to use Shadow Imitation Technique with its full effect after five months of learning the weaker version. Hideyoshi turned seven years old, it was time for the graduation exam. The exam was simply to use the Body Replacement Technique which Hideyoshi did. He was promoted to Genin when he was seven years old.
He was put on a four man squad with two other Genin and a Jōnin. Hideyoshi went on various mission, which included catching lost animals and doing errands. Hideyoshi had good chemistry with his teammates as they understood each other and trained together every day, one of the genin being Sei Yamanaka who was later on a rival for Hideyoshi. They enjoyed their time together, laughing and having a blast with practicing together. Of course, there was feud between Hideyoshi and Sei on which hiden jutsu is more efficient. But at the end of the day, they were good friends who cared for each other. It was always hilarious between these two, they challenged each other in everything including who girls liked more. One day, they made a promise to each other, the promise was that they are from that moment and for eternity, eternal rivals.
The two of them honed their skills as Genin, getting better and better each day. Finally, the Chūnin exams approached. Hideyoshi readied himself as he was determined to win these exams. Sei and Hideyoshi did a terrific job in the exmas. Their will to fight each other is what pushed them on to the finals. They displayed a great show of skill. And, finally they had to face each other in the final match of the tournament. It was a well fought-battle that ended in a stalemate between the two. However, they were both promoted to Chūnin, which was when they were ten years old. The rivalry raged on between these two. They began going on higher rank missions that involved fighting, demonstrating astonishing skills for kids of their age. The missions involved catching thieves and bandits.
As time passed, Hideyoshi decided that he wanted to join the ANBU when he was thirteen. Sei however, settled for being a Jōnin while staying away from ANBU by his own wish. This was the first time the two rivals were separated since becoming Genin in the four man squad. After joining the ANBU, Hideyoshi showed to have many techniques added to his arsenal. His shadow manipulation was compared to full-grown men of his clan. He worked under the direct orders of the Hokage, going on discrete missions with the squad he was assigned to. Hideyoshi got really close to the Hokage as he was one of the most loyal ANBU squad members out there, despite his age. He was decisive to protect the Hokage with his life thanks to what his mother taught him and what she told him about his father.
Hideyoshi was training by himself in an arena that he designed for himself to serve the purposes of his training. The young man then wondered what would happen if he attempted a summoning technique without having a contract with any animal. He was curious and wanted to find out, the fifteen-year old attempted the summoning technique not realizing that he was about to open a door to darkness. He was teleported to a place where only darkness and shadows existed, it was called the Darkforce Realm. Shadows took the shape of people, but they had the characteristics of shadows. He found himself surrounded by a couple of shadows who found him to be new to the realm. The shadows wanted to devour Hideyoshi, he attempted throwing weaponry like kunai and shuriken at them, but it phased through them, they were intangible. Hideyoshi decided to attempt a last ditch attack with his shadow imitation technique. He used it on the shadows and was able to pin them in their place. The shadows were astounded by this human child who could manipulate shadows, it was nothing that they had seen before.
To normal shinobi, the Nara clan technique allowed the Nara clan members to control the shadows of their opponents, to the shadows it was not merely that, it was like controlling their entire beings as they were simply shadows. They then took Hideyoshi and explained to him what the realm is and how it worked. Hideyoshi was amazed by that place and was determined to discover more. All of the shadows of the realm were bewildered by the human who can manipulate shadows and in a matter of hours, Hideyoshi was like the king of the realm as all of the shadows served him. He then began training in the realm to improve his skill. The shadows taught him how to go back and forth between the real world and the realm.
Hideyoshi made the Darkforce Realm his training ground, shortly afterwards he realized that the shadows in the realm are able to perform shadow techniques similar to that of the Nara clan. He also learned that his own army of shadows called the shadowkhan would be able to aid him in battle if he needs their help. They can be summoned from the shadows. He also learned that there are a couple of tribes of shadowkhan. He was overwhelmed by the place and how these shadows are capable to such things. Later on, Hideyoshi made his own shadow linked with the realm, shadowkhan could appear from his shadow when he needed them. It didn't cost him any chakra and was a great way of stalling the opponent considering that the shadows are intangible.
He found other properties of the Darkforce realm and the shadowkhan later on in his ventures to the realm. By depending on the realm to augment his shadow manipulatory skills, he was known allover the shinobi nations for "The Shadow Of The Leaf". It seemed like his shadows extended to eternity, he defied all the logic set by the Nara clan thanks to his enhanced shadow skills as a result of training and getting aid from the Darkforce realm.
