Kenji Hyūga (日向健司, Hyūga Kenji) is a jōnin of Konohagakure's Hyūga Clan, he is a member of Team Fujito, and was acknowledged as one of the strongest in the Hyūga clan.
Background[]
Kenji Hyūga was the first born of Ren Hyūga, his childhood was considered violent as he witnessed many casualties in this world, his father decided to prepare him at an early age into becoming a shinobi. During training, he was approached by Kumokagure Ninja's and attempted to capture him but failed when Ren appeared and beat them up.
Kenji later became a big brother to Tama, shortly after his mother went into a coma, which led him devastated, but continued on training and accepting the fate of history of this world. At the age of 5, He went to a clan meeting with his father, so he could learn about the Hyūga clan. The head of the Hyūga clan, wanted to review Kenji's current skills, which he set up a Hyūga clan member, who was a Chūnin. Kenji managed to defeat the Chūnin, which the clan acknowledged the boy's strength.
At the age of 6, Kenji enrolled into the academy, three of his classmates were bullying him, but he didn't care as he didn't see them becoming Shinobi into the future, and angered them, and attempted to attack him, but easily defeated them and head to class. After the academy, he was approached by Kaiser Namikaze, offering to have a spar in Taijustu, which he agreed om, and then trained for 4 hours and ended up in a draw before going back to their homes. Both of them had been training after the academy and ended up being friends. Kenji was shocked one-time when Kaiser revealed that he was the son of Tsunade Senju and was part of the Senju Clan.
After graduating from the Academy, he joined Team 10, along with Asana Uchiha, Kaiser Namikaze and himself with Fujito as their Jōnin instructor. Kenji began training his skills to more advanced chūnin level and train his Byakugan. After completing 6 C-Ranks Missions, Fujito recommended them into the Chūnin Exams, which was hosted in Kumokagure. After the Chūnin Exams, Team Fujito acquired the rank of Chūnin, which everyone realized their strength.
Few days after returning back from Kumo, he witnessed Hinata Hyūga, training in a secluded forest, when he saw her strength, he felt amazed and approached her, which startled her but quickly apologized to her. Kenji and Hinata were having a conversation, with Hinata telling her about her family, and her father sees her a "failure" which he felt sympathy for her, and decided to take her out to eat, and eventually forming a brother-sister bond as he was always taking care of her, unless he was away on missions.
Sometime later, Fujito recommended them into taking the Jōnin Exams, which was approved by the Third Hokage. However, the exams were thwarted as Kirigakure started attacking Konoha, which let Konoha and Kiri have a battle against one village and another. Soon enough, the Jonin Exams was postponed until a month. After those a month, Jonin exams were announced, and later Team Fujito was promoted to Jonin.
Personality[]
Kenji is a kind and stoic since he was a child. But after seeing many casualties that had been happening, he had grown more stoic and more mature but still acts kindly around others. By the time he gotten older, he had been showed quite reserved and casually ignores others, Kaiser labelled him as 'Stoic Shinobi Friend' referring to his overall personality.
During battles, Kenji is known to be quite fearless and unwavering as he stated that "wavering is a sign of weakness" and his shown to be focused and never lets his guard down. This was exampled during the quarterfinals of the Chūnin Exams when he up against of the Kumo nin, he wasn't fazed of their techniques and focused on during the match, which made him win the quarterfinals and everyone recognized him.
After meeting with Hinata Hyūga, he grew a strong bond with her, and even protect her from her bullies, which lead to him having a discussion with the Hiashi Hyūga -- who was her father -- Kenji then asked the clan-leader to help train her for the Chūnin Exams, and whenever she gets older, which he approved of as Hiashi recognized Kenji as the 'Hyūga Clan's Greatest Powerhouse'. With that, Kenji helps her gain motivated into becoming a kunoichi of Konoha and the Hyūga Clan. Even letting her learn his own techniques
Appearance[]
Kenji is fair skin with long black hair with bangs that reaches down to his jaw. Whenever his Byakugan isn't activated, his eyes are featureless white.
Kenji's outfit is a dark, purple-colored shirt with the Hyūga clan symbol on the back, with black shorts, blue shinobi sandals, and wrapped bandages around his right-arm, and black forehead protector. After advancing to Chūnin, he added a Flak jacket.
After becoming Jōnin, his outfit changed consist of a black kimono-shirt with long-sleeves, with a white-robe tied in a purple-knot around his waist while wearing navy-blue pants and wearing black-shinobi sandals. During missions, he wears a white shirt with Hyūga clan symbol on the back, navy-blue pants, and black shinobi sandals with a flak jacket, and black arm guards that cover his forearms. He was also wearing this during the Fourth Great Shinobi War.
Abilities[]
From a young age and after seeing the reality of this world, Kenji was recognized natural prodigy of the Hyūga clan, outside of the main and branch family house. Being able to perform advanced techniques of the clan from observation, which impressed the Head of the Hyūga clan as being able to defeat a Chūnin at a young age. Which Hiashi could see surpassing all other Hyūga to ever exist.
During the Chūnin Exams, after people witnessed Kenji's battle, they realized his strength is more advanced than the others, however it had resulted that only one person that can outperform him, which was Kaiser Namikaze.
Byakugan[]
As a member of the Hyūga clan, Kenji possesses the Byakugan; a dōjutsu kekkei genkai which grants him an almost 360° penetrative field of vision. Apparently to other members of Hyūga clan, Kenji's Byakugan was noted to be quite powerful. With his training, Kenji can see more than 1600 meters with his Byakugan, and can locate incoming attacks or weak point.
Taijutsu[]
With most members of the Hyūga clan, Kenji specialized in taijutsu since childhood since he had been training with his father and sister. Being able to defeat his opponents easily. As he grown up, his prowess enhanced, which he can create shockwaves from his fist infused with chakra, allowing him to create taijutsu techniques. Being able to fight in short and long range, making to where his enemies weren't no match for his skills.
Improving on his skills in Taijutsu, Kenji's taijutsu is able to cancel many ninjutsu attacks and make them dissipate with a certain amount of shockwave that was produced from his chakra fist; with Water cancelled out and turning into mist, Lightning turning into sparks, Fire turning into ember, Earth breaking into rocks. Which the Hyūga clan famed him as "The Hyūga clan's Greatest Powerhouse' and Konoha famed him as 'Konoha's Nighttime Tiger'.
