Kirie (桐絵, Kirie), famed as the Strongest Genjutsu User (幻強の体術使い, Saikyō no Genjutsu Tsukai, Literally meaning: Strongest Illusionary Technique User), is a jōnin kunoichi from Otogakure and one of the few surviving members of the Uzumaki clan's main family from Uzushiogakure. During her pervious life in Uzushiogakure she was renowned as the Strongest Fūinjutsu User (最強の封印使い, Saikyō no Fūinjutsu Tsukai, Literally meaning: Strongest Sealing Technique User), for her knowledge and understanding in fūinjutsu was second to none.
Background[]
Past Life[]
In her previous life Kirie went by the name Karakuchi Uzumaki (うずまき辛口, Uzumaki Karakuchi), a famous jōnin kunoichi from Uzushiogakure and an elder of the Uzumaki clan. During the fall of Uzushiogakure, Kirie was unable to determine who it was that was attacking the village, she new the enemy but she not know the name of the enemy, this frustrated her to know end. She managed to kill one of the two attackers, with the help of several of her clansmen, however she was the only survivor and was critically injured; which triggered her survival technique Die Eight Times and Rise Nine Times Seal, which reincarnated her as a baby as she was making her wait through Ryūchi Cave to see her master the White Snake Sage.
Ryūchi Cave[]
Kirie, at the age of 3 was discovered inside Ryūchi Cave by the White Snake Sage, which was a complete shock snake elder. Sensing considerble amounts of Uzumaki chakra sealed within her tiny body, the White Snake Sage injected natural energy into Kirie's body and to her astonishment Kirie withstood its power. Over the next several weeks to months the White Snake Sage passed on some of her jutsu knowledge to Kirie, including senjutsu. She also better concealed the chakra within her body, by altering and adding to the Uzumaki sealing jutsu. Over time the snakes in Ryūchi Cave began address her as Princess of Ryūchi Cave (龍地洞の姫, Ryūchidō no Hime, Literally meaning: Dragon Ground Cave Princess) Sometime later, the White Snake Sage summoned Orochimaru and gave baby Kirie to him, informing him not to harm her and to further her develope her training.
Oto Academy[]
Despite her young age, Kirie's natural talent allowed her to quickly entered the Oto Academy. In the Academy, Kirie was placed in special accelerated classes, making her very popular amongst her peers, however they feared her power because she kept them at a distance. With her talents being more than genin-level unanimously recognized by her teachers she was able to take the graduation exam early which she passed later that month graduating at age 5, at the top of her class in only a few months. Three months after graduating from the Academy she had a 100% success rate in completing her missions on her own, so Orochimaru promoted her to chūnin.
Personality[]
Kirie is a complex and multilayered individual molded by a series of harsh circumstances during her early life. However, she is without question a sinister individual, with sadistic and cruel personality traits. She holds no remorse in manipulating others with mind control to her own means and even seems to enjoy doing so. She rarely ever shows any negative emotions, looking for any advantage and light of the situation in a pragmatic manner. Rather like Orochimaru, she remains composed even while being dismissive of her previous experiments, especially of those whom are not deemed useful any longer. She has a wicked sense of humor showing a tendency to enjoy messing with her allies, however.
Kirie likes to toy with her opponent, torturing them little by little until they can hardly stand. Kabuto Yakushi pointed out, Kirie herself is "full of lies" and in actuality cares little for anyone but seemingly herself. Being a scientist, she also tends to views things like a researcher to the point of using actual individuals such as her allies, for experiments. To this end, she would gladly cut down any former comrades, even if they are under the enemy's control. She sees everyone and everything not as a living being, but as an object to be researched—including herself. Despite her disregard for most life, Kirie is very obsessive about perfecting and creating it, and it is her dream to create the most prefect specimen.
Appearance[]
Kirie has short red hair with an ahoge, or a strand of hair that stands out, tanned skin and blue eyes. She has a noticeably curvy figure and large breasts, which she often shows off through the outfits she wears. She also always wears a choker in all settings and on some occasions a Bōsōzoku jacket to look more fashionable.
Abilities[]
At the age of 12, Kirie's skills where so great, Orochimaru stated that she was one of the strongest ninja he has ever seen. At 16 when she gained accessed to the the vast knowledge of her past life, her abilities where vastly increased, easily making her one of the most powerful ninja's in history with power rivaling the likes of Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju.