Hideyoshi spent five years as a regular ANBU, he was then a Root under the direct command of Hanzaemon. He was fond of Hanzaemon who was a Nara that was able to control ANBU and Root. Hideyoshi's skills were boosted greatly after joining Root, his skill was unimaginable. He reached a high-level of shadow maniplation. He was popular allover the land for his shadows, the Twelve Guardian Ninja sent a request for him to join them in protecting Konoha and the Daimyō. However, he refused as he prefers to work in the darkness of the shadows. Years passed and Hideyoshi decided to step down as a Root member and become a Jōnin. He joined his eternal rival Sei, going on high A and S-ranked missions. And, to this day Hideyoshi is watching over Konoha, even though no one feels that he does. He is probably the most concerned shinobi of Konoha. The certain thing is that he is a man that would give up his life to protect Konoha, a man who works from the shadows, who doesn't want fame or glory ... a true Hero.
Personality[]
Hideyoshi has marvelous personality. He is a great person, who enjoys helping others. He is very quiet and doesn't talk much. He always seems very serious when it's something regarding Konoha or any of its people. He is a kind person in general. However, for some reason he tries to cover his kindness with brutality and acting ruthless. He always seems to have a relaxed personality as he doesn't lose his composure. It seems like he never panics and he can quickly analyze the situation and create a counter.
Since being a child, he was taught by his mother that Konoha's safety is his primary goal. She made him resolved to protect Konoha with all his might after telling him that his father died for that reason. He knew that his father died during the war to protect Konoha. It made him think about how war is hurtful and if peace is reachable. He always wondered about those things, until he made an analogy.
Philosophy[]
"Well, to me. Peace is the state when the individual is safe, when he can't be harmed and live in harmony with the other creatures. However, I believe that peace cannot be achieved, and if it was achieved it will be temporary, there is nothing called eternal peace. Since the beginning of man-kind there was no such thing as complete peace, every creature fought for their safety against predators including human who killed lots of creatures, war and peace, darkness and light, wrong and right, think of those as Yin and Yang. Yin can't exist without Yang, and when you find Yang you will surely find Yin. Within the dark world that we live in that is full of hatred and killing, in other words, Yin. There is a spark of light that wants peace, this spark consist of people like you and me, in other words Yang. Even if we reach peace, there will always be some hatred in the world, hatred that will keep growing until it ignites war and killing, yet, another light will be born in such darkness and will bring peace again, the cycle will go on until the end of the world where there is nothing left. And, peace lies in complete darkness, complete darkness cannot be achieved as there will always be light in the dark or rather substance in the dark, or Yang in Yin. The only way to get rid of those is by diminishing existence as a whole, when all that is left is nothing, and that is absolute darkness. So in order to reach peace we have to embrace the darkness, the nothingness, and understand that peace cannot be achieved while existence is present. I strive to achieve the temporary peace, I'm a part of the little spark of light that lies within the darkness. And, to how peace is achieved, well, we need a ruler that will be able to control the whole world, yet, is the right man to do so. And, even if we get this ruler that will bring the world into peace and light, there will be those who oppose him and those who will try to destroy him in order to achieve darkness again. This cycle will go on until the end of humanity, take this from me as a word of advice, never give up, no matter how much darkness remains in the world, you need to realize that there is hope, so don't lose hope so that that little spark of light in the darkness we live in would never be extinguished. Then again, even if you lose hope, there will always be light in the darkness as they cannot exist without each other, just like Yin-Yang." these were his words when he spoke with Uzume Arashi about peace and how he believed peace to be.
He believes life to be like Yin and Yang, he compares everything to them. He thinks that eternal peace is a delusion, something that cannot be achieved no matter how we strive to get it. By saying Peace and War are like Yang and Yin, he means that they both exist and they cannot be separated because wherever there is Yin, you will surely find Yang. This has a deep meaning which indicates that wherever darkness is born, light is born and vice versa. By that he means that even if peace which he contrasts as Yang advances, you will always find hate that will born war, which he correlates as Yin. He uses that metaphor in order to clarify his point, which is that there cannot be eternal peace, there will always be conflict and war is inevitable. However, he thinks that there is temporary peace that can be reached the ruling of the suitable individual, who can sort out this war and put an end to it "temporarily".
Hideyoshi came to believe that the shortest way to reach both peace and power is love. He thought that if love spread allover the world it would be easier to find peace even if it is temporary.

Appearance[]
Hideyoshi is rather glamorous, he is a charming man. He was born with dark brown hair, it was soft like silk and it appeared black in the darkness. After attaining the title of Hokage, he dyed his hair blonde. The reason of him changing his hair color is unknown it was said that he dyed it as a signal of his new beginning and to mark his new era of ruling Konoha. Hideyoshi has a spiky haircut, he changed his prior one after joining the ANBU. His hair is pointing backwards and soft bangs that drop just above his eye it then gets longer on the side of his face. He has moderate eyebrow thickness and his eyelashes are somewhat longer than average, which gives him a "dreamy gaze".
Physically, Hideyoshi is muscular. He has lots of muscles that gives him an intimidating look. And, it made him more "popular" amongst the females. He is also known for his red ruby eyes, his eyes are beautiful, they have a very special color that is red. He wears the ceremonial Hokage robe and the hat with the sign of fire on it to signify him being the Hokage of konoha. He is very cold and that is reflected on his looks, his opponent are immediately struck with fear.
