A technique that infuses chakra into ink or produce ink to form one or multiple clones of the user. As the clones are nearly perfect replicas of the user, it makes differentiating between the user difficult. Experienced shinobi, such as Orochimaru, was able to see through this guise when Sai's ink clone approached him. When struck, the clones will revert back to plain ink.
Ink clones have also shown the ability to communicate mentally with its user.[2]