Chakra and Physical Prowess[]
As an Uzumaki, Kirie was blessed with a strong life-force, granting her tremendous chakra reserves and vitality. This also gave her tremendous stamina, healing powers, and longevity. One of Kirie's defining skill was her proficiency in chakra control. Even as a child, she could perform a jutsu with maximum efficiency without wasting much chakra. As a teen her chakra control was advanced enough to perform complex techniques with only one hand seal. Kirie's natural speed and prowess with the Body Flicker Technique were great: she could easily outstrip most other jōnin-Level ninja and perform a technique before an opponent could finish theirs.
Genjutsu[]
As a genjutsu master, Kirie primarily relies on her great skill and knowledge of genjutsu. Most genjutsu has little to no effect on her and she is able to break out of even some of the strongest ones with ease. She's frequently been shown to quickly identify when genjutsu is being used, and release herself or others from it. In battle she is able to quickly determine the true mechanics behind a genjutsu and how to disrupt it. She can use genjutsu to share information or psychologically disable opponents, letting her end most fights instantly. In addition, Kirie had such a high aptitude with long-range genjutsu that he could control multiple individuals from a considerable distance, without anyone around them noticing.
She can use genjitsu to create high-pitched sounds to knock numerous opponents unconscious, use large trees to bind opponents and tricking them into thinking she is attacking with her wood release nature transformation, she can control her opponents perspective of the world and control her opponents perception of herself in the world. Kirie can use genjutsu to receive or transmit information as well as to psychologically disable opponents, letting her end the fight instantly. Furthermore, she can use genjutsu to cause her opponents to go crazy and attack their own allies and enemies alike.
Banga[]
One of Kirie's most powerful genjutsu is Banga, which allows her to trap targets in a dreamlike world.
Ninjutsu[]
Kirie was trained in ninjutsu by Orochimaru.
Nature Transformation[]
Kirie was one of the few individuals who could perform all five basic nature transformations and mastered them with equal proficiency. She could also use Yin and Yang Release. Sharing the same DNA as Hashirama Senju, Kirie possesses the First's signature Wood Release kekkei genkai. This kekkei genkai allows him to combine earth-natured chakra in one hand, and water in the other to create vegetation such as trees and even grass which can be grown from any surface. Her unique fighting style allows her to rapidly create wooden objects such as various weapons in battle for both offense and defense. She can use her wood nature in conjuntion with her medical jusu to accelerate the body's natural healing abilities. She can also use wood nature to attack targets simultaneously on two fronts, physically with ninjutsu and mentally with genjutsu.
Tensōkō[]
One of Kirie's most powerful ninjutsu is Tensōkō, which allows her to control the weather.
Fūinjutsu[]
Kirie has immense knowledge and understanding in the art of fūinjutsu. She has mastered the basics of fūinjutsu demonstrating advanced proficiency in the use of the Enclosing and Unsealing Technique. She can seal a wide variety of objects and even living things within scrolls during combat and just as swiftly release them as needed. Furthermore, she can seal ninjutsu and genjutsu techniques into scrolls that activate when anyone tried to read the scroll upon opening it. To save chakra, she has numerous scrolls with pre-existing nature elements sealed within, like water from an ocean, wind from a storm and even natural lightning. In addition, she is very talented when it came to incorporating her mastery of fūinjutsu into her mastery nature transformations.
Bukijutsu[]
Even from a young age, Kirie demonstrated advanced proficiency in bukijutsu (武器術, Literally meaning: Weapon Techniques) performing lethal attacks with little effort. Kirie frequently coat her weapons with her chakra to alter the weapon's properties to fit any situation. Regardless of her weapon of choice, her fighting styles are noted to be elegant and precise, with equally powerful and complex movements. She is ambidextrous which allows her to attack and defend simultaneously with both hands. While is preferred fighting style seems to be bukijutsu, she is highly proficient in combining it with her other skills and instantly switching between any of them, seamlessly. One of her favored methods in battle are striking from various angles to test her opponents defenses, using confusion to catch them off-guard for lethal sneak attacks.
Senjutsu[]
Due to the her naturally large chakra reserves from an early age, Kirie is able to learn senjutsu from the White Snake Sage at the Ryūchi Cave, something which fascinated Orochimaru. In Sage Mode, Kirie's strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes are substantially enhanced. In addition, she gains noticeable physical alterations such as markings around her eyes, four horns on the back of her head, and brille to give her immunity to genjutsu and other visual attacks; the White Snake Sage describes her transformation as changing her from a snake to a dragon. She can also use it to empower her other ninjutsu, such as the Tensōkō, which allows her to use one of her most powerful attacks Sage Art: Five Swirling Dragons of Destruction.