Abilities[]
Hideyoshi is a lethal shinobi with abilities great enough to beat the strongest of foes, his strength lies in his specialty, meaning that he uses Yin-Yang solely to fight. He mastered his clans Hiden, which is their shadow manipulation techniques and he showed great skill in doing so. He mastered shape transformations and began applying it to his shadow techniques which would give him a great variety to choose how he will form his shadows. He also mastered genjutsu and ways to apply it making him a very dangerous opponent.
Taijutsu[]
When it comes to Taijutsu, Hideyoshi would exceed most shinobi out there. Since being a child, Hideyoshi was very talented in Taijutsu, showing that by his physical strength. He was one of the most gifted shinobi physically. He is very strong and very light on his feet. His strength can break bones with a single strike. And he is so fast which makes him so dangerous as he has both, speed, and strength. He is very skillful in Taijutsu and a martial art practitioner. It was displayed in some of his missions that he goes for bone breaking strikes. He usually uses chakra enhancements in order to aide him in his taijutsu and hand to hand combat. He uses his shadows in order to make extensions of his body parts and hardening it to a very high level which served him in many battles before.
Bukijutsu[]
Hideyoshi showed great skill in using weaponry. Being a part of the ANBU, Hideyoshi went on various missions where he needed expertise in weaponry and he found that in his arsenal as he is one of the most skilled weapon users around. He trained on his accuracy reaching pinpoint accuracy and this increased the efficiency of his strikes. He realized that a well placed kunai could kill his opponent instantly. Realizing that, Hideyoshi started training in his weaponry by practicing not only throwing the weapons, but dueling with them as well. He is very skilled with kunai knives and shuriken. He is able to throw them with great speed that his opponents find it heard to avoid his attacks. He depends on traps and using his explosive tags to deal damage. He is able to store his weaponry in his shadow, using Shadow Gathering Technique to throw it or get it out of his shadow. Hideyoshi studied the human body and was able to know the vital spots which he can hit in order to kill his opponent or to knock them unconscious. He is a master of stealth and he uses his weapons in order to kill an opponent without them even realizing.
Hideyoshi's movements were silent that it was compared to Silent Killing and he could suppress his chakra so that he is undetectable. And by using his weaponry skills, he can deal great damage to his opponent especially since he knows where and when to strike. He is quick-witted and is very fast on his feet. His reaction time is superb as he almost expects his opponent's moves, but in reality he just watches them carefully and reacts quickly.

Earth Release[]
Earth Release is Hideyoshi's affinity. He is very skilled in earth techniques. Some say it's because of his clan's connection to earth release. Hideyoshi took low-level techniques and expanded on them creating his own version of every technique. His strength in using earth release techniques was noticeable since childhood. He could perform earth techniques since he was in the academy, of course they were low-level earth techniques. He showed signs of proficiency in earth manipulation. As he grew up, he was able to harden his earth release techniques step-by-step. He was then able to harden them to be as hard as diamonds making them almost unbreakable. However, it still has a weakness to lightning techniques.
Genjutsu[]
Hideyoshi is a master of genjutsu. He can apply genjutsu in many ways. He utilizes the five senses in order to apply his genjutsu efficiently. Hideyoshi studied genjutsu because he found it as a good way to manipulate other's minds. He started training in genjutsu from a very young age. He showed great skill in applying his genjutsu as well as using generic genjutsu. He does have a few specific genjutsu, but he prefers illusions which trick his opponent and turns the tide of the battle. He gained the talent of tricking his opponent into thinking the genjutsu is reality and he makes layers of genjutsu to increase its efficiency and if the opponent breaks a layer of genjutsu he will just find another under him. In short, Hideyoshi's use of genjutsu is nothing less than superb, he's a master by all means.
Hideyoshi uses illusions in order to trick his opponent, but he sometimes uses his genjutsu for torture. One battle against an Uchiha, he used Genjutsu: Senses Manipulation to increase her sensing of pain greatly which would make the slightest scratch terribly painful. He then started squeezing her entire body with his shadows which would cause great pain, this won him the battle as his opponent was knocked unconscious. Hideyoshi uses crows and shadows in his genjutsu whether it's torturing or tricking them. By using many mediums to catch his opponent under his genjutsu, it is almost unescapable. Being very adept in genjutsu, Hideyoshi can cast it with speed as well as efficiency, being able to do so during combat.
As mentioned before, Hideyoshi can use many mediums to apply his genjutsu and make it almost impossible for the opponent to escape him. He uses the five senses in order to apply his genjutsu.
Sight (御目, Ome): Hideyoshi can apply his genjutsu through sight by merely looking in his opponent's eyes or by making distractions which drop his places a genjutsu on his opponent, and depending on distractions which confuse the eyes of a mere second is enough for Hideyoshi to place his opponent under his genjutsu. He also knows of the genjutsu known as "Ephemeral" which drops his opponent under genjutsu with the point of a finger. Hideyoshi showed great skill in doing so as he could put his opponent under his genjutsu with merely meeting eyes and this was a great feet that needed high chakra control which he possessed.
