Technique Description[]
Utilizing Ice Release, the user is able to create a layer of ice under their feet, which they can easily slide on as if ice skating. It's relatively easy for users to maintain their balance, as they simply need to build chakra up in their feet to prevent themselves from falling. Traveling across the ice greatly increases the speed of the user and allows them to preform feats typically not available to non-ice-release users. For instance, the user can freeze water beneath them and thus, are able to quickly traverse any body of water much faster (and much easier) than an ordinary shinobi would be able to. Usually, however, this technique is used on solid ground.
This jutsu is particularly useful when traversing a snowy or frozen region/tundra. Users are simply able to slide on top of the snow (and ice) instead of sinking knee-deep in it. Even a very skilled shinobi cutting across a snowy countryside or mountain pass will travel much slower than a shinobi using this technique.
Because this is an ice release technique, basic fire release techniques have little affect on the ice.