Intelligence[]
Kirie's most prominent trait is her great intellect. A child genius, at the age of 5 she was well-versed in the history, strategy, and tactics of ninja world. At the age of 10 she was well versed in may areas of scientific studies, including biology and medicine. Kirie is a very crafty and cunning woman. She is a master at deceiving and manipulating others in different ways for a variety of purposes. She has a great talent for analyzing and observing everything in her presence, allowing her to understand a person's pattern of thinking and better manipulate them. She is always prepared. She takes many precautions before engaging in personal combat with an adversary, usually studying them through her various methods. She always has multiple contingency plans if something doesn't work out the way she expects.
Part I[]
Chūnin Exams[]
Kirie being curious about the capabilities of other shinobi around her age from other villages, teamed up with Kabuto Yakushi even though she did not like his company, along with Yoroi Akadō and Misumi Tsurugi so that she could enter the Chūnin Exams being held in Konoha. Before the exam's first stage begins, as Kabuto befriends the Rookie Nine, Kirie took the time to begin assesting their personalities and capabilities, concluding that Neji Hyūga, Rock Lee and asuke Uchiha had some skills, but where significantly weaker when compared with her capabilities. She found the rest of the Rookie Nine usless and not worth her time.
As the second stage of the exams near completion, Kirie while in hiding watched as Kabuto finds the members of Team 7 in the Forest of Death. She disapproved of Kabuto stopping Naruto Uzumaki from opening one of the scrolls they're supposed to be gathering; and was further very annoyed he further helped Team 7 by explaining that doing so results in unconsciousness and thus failure. She believed that during situations like the chūnin exams, its survival of the most skilled and cunning. Thus she deemed Team 7 failure because they could not complete the task at hand with their own knowledge and understanding.
Kire left Kabuto with Team 7 and ran into Team Shigure just as they encountered the team from the hidden sand. She was immediately fascinated with Gaara. She watched and analyzed every detail as he kills Shigure with his Sand Waterfall Funeral, being astonished by his sand techniques. She was further intrigued when Gaara killed Shigure's teammates despite them surrendering their scroll in exchange for their lives. Unbeknownst to the Three Sand Siblings, Kire followed them all the way to centre of the forest, monitoring and analyzing their conversations and every movement. Satisfied, later she intentionally dropped out.
In the preliminary rounds, now as a spectator, Kire watched with keen interest as Gaara fights Rock Lee. She noted that Gaara's impregnably sand defense was worth further analysis in a controlled environment, wanting to test its limits herself. When Rock Lee took off his leg weights, Kire expressed mild surprise and was impressed with his increase in attack speed, and Gaara's sand defenses now inability to keep him out. She was extremely disappointed in the ending of the fight, showing annoyance that Might Guy interfered in the fight saving Rock Lee, in eassesnce taking Gaara's victory away from him, and diminishing Rock Lee's efforts, destroying his efforts in fight for his own life.
That night, Kire watched as Gaara briefly transforms into Shukaku and kills Dosu Kinuta. She also noticed that Hayate Gekkō was listening in on Kabuto and Baki discussion on the upcoming Suna and Oto's invasion of Konoha. Of course their conversation was of no interest to her but she was curious to see if they noticed Hayate and what actions they would take. She followed Baki as he chased after Hayate and watched their duel, which lead to Hayate's death. During the following month, she observed the Three Sand Siblings, in particular Gaara very closely, continuing to analyze his personality and capabilities as best she could.
During the final matches of the Chūnin Exams', she was genuinely surprised by Naruto's victory over Neji, going so far as to reassess her analyzing capabilities. During Gaara's match with Sasuke, she was fascinated by the Uchiha's increase in his capabilities in such a short amount of time and suspected it had something to do with Kakashi Hatake. When Sasuke pierces through the Gaara's sand defense with his Chidori, injuring him, Kire was visibly astonished at the effectiveness of the technique. However, she was disappointed with Gaara's frightened reaction to seeing his own blood and his apparent inability to fight on in the moment.
Konoha Crush[]
As Kabuto initiated the invasion of Konoha by using the Temple of Nirvana Technique to put most of the people in the stadium to sleep, Kire left area to complete her main objective. As a scientist, her main goal for being in Konoha was to collect as much genetic samples possible and what easier way achieve this than to target the younger population of the village. With this in mind she hurried to the Konoha Academy, ignoring the majority of the battle around her.
She intercepted Iruka Umino and the other academy teachers as they were escorting their students to safety in the shelters behind the Hokage Rock, however she did not engage them, she waited until they where inside the shelters, and she used her genjusu Demonic Illusion: Bell Cricket Technique to knock everyone unconscious. While everyone was out she collected blood and other samples from all the students. She was very precise and meticulous, not leaving any trace of what she was doing to them.