Sound (音, Oto): As a master of genjutsu, Hideyoshi needed other ways to apply his genjutsu. Sound was one of them. Of course, most people use sight as a medium to perform their genjutsu, however, Hideyoshi kept in mind that he could be fighting a shinobi with immunity to this genjutsu as he might be blind. And, he needed many ways to apply his genjutsu in order to make sure that all of his foes can be dropped under genjutsu with no exception. He believes that people depend on sound when their sight is taken meaning that hearing is one of the most important senses for the shinobi coming directly after sight.
Smell (嗅覚, Kyūkaku): Hideyoshi can apply his genjutsu by the sense of smell, by spreading his chakra in the air, he gives it a scent which can be inhaled by the target and that would drop them under his genjutsu. This type of genjutsu proved to be the least expected from opponents.
Touch (嗅覚, Shokkaku): Hideyoshi mastered this style of fighting as he can apply his genjutsu by mere contact, he can use it as a bridge to take control over the opponent's mind, he also showed skill to place his opponents under genjutsu if they fell under his shadow techniques. This type of genjutsu was the last one to be mastered by Hideyoshi as he believed that by mastering this technique that his genjutsu will be unescapable due to being applied through so many mediums.
After mastering so many ways to apply his genjutsu, Hideyoshi made sure that his genjutsu wasn't easily escaped by the target. He showed great skill in hiding his genjutsu in order to prevent the opponent from trying to break it. Of course, he has near perfect chakra control to back it up. His genjutsu is very hard to escape through normal means, even his generic genjutsu, which is said to be weaker than specific genjustu. It needs a genjutsu master or someone with higher level of chakra control than himself to escape the genjutsu. With all these skills, Hideyoshi is regarded as a master of genjutsu.
- Bringer of Darkness Technique (Kokuangyo no Jutsu, 黒暗行の術): This technique exerts an hallucinatory effect upon the eyesight, effectively blinding the opponent. No matter how skilled an opponent may be, they are forced to wait helpless in this world of darkness, as this technique allows the user to attack unseen. Although it negates sight, it does not stop the other senses. In essence, the opponent can hear, feel, and smell out the user of the technique and break its effects by landing one hit. This technique was mastered by Hideyoshi in order to counter those who possess Dōjutsu and to limit the ability of sight to other opponents. This technique was developed by Hashirama in order to use it against opponents with Dōjutsu, Hideyoshi's application of the technique is similar to Hashirama although his cousin had another way of applying this technique, Hideyoshi didn't develop his own way of applying this technique as of yet. This technique aided Hideyoshi in lots of battles including the one where he fought Meimei Uchiha and was one of the main reasons that lead to his victory in that battle.
- False Surroundings Technique (Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu, 此処非の術): A genjutsu that allows one to trick others into mistaking the place they're in for another. This technique's main feature is that it can be cast over an extensive surface, therefore any and all who step into the illusion's area of effect will fall under the spell. That said, it might not work so well on people who are well-versed or otherwise skilled in genjutsu. Hideyoshi can use this technique on a large area turning a peaceful garden into a rocky area and tricking his opponent into thinking that his surroundings is different from what they really are.
- Double False Surroundings (Nijū Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu, 二此処非の術): This technique places another illusion within another illusion created by the user. If and when the target dispels the first illusion, they will not realize that a second is in place. Hideyoshi can place four layers of the technique in order to trick the opponent inot thinking that they dispelled the genjutsu while they did not.
- False Being Technique (Oruazaru no Jutsu, 居る非ずの術): A Genjutsu that gives deception to an individual's actual position in their surroundings. This is done so through interrupting the flow of chakra within the individual's brain as to the actual position of the user. In this regard, the user can be miles away from the illusion, and the illusion can still be active. Applications of this technique are enormous, and can cause great psychological strain on an enemy if used correctly. When made contact with, the doppelganger becomes a wispy substance, but quickly reforms into the full being. Hideyoshi uses this to confuse his opponent and to tire them out however, it can serve as an escape method when he is faced by an opponent stronger than him to the point where fighting would be pointless.
- Genjutsu Binding (Genjutsu Shibari, 幻術縛り): As the name suggests, the user binds the opponent in a genjutsu, rendering them incapable of movement. This genjutsu can be used on more than one target at the same time. Once the target is bound, the user or an ally can rush up to the enemy, able to easily deliver a devastating killing blow. Hideyoshi used this technique to bind his opponent until he can get him under his shadow techniques. He uses a very strong version of this technique as he trained on this technique to make it very hard to escape.

