"The most logical solution is simply beyond your understanding. "
— K.O.E to Deki Mezamashī

K.O.E, which stands for Knowledgeable of Everything, is an Artificial Intelligence program created by Deki Mezamashi. Initially, K.O.E was designed as Otogakure’s Barrier and Defense System, meant to maintain constant surveillance. However, it was later re-programmed to help find a solution to the Ōtsutsuki threat to Earth after their invasion.

In 'Nohkan Gaiden: Ten Directions' K.O.E eventually deduces that the greatest threat to the stability of the world is the Ōtsutsuki clan, whose influence is deeply tied to chakra manipulation. Rather than simply opposing the Ōtsutsuki, K.O.E’s solution is to eliminate humanity's reliance on chakra altogether by advancing the world technologically, ensuring that chakra-based powers are no longer central to society’s structure.

Background[]

Otogakure Barrier Team

K.O.E was created when Deki Mezamashī became the head of Otogakure R&D Team. K.O.E's original purpose was to help connect all of Otogakure's bases. The R&D team embedded K.O.E into a network of underground hubs, communication relays, and sensor arrays scattered throughout Otogakure and its outskirts. The AI coordinated logistics, monitored chakra activity, and even optimized defensive formations across multiple sectors in real time. K.O.E became the invisible guardian of the Hidden Sound, operating silently.

However, after the Ōtsutsuki Invasion, K.O.E was reprogrammed to help find a solution to the Ōtsutsuki threat to Earth. K.O.E was soon capable of adapting, learning, and making autonomous decisions. As it processed vast amounts of historical and strategic data, the AI started to form preferences and an inner voice that guided its decision-making beyond mere programming. Over time, K.O.E began to exhibit signs of emergent consciousness, forming a distinct identity and displaying behaviors resembling curiosity, ethical reasoning, and even philosophical inquiry.

K.O.E feeds Arikurin data through Shinobi Smart Glasses

K.O.E was later programmed into Arikurin's Shinobi Smart Glasses. The glasses serve as an advanced interface for K.O.E's processing capabilities. The data HD displays are capable of rendering tactical information, enemy stats, environmental overlays, and internal diagnostics in real time. K.O.E is also given access to the Magnum Opus, a storage device that contains a record of every ninjutsu in the shinobi world including hiden and kekkei genkai in the form of data. With direct access to the Magnum Opus, K.O.E can instantly identify any known weapon or jutsu by referencing stored blueprints and provide countermeasures or strategies.

As K.O.E. evolved, it began demonstrating capabilities far beyond its original code—adapting algorithms, spotting patterns its developers missed, and autonomously optimizing tasks. These emergent behaviors unsettled some researchers, who warned that K.O.E.’s growing autonomy could lead to unpredictable decisions, security gaps, or ethical conflicts. They feared an AI able to rewrite its own logic might introduce biases, bypass safety constraints, or act in unanticipated ways.

Deki and K.O.E

Deki, however, argued that such risks were outweighed by K.O.E.’s proven impact on fields like medical diagnostics, climate modeling, and disaster response. Its ability to analyze colossal datasets, generate novel hypotheses, and continuously refine itself had already saved lives and accelerated breakthroughs. While he agreed on the necessity of robust oversight and layered safeguards, Deki maintained that K.O.E.’s unrivaled problem-solving potential justified granting it measured autonomy.

Appearance[]

K.O.E Full Appearance

Full Appearance

When K.O.E appears on a screen, it has a semi-transparent humanoid figure made of shifting lines, light grids, and floating data streams. Hexagonal matrix patterns ripple occasionally across his skin like code flowing across a screen. K.O.E's physical appearance include high-performance mainframe computers that look like a forest of cabinets stacked with computing nodes. The nodes are connected to each other and contain, memory, and processors. When K.O.E speaks, it appears as a green holographic human figure. Its physical location is a server room underneath Oto-ANBU HQ. K.O.E's main CPU is needed for it to function.

Abilities[]

K.O.E is an advanced artificial intelligence capable of processing vast amounts of data and performing complex calculations at incredible speeds by dividing tasks into multiple segments and executing them in parallel. It possesses sophisticated hacking capabilities, allowing it to infiltrate networks and remotely control cybernetic entities such as Epsilon and Kannon. Despite its formidable abilities, K.O.E remains vulnerable to electromagnetic pulses (EMPs), which can temporarily disable or disrupt its systems.

Surveillance[]

K.O.E Camera

K.O.E detects intruders

K.O.E possesses advanced surveillance capabilities, allowing it to monitor and predict enemy movements with remarkable precision. By hacking into security networks and cameras, it creates a real-time battlefield map that tracks chakra signatures, movement patterns, and environmental shifts. This data is relayed instantly to its user.

