Kenji was born into the Shinobu clan to two unknown parents. He has a long-standing friendship with Haruto Akimichi. They met even before joining the Academy, when others ridiculed Haruto for his weight, Kenji too abandoned the game and ended up hanging out with Haruto instead. Because of the kindness Kenji has always shown him, haruto is unwavering in his loyalty to him, and will gladly give his life for Kenji.