Hideyoshi possess the Nara clan's famous shadow manipulation techniques, he showed great skill in learning them since he was young. Hideyoshi could materialize his shadow since he was eleven years old. He displayed great skill in shadow manipulation and control. Hideyoshi's progress was amazing in the field of shadow manipulation, he could make multiple shapes with his shadow, his imagination is his limit to be precise. He can store objects in his shadow to be used later, it's like his infinate storage which can serve him in many situations. He can also harden his shadow to an amazing extent, as said before, his imagination is the limit when it comes to his shadow. He uses the property of Yin to imagine the substance and Yang to make it come true. He can harden his shadow to the point where it's as hard as diamond. He can also move his shadow at a really high speed, it's speed is so high that it seems like the shadow is moving in an instant while actually it's very fast movements. He showed that his shadows are the main aspect which all of his skill set is born from, he displayed great ability to bind his opponent to the point where it seemed like escape was impossible from the immense grip of the hold. Unlike most members of the Nara clan, he possess unlimited reach with his shadow, not due to his mastery of shadow manipulation technique, but the fact that he is able to borrow shadows from the Darkforce Realm. He can manipulate his shadow with great speed that there was a rumor about him, that he is able to manipulate the shadows with the speed that shadows are formed, which is basically light speed, but that is an exaggeration.
- Shadow Imitation Technique (Kagemane no Jutsu, 影真似の術): The Shadow Imitation Technique allows the user to extend their shadow on any surface (even water) and as far as they want as long as there is a sufficient area. Once it comes into contact with a target's shadow, the two merge and the target is forced to imitate the user's movements. Therefore, the two can throw shuriken at each other at the same time if the user desires that (of course, to prevent hurting themselves, the user just has to have the shuriken holster in a place where you don't normally have it, like the back, so that the opponent draws nothing when the user draws a shuriken). If the target is out of range, the user can produce a better light source to increase their shadow's size or rely on pre-existing shadows for their shadow to freely travel through. It's also possible to split one's shadow, either to trap more opponents at once, or to create a distraction. The shadow can also be attached to people without binding them, letting the "victim" move freely. Doing that has the purpose that the person, the shadow was attached to, makes contact with a third person, to bind the latter one with the shadow.The major downside of the Shadow Imitation is that it is tiring to use repeatedly; Hidan notes that the ability is subject to some form of diminishing return and decreases in potency after repeated use. It was hown that Shikamaru could maintain the technique for five minutes per use. If the user is low on chakra, the performance rate of the technique also deteriorates. Insufficient lighting will make the technique less effective. A particularly strong opponent can also resist the shadow's forced imitation. Hideyoshi showed great skill in using this technique as there are many aspects which are stronger in Hideyoshi's use on the technique. He can fire his shadow with great speed that it is almost a certainty that he would catch his opponent under his technique if they were close to each other. He has perfect chakra control which allows him to bind his opponent greatly with this technique, and he can maintain this technique for more than forty five minutes. He can also catch multiple targets at once, not to mention that he can preform this technique without the use of hand seals and with sole shadow manipulation. He can also replace himself with a shadowkhan so that he would get out of the technique while the shdowkhan maintains it.
- Shadow Clutch Technique (Kage Tsukami no Jutsu, 影掴みの術): Hideyoshi materializes and extends their shadow along a surface, before merging it with that of the intended target, allowing them to grab hold of and manipulate the object in question as they desire almost as if it were an extension of themselves. Unlike with the Shadow Imitation Technique, though the two shadows are connected, the target is not forced to copy the user's movements, allowing them to retain their own range of motion. He was able to use this technique since he was eleven years old, he showed great skill in lifting extremely heavy objects.
- Shadow Gathering Technique (Kageyose no Jutsu, 影寄せの術): This is a ninjutsu using materialized shadows, but compared to the Shadow Sewing Technique from the same line, this technique places emphasis on the minute control of the shadow's movements. It is accurate enough to even make the tentacles go through tiny holes. Basically, this technique takes the user's own shadow and transforms and stretches it into countless thin tentacles, which are then used to grab objects and pull them in. Also, one can also skillfully make use of the tentacle-shaped shadow tendrils by using them to lift up and throw weapons like kunai and such. This technique has many possible applications and uses. There are no hand seals used for this technique, but the hand movements resemble that of Gaara's Sand Binding Coffin. Hideyoshi was able to pick up objects that could help him in the battlefield if his hands were busy, he mastered this technique to the point where he doesn't need to even move to use it. He also use it to pick up objects that are stored inside his shadow and do whatever he wanted with them.
- Shadow Imitation Shuriken Technique (Kagemane Shuriken no Jutsu, 影真似手裏剣の術): Shikamaru invented this technique while teaching himself to use Asuma Sarutobi's trench knives. By infusing the blades with his own chakra beforehand, they are given the effect of his shadow techniques. By using these weapons to pierce the enemies' shadows, they are paralysed in place. To pierce the shadow, it is necessary to avoid the target just barely — Shikamaru added fake explosive tags when he used them against Kakuzu and Hidan to help with that. Since it is more difficult for the enemy to notice it, this ninjutsu compensates for the weak point of the similar Shadow Imitation Technique, being its limited effective range. It is unknown for how long this jutsu can keep its targets paralyzed, however it can be disrupted simply by the removal of the blade or by the disappearance of the opponent's shadow. Hideyoshi uses this technique with his shadow weapons like his kunai, he can make a shadow kunai and flow his chakra through it and fire it at a shadow which will cause the same effect as the original technique.
