The Ishigan is a rare dōjutsu unique to Jayden Mukashi of the long-forgotten Mukashi Clan. Unlike other ocular dojutsu that focus on perception, space, or chakra control, the Ishigan perceives the record of existence embedded within chakra — a tapestry of inherited bloodlines, personal bonds, and life events. Through this vision, enabling the wielder to alter the past in a way that reshapes the present reality.
Abilities[]
Through the Ishigan, Jayden can perform Past-Presence Insertion, a technique that allows him to implant himself into another person’s history as a mentor, ally, rival, or even blood relative. This not only grants him complete knowledge of the target’s growth and abilities but also alters the target’s present-day relationships with him as if the inserted role had always existed. When applied to a clan, this ability rewrites Jayden’s own chakra and DNA, granting him authentic access to their kekkei genkai and hereditary traits, as though he had been born into their lineage.
Another major application of the Ishigan is Historical Rewrite, which enables Jayden to subtly modify events in a target’s past to influence their personality, erase trauma, or adjust their development. These alterations extend beyond illusions or genjutsu, permanently shaping the present reality and fundamentally changing the affected individual’s experiences.
Weaknesses[]
Despite its overwhelming potential, the Ishigan carries strict limitations. Jayden must establish close contact to activate it, and the larger the historical rewrite, the heavier the chakra and mental toll. Attempting to insert himself into multiple clans or conflicting bloodlines risks destabilizing his body and identity, leading to physical strain or personality confusion. Additionally, the Ishigan’s edits affect Jayden himself; inserting into tragic or traumatic histories can overwrite his own emotions and memories, compromising his stability and judgement.