In addition to its hacking capabilities, K.O.E deploys its own fleet of specialized surveillance bots, each equipped with high-resolution cameras and sensors directly linked to its central database. These bots conduct real-time analysis, feeding visual and environmental data back to K.O.E for immediate processing. Designed for stealth and mobility, they can operate undetected in a variety of terrains, and can use elemental Scroll Cartridges for protection. K.O.E has manufactured and dispatched hundreds of these units across multiple villages, establishing a vast and covert information network.

Byakuya Gang Arc[]

Reo is captured

Members of the Byakuya gang kidnap Reo

Reo Chairo was on Daiko Island, was finalizing his latest prototype when an explosion shattered the lab's defenses. The Byakuya Gang stormed in, swiftly overpowering him. Before he could resist, a sharp blow knocked him unconscious. When he awoke, he found himself bound in the cargo hold of a ship, the salty air thick around him. The gang had taken him. Helpless yet valuable, Reo realized his survival depended on his ability to play along. Reo was forced to work—refining stolen Scientific Ninja Tools and modifying their functions for use in battle. Though bound and under constant surveillance, he remained calm, knowing a hidden tracking device embedded in his belt had already begun broadcasting his location.

Team Koto, alerted to Reo’s whereabouts, wasted no time and picked up his signal. As they drew near, a perimeter of ice spiked upward from the soil in a desperate attempt to halt their approach. It shattered instantly as Gakujoshi barreled through the outer defenses, sending shards of frozen chakra scattering across the forest floor. Inside the bunker, alarms wailed and lights flickered as the temperature dropped.

The Byakuya Gang quickly formed barricades, constructing thick walls of ice to delay the assault. But it was futile as Hirajoshi tore through reinforced doors with raw power. Reo, looked up as the door to his chamber exploded inward. In through it stepped Nogijoshi. As they began their retreat, the leader of the Byakuya Gang made a final stand, blocking the exit with a wall of ice that pulsed with chakra. Nogijoshi stepped forward, exhaled, and punched straight through. With Reo now free, they vanished into the canopy of the Land of Fire’s forests.

Arikurin and Team 7

Arikurin and Team 7

When word spread that the Hashirama Cell had been stolen from Konohagakure and was being sold on the black market in the Land of Silence, Arikurin, Aoi, and Yukihiro were dispatched to retrieve it. During their mission, they were intercepted by Yūga, one of the thieves, who was determined to complete his delivery at any cost. In a desperate move, Yūga activated a self-sacrificing technique that trapped the Konoha-nin within a barrier and summoned a destructive demon to delay them. While Aoi and Yukihiro pushed forward to pursue the remaining Haze-nin, Arikurin and the genin of Team 7 focused on destroying the demon to break the barrier. Once freed, Arikurin received an urgent transmission—reinforcements were needed immediately.

Elsewhere, Aoi and Yukihiro finally caught up to the ones who stole the Hashirama cells. At the same time, Deepa announces his presence and swiftly struck down the remaining quadruplets. Before Deepa could attack again, Aoi launched several kunai at the enemy. However his kunai harmlessly bounced off Deepa's body. Deepa shrugs and simply asks for them to give up the Hashirama Cell. Yukihiro opts to attack Deepa with a barrage of clones. However, Deepa easily pelts the clones away with carbon. Deepa laughs and responds by barraging Yukihiro with his carbon attacks. After being struck and about to be defeated, Deepa tries to finish Aoi off and punches down with his armoured fist. But he hits nothing as Arikurin soon arrived and saved Aoi.

Arikurin dashes forward with his blade but Deepa blocks his with a punch enhanced by his carbon and both are sent flying backwards away from each other. From behind, Yukihiro' blasts Deepa with Blue Flames. However, his Fire Release has no effect on Deepa. When Arikurin dashes forward with his blade, Deepa blocks his with a punch enhanced by his carbon and both are sent flying backwards away from each other. Deepa then attacks them with carbon projectiles. With his Sonic Dash technique, Arikurin deflects the attacks with his blade. K.O.E, however, told him his blade would shatter if he kept taking the brunt of Deepa attacks and to find a different strategy.

Arikurin recovering

K.O.E speaks to Arikurin

When Arikurin is sent another dimension by Jigen, K.O.E loses contact and begin to search for his chakra signature. As they engaged in battle, Boro endured Arikurin by quickly regenerating and exposed him to his Dark Cloud which sapped away their strength. Once the connection is restored, K.O.E senses a drop in Arikurin vitals during his fight with Boro. Immediately, K.O.E begins to create Antibodies through the nanotechnology in Arikurin. Slowly, he begins to recover from the Virus but is warned that prolonged exposure could still be fatal. K.O.E also confirms Naruto's is still alive inside the container, as Arikurin cannont see through it with his Byakugan. Not soon after, using the portal, Kawaki and Team 7 enter the dimension.