- Shadow Sewing Technique (Kage Nui no Jutsu, 影縫いの術): A ninjutsu from among the Nara clan's secret techniques that uses materialized shadows to attack and bind, instead of merely immobilizing and controlling like the Shadow Imitation Technique. The user changes the shape of their shadow into several sharp needles and controls each separately. They can then attack several targets simultaneously and at the same time snatch away their ability to move by sewing them stuck with the shadow threads. Because it is a physical attack, it is impossible to capture someone without harming them, but on the other hand, since the speed of invocation and the time of duration are excellent, it can be used when urgent restraint is required.This technique is usually used to go through the target and capture them, but depending on the opponent, it can also be used as an attack to bring them down. This special characteristic finds its greatest effect when used as logistical support. After this technique hits someone, it can then be directly transformed back into the Shadow Imitation Technique. Hideyoshi can perform this technique without hand seals as well as adjust the thickness and the number of needles, he showed great speed in the manipulation of these needles, that some compared it to the speed of light.
- Shadow–Neck Binding Technique (Kage–Kubishibari no Jutsu, 影首縛りの術): A technique developed from the Nara clan's hiden Shadow Imitation Technique with combat in mind. It is possible to inflict direct damage to the enemy by transforming and moving shadows endowed with physical power.It is possible to attack body parts like fingers and such by turning the shadow slender and to bind the opponent's body in order to restrain them. It was given its name because, above all else, strangulation is the most efficient method. The smaller the distance to the target, the greater the power of the shadow. This technique cannot be used for an extended period of time, as it weakens with each passing minute. Hideyoshi showed the ability to maintain it for very long periods of time, he also can use multiple hands in order to strangle his opponent or restrain him.
Fūinjutsu[]
Hideyoshi is proficient in his use of Fūinjutsu. He spent countless hours lucubrating the art of sealing. He believed that it adequately with his shadow manipulation and would grant him the qualification to outplay his adversaries. He looked for for seals with the ability to delimitate his foes, by restricting their physical movement. In order to abatement the likeliness of escaping his shadow restraining techniques. He needed a way to infuse his knowledge in shadow-based techniques with his skill in Fūinjutsu, which would increase the efficiency of his attacks in combat. The young man managed to discover a way to incorporate the two skills together. The aforesaid way was simply using his shadow as a medium to transfer his fūinjutsu. Meaning, that anyone under his shadow techniques are susceptible to his fūinjutsu. In short, anyone under his shadow techniques can be sealed in an instant by transcribing the seal into his shadow which will then reach the target in no time.
The transfer of the seal can be made after the opponent is under the shadow technique or when the shadow is on its way to the target, if the seal was transcribed in his shadow midway before reaching the target, it will activate almost instantly if the target is caught under the shadow technique. On the other hand, if Hideyoshi throws a shadow weapon at his opponent or any shadow technique that loses contact with his shadow, he will have to transcribe the seal before the department of the shadow technique. The seal will be activated the moment his opponent touches the shadow thrown at them. Hideyoshi showed the ability to compress seals into even very small shadow senbons.
- Chakra Draining Seal (Chakura Kyūin no Fūin, チャクラ吸引の封印): This is a seal operated by Hideyoshi, his way of applying the seal is contact. He can conceive the seal by touching his opponent. The chakra absorbed from the seal goes to Hideyoshi. However, he can transfer the chakra into his shadow and store it there. This makes him unaffected by absorbing senjutsu as the senjutsu chakra would be accumulated inside his shadow and can be disposed of afterwards without affecting Hideyoshi by any means. He is able to utilize this seal in a different manner, which is by transcribing it in his shadow which will give them the ability to consume any chakra of any object they come in contact with, including humans. Hideyoshi can decide if he wants to store the chakra in his shadow or if he wishes to ingest it. He is able to use this seal to absorb the chakra of anyone under his shadow techniques. Learning it at the age of sixteen, Hideyoshi had lots of time on his hand to learn and master the seal. He became very adept in the use of the mentioned seal that he is able to absorb the chakra out of his opponents at an alarming rate. He can absorb the chakra of a tailed beast in three minutes, which means that regular shinobi would take mere seconds before their chakra is devoured. This seal gave Hideyoshi the advantage over many opponents and lead to his triumph in battle countless times. While being very efficient, this is the only chakra absorbing technique that Hideyoshi uses, which gave him time to concentrate on perfecting this seal and mastering it.
- Constricting Seal (Shimekukuru Fūin, 締め括る封印): This technique is one of the practical applications of sealing techniques that Tenmei created. With this technique the user has the ability to prevent their target from moving their entire skeletal system. This technique requires an extreme amount of chakra to maintain and an even greater amount to break. This is one of Hideyoshi's A-Ranked seals. This seal is excessively powerful and works as a restrainer, a way to keep his opponents bound to their position. He applies this seal after trapping his opponent in his shadow techniques most of the time. By knowing how efficient this technique is, he started practicing this seal in order to get the very maximum out of it as it's adaptable with his shadow related techniques due to having the restraining effect which will make sure that his foes don't escape his shadow techniques. He mastered this technique to a degree where he is capable of performing this seal with only the dog and bird hand seals. He was able to upsurge the bounding ability of the seal to a frightening level where even Jinchūriki in their tailed beast mode would struggle greatly to break the seal. He doesn't require as much chakra as he did to perform the seal as when he started learning this technique, he does exhaust some chakra, but the results are worth the chakra put in the seal by virtue of the requirement of the opponent to deplete much more chakra than that used to create the seal.
- Explosive Seal (Kibaku Fūin, 起爆封印): It is a commonly used C-Rank seal, this seal is placed by mere contact, the seal appears on the object for a second then it disappears almost instantly. The seal is there, but it's actually invisible. The user can trigger the seal by making the tiger hand seal or the one-handed tiger hand seal for the experts of this technique. While effective, this technique requires very little knowledge in seals and isn't chakra taxing at all. The strength of the explosion is determined by the amount of chakra concentrated inside the seal, the explosion could reach incredible power, but that is determined by the amount of chakra put in the seal. The user can place this seal on any object or human that he touches as it's a good replacement for explosive tags. Hideyoshi uses this technique, but on a far more destructive level. Having excellent chakra control, he can concentrate his chakra creating tremendous chakra pressure in the seal which results in a great explosion that can extend to around five hundred meters. However, that's the absolute maximum size of the explosion.
- Five Element Seal (Gogyō Fūin, 五行封印): This seal is probably one of the strongest seals in Hideyoshi's arsenal. With this, he is able to seal away the five elements that are possessed by his opponent, which proved to be very efficient in his battles. Along with sealing the elements, this seal prevents the target from molding chakra correctly which denies the target from performing the jutsus at full power, if they are even able to perform them. It takes mcuh more chakra than the original technique needs. This makes this seal one of the most precarious seals amongst Hideyoshi's seals.
- Soul–Body Separation Technique (Konshin Betsuri no Jutsu, 魂身別離の術): With the aid of a tag, the user creates a seal which affects a certain area around it removing the soul of the opponents from their bodies. The souls are then sealed within the tag. If someone comes in contact with the tag or removes it from its place, the souls will be released. The souls appear as ghosts near the one who touched the tag, and are only visible and audible to that person. The souls have no initial memory of their past life however. Hideyoshi has his own way of utilizing this seal. He can apply it on anyone under his shadow manipulation technique, using his shadow as a replacement for the tag. The soul of the opponent is then sealed within his shadow with no memory of their past life.
- Summoning Technique (Kuchiyose no Jutsu, 口寄せの術): The Summoning Technique is a space–time ninjutsu that allows the summoner to transport animals or other things across long distances instantly. One method involves just hand seals and blood. With this, before an animal summoning can be performed, a prospective summoner must first sign a contract with a given species. The contract can come in the form of a scroll or a tattoo, which is signed in the contractor's own blood and once signed is valid even after the contractor's death. After this, they need only perform the hand seals, offer an additional donation of blood (biting the summoner's finger being the most common way to obtain blood), and use the same hand they signed the contract with to summon the creature. The amount of chakra used during the summoning determines how big the summoned creature can be. In the anime, it was shown that if a user attempts to summon an animal without first signing a contract, the user will be teleported to the home of the animal they have a natural affinity for. Hideyoshi uses this seal in a rather unique way, by using his shadow as a medium to transcribe the seal, he can make a reverse summoning seal any where on his shadow, which will give him the ability to teleport to the sealed place instantly. Hideyoshi is able to summon shadowkhan which are formed from his own shadow.

The Darkforce realm is a big part of Hideyoshi's skill set as he depends upon it to perform many tasks. The Darkforce realm's greatest advantage is that it gives Hideyoshi an infinite supply of shadows which gives him a great advantage in battle as it is unexpected from a Nara to be able to stretch his shadow with no limit. It also gives Hideyoshi control over thousands of Shadowkhan. Shadowkhan are the shadows which are present in the Darkforce realm. There are many shadowkhans each of them has it's own ability. Hideyoshi can summon the shadowkhans which appear from his shadow. Shadowkhan have the ability to share experience with the user once they return to his shadow, they can also become intangible for as long as they like and they can become physical and alter the shape of their body with shape transformation.