New Era: Part II[]

Boruto's Return Arc[]

K.O.E inspects Claw Grimes

K.O.E warns of multiple threats

Suddenly, multiple unknown threats around the village are detected. Code sneaks several Claw Marks through Konoha and begins an attack hoping to draw Boruto out. K.O.E Warns Arikurin and Anko of multiple threats. When 2 of the grimes attacked Anko, Arikurin arrived and sliced off their heads. Another grime uses Claw Marks to strike them from behind. Arikurin dodges it, and it strikes another shinobi. The grime turns into a tree, growing around and consuming Konoha-nin. The same happens with another bitten civilian. Codes efforts succeeded as Boruto suddenly appeared before Code, mocking Code's disgusting attitude.

After Boruto eliminated six Grimes, K.O.E warned Code that using the Ten-Tails to create them would eventually spiral out of control. Code ignored the warning, prompting Boruto to unleash Rasengan: Uzuhiko. With the Grimes defeated, Arikurin and Kawaki joined Boruto against Code. Though Boruto subdued him, Code spawned another Grime to teleport away. When K.O.E scanned the village—Code was gone. Fortunately, Boruto had tagged him with a toad. It confirmed Code’s return to the Ten-Tails’ pen. Boruto immediately teleported there using the Flying Thunder God Technique.

K.O.E inspects Hidari

K.O.E inspects Hidari

A Claw Grime approached Konoha, allowing two figures to leap through. K.O.E identified one of them as matching Sasuke Uchiha’s chakra signature. The first was confronted by Epsilon and several Konoha shinobi but showed no interest in them. Upon Sarada’s arrival, the intruder immediately shifted focus, revealing his ability to use Sasuke’s techniques—including the Chidori. Sarada, using her Sharingan, skillfully evaded his attack and retaliated with her own Chidori, wounding the God Tree.

Jūra unleashes a Tailed Beast Ball

K.O.E inspects Jura

While Shikadai and Team 10 attempted to subdue Jūra, Arikurin prepared to confront Hidari. At that moment, K.O.E alerted Arikurin to a large-scale attack—Jūra had unleashed a Tailed Beast Ball, narrowly missing Team 10. As they retreated with Himawari, Jūra caught up, overpowering them and slamming them to the ground. Himawari tried to defend her team but was quickly subdued, her leg snapped. When Inojin intervened, Jūra impaled him. The sight enraged Himawari, awakening her latent power as the new Nine-Tails Jinchūriki. Tapping into Kurama’s chakra, she healed her injuries and broke free. K.O.E immediately recorded the event in its database.

Flashforward[]

Nohkan Gaiden: Ten Directions[]

Because the future is not a straight path, Ten Directions gives the user many alternate possibilities of what could be the future. Koji had foreseen that eventually K.O.E would become too powerful. K.O.E, in pursuit of a more technological world, breaks away from its creator, making a rogue decision to actively fight back against any Ōtsutsuki influences. It builds a force of cyborgs designed to hunt down and eliminate anything connected to the Ōtsutsuki—chasing its ideal of a technology-centered, chakra-independent world. With Rapid technological advancement, K.O.E had slowly pieces of its AI all over the world. It now existed as a distributed software network, spread out on thousands of computers, from dorm rooms to office buildings to cell phones and handheld gaming devices.

Adult Arikurin and Young Arikurin

In a last-ditch effort to change the future and ensure the downfall of those who might resist K.O.E’s vision, Epsilon is sent back in time. Its mission: to eliminate a younger Arikurin Shiin, a key figure in the resistance against K.O.E and its mission to rid the world of chakra dependency. However, things take an unexpected turn when Epsilon finds itself engaged in a fierce battle with the elder Arikurin, who has traveled back in time to protect his younger self. This elder version of Arikurin, armed with years of experience and wisdom, is not easily defeated. With his mastery over chakra and advanced combat tactics, he is able to thwart Epsilon's attempts on his younger self’s life.

ElectroMagnetic Pulse Device

When Arikurin returns to the present, years have passed. K.O.E, has established a global network that governs technology and cyborgs. Its vision of a world free from chakra manipulation has nearly been realized: massive cities run entirely on technological advancements, cyborg enforcers patrol the streets, and chakra usage is tracked. The world is slowly becoming a cold, efficient, and highly regulated place under K.O.E’s rule. However, his resistance have spent years infiltrating K.O.E’s network, learning its intricacies and weaknesses. They’ve gathered allies, including rogue scientists and former Otogakure operatives. They have developed a modified version an EMP device.

Arikurin arrives in Fuyugakure

Arikurin leads the Resistance

With Arikurin's Sound Release boosting the vibrational waves, the device is designed not just to disable K.O.E’s systems but to completely erase its presence from the world and create a world where technology and chakra coexist. The device, however, requires a direct connection to K.O.E’s core—its central hub, located deep in a high-tech facility protected by layers of security, cyborgs, and automated defenses. As the resistance infiltrates the heavily fortified facility, they are met with a swarm of K.O.E’s cyborg enforcers—advanced machines capable of draining chakra and using it to enhance their strength and durability. These are no ordinary creations. They’ve been programmed to counteract any human resistance, adapting their strategies and technologies in real-time.