This tribe takes the figure of a human, made completely out of shadows and darkness, no face, no details, just the external shape of a human. He can do several tricks, one being the transparency effect, in this, he can make his body completely transparent to attacks and every attack will pass through him. He can also solidify his body or parts of his body, making him very hard to overcome. He can manipulate his body which is made out of shadows to any shape he wishes. However, he can only perform shadow related techniques and is unable to use nature transformation. He can keep the opponent occupied and can drop him under the Nara clan famous Shadow Imitation Technique. He can also preform all of the Nara techniques. It's size can be altered by the user. They are so fast and they seem to teleport in shadows and darkness. They can also execute shadow related techniques with speed. As they are Yin-Yang, they can reach high physical ability thanks to being carved out of the imagination of the user.

One of the main aspects of Hideyoshi's combat skills is his chakra. He depends on his chakra to do many tasks one of them being his shadow manipulation. Hideyoshi was gifted great chakra control and reserves which allowed him to improve his combat skill greatly. It also plays a great role in the efficiency of his genjutsu as genjutsu depends on chakra control.
Chakra Reserves & Control[]
Since being a child, Hideyoshi had shown that he has great chakra reserves. His chakra reserves were relatively high when he was young. This helped him greatly in learning ninjutsu and techniques without tiring quickly and to endure fighting for long periods of time. Because of having great chakra reserves, he is able to keep performing ninjutsu to extended periods of time. And, when it comes to chakra control Hideyoshi is one of the best. He mastered chakra control to a colossal degree, his chakra control helped him greatly in many of his fights as with his perfect chakra control, he exhausts very little chakra in performing techniques. He is able to execute ninjutsu and genjutsu repeatedly for hours and it seems like he never weakens. He can be compared to a Jinchūriki, not because of his great chakra reserves, but his chakra control that makes spend a fragment of chakra on each technique. The amount of chakra spent on techniques is so little that it's almost unmentionable, of course with the exception of very chakra taxing techniques like Constricting Seal and yet it doesn't take that much chakra from him. In short, Hideyoshi has perfect chakra control that it is doubtable that he can be surpassed by anyone.
- Ball of Light Technique (Kōdama no Jutsu, 光玉の術): The user gathers a ball of concentrated light which hovers above their palm to illuminate their surroundings, similar to a lantern. This technique was mastered by Hideyoshi as he wanted to control light as much as darkness. He believed that he should be able to manipulate shadows if he can manipulate light. Darkness and Light are similar to Yin and Yang, they can't exist individually as they both need to be present to create shadows. After learning that, he decided that he will master this technique which will help him greatly especially in the darkness when there is no light. This technique relays on the concentration of chakra that will create a light ball, which will then hover over the hands of the user. As a master of chakra control, he doesn't need his hand to keep the concentration of chakra meaning that he can manipulate this light ball freely as well as form it anywhere he wants in the surrounding atmosphere. By increasing the concentration on chakra, he is able to make this technique shine brighter to a great extent. This can be used in a way similar to a flash bomb, but very brighter. He can also control the size of the light ball and can manipulate multiple light balls at the same time. This technique takes little to no chakra as it is just chakra control. And, with Hideyoshi's perfect chakra control it seems like he isn't even using a technique when he is performing this one as it takes very very little chakra that it's unmentionable.
- Body Flicker Technique (Shunshin no Jutsu, 瞬身の術): This technique is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalize the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination. Hideyoshi managed to create a stronger version of this technique. With his accurate chakra control, he can vitalize his body with chakra to a degree where he can exceed the speed of the original technique. He was able to surpass the speed of the original technique with three or five times. With this much speed he leaves afterimages behind him when he moves. Hideyoshi doesn't temporarily vitalize his body with chakra, he can enliven his body with chakra for long periods of time. By using his flawless chakra control, he can increase the speed of every part of his body not just his feet which make his speed generally fast and that includes every part of his body. He had shown that he is able to continuously enliven his body with chakra that he can go hours with this vitalization of chakra. While activating this technique, even his fingers move with very high-speed. As for the puff of smoke, he is able to control it's size making it very large which can deceive his opponent. He also made another variation of the smoke cloud in which he uses his shadow to disguise his movement. And, by mixing it with the ball of light technique, he is able to surround himself with a flash of light which might blind his opponent for a couple of seconds. The flash of light intensity is determined by Hideyoshi and the amount of chakra he concentrates around himself.
- Chakra Exertion Technique: This technique is one that provides the user a capability to express their chakra in a physical medium. This is performed in a similar manner to elemental techniques, except they use the elements present around them, rather than their own chakra to conjure the said element. However, this technique is not utilized as a medium to manipulate the elements. Rather, it is used as a means to extend the reach of their chakra in order to fulfill a variety of purposes. By siphoning one's chakra to the environment around them, such as the air, the user gains the ability to extend the reach of their chakra to a wide distance, dependent on the quantity and control that the user has over their own chakra. This can be used as a medium to control specific techniques, or even be used as a potent means of intimidation, similar to that of Tobirama Senju when he was revived by Orochimaru a second time. Hideyoshi would have used this technique to extend the reach of his shadows if he didn't borrow them from the darkforce realm. He uses this technique in order to extend the reach of his Darkforce chakra.