After completing her main objective Kire begain to withdraw from the conflict, prioritzing leaving Konoha with her acquired prizes. On her way out of the villiage she sensed when Orochimaru was injured by the Third Hokage and the Hokage's eventual death. Realizing the situation had changed she gave the signal to all Oto-nin that was fighting in her area to withdrawal, and despite her orders countering their captain orders, they obeyed her, not out of respect but our of fear, even their captain did not dear to question her.
Search for Tsunade[]
Despites Kire and Kabuto's considerable medical knowledge they were unable to heal Orochimaru's injured hands, thus he was not able to wave hand signs. She did take the situation personally, not because it was her own clan's technique that caused the injury but because the technique, for the moment was beyond her understanding, thus she was annoyed by her lack of knowledge when it came to this particular fuinjutsu. She even suggested that Orochimaru find the legendary sannin and medical ninja Tsunade.
Sasuke Recovery Mission[]
Kire watched with the interest of a scientist analyzing a specimen as Sasuke arrive at their their current Oto lair. As per Orochimaru's orders she healed the injuries Sasuke sustained from his battle with Naruto. Over the next several days to weeks, she would take samples and run considerable test on the Uchiha, must of which where to satisfy her own curiosity. Kire liked rare specimen, and Sasuke being one of only two Uchiha's in existence was the rarest of specimen; furthermore, like Orochimaru she was fascinated by the Sharingan.
Interlude[]
The Mad Scientist, Her Creations and the Akatsuki[]
Around six months after the Sasuke recovery mission Kirie was in her private hideout watching a fight between the twins Hibike and Hibiku, her synthetic human creations, with Kokia another of her creations commenting to her that they were evenly matched in taijutsu. Kirie, watched as Kokia launched a suprised fire release at both of them, intrigued by this interesting turn of events, referred to Kokia's actions as not unexpected. She watched with a keen eye as the twins attempt to break through Kokai's long-range attacks, commenting that their precision and coordination was near perfect. Later, when the twins had finally subdued Kokia, they let their guard down for a moment, and in that moment Kirie knocked them both out as a punishment for letting their guard down. Later that night she informed her team that they were heading out early in the morning to the Land of Waves to complete a mission.
While in the Land of Waves, Kirie and her team crossed paths with itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki. Realizing who they were, she ordered her teams to stay out of her way and retreat, while she engaged them. She tried to subdue them with her wood release genjutsu-ninjutsu technique, however Itachi saw the danger and quickly used Amaterasu to destroy her technique, while Kisame used his Water Release: Water Shark Bullet Technique to attack her from behind. She dodges the attack and uses Demonic Illusion: Bell Cricket Technique to knock Kisame and dived towards him to kill him, Itachi quickly uses Amaterasu to push her back and then released Kisame from her genjutsu. Itachi then uses Tsukuyomi on her, which trapped her for a moment, but she uses her genjutsu counter Demonic Illusion: Usurper of King and Country to take control of Tsukuyomi and redirecting its target to Kisame, surprising Itachi who deactivates it.
Kirie, realizing they where both kage-level threats entered sage mode and uses Tensōkō to create a huge thunderstorm. Both Itachi and Kisame were astonished at the amount of chakra coming from her and the fact that she was controlling the weather. Kirie uses Sage Art: Five Swirling Dragons of Destruction to create massive dragons from the natural lightning in the thunderstorm to attack with and Itachi responded by using his Complete Body — Susanoo to protect himself and Kisame. The technique destroys the Susanoo almost killing them both, but the moment Susanoo's defense was breached Kisame gave them some protected with a water release. However, to her annoyance she could not control the new technique fully so she used up all of her senjutsu chakra and critically depleted her chakra reserve. This forced her to make a hasty retreat from the battle. Some time later she met up with her team and made it back to her hideout. She ordered her team not to inform anyone about what had happened today, not even Orochimaru.
In Naruto's Footsteps: The Friends' Paths[]
Over the last two years Kirie has been diligently monitoring Sasuke's training with Orochimaru. Now viewing him as a possible future threat, she was personally observing him in secret while he was on a mission to one of Orochimaru's hideouts. She observed as Sasuke helped Karin captured and returned Suigetsu Hōzuki back to his confinements. After Sasuke had left the hideout she revealed herself to Karin, which she noticed was uneasy about her presence, she ignored this and asked her for a report on the hideout's inhabitants. While waiting for the report, she asked Karin her thoughts on Sasuke, which caught Karin off guard. She received the report and returned back to her own private hideout.

- "Kirie" (桐絵) is Japanese for "paulownia painting" in reference to her love of painting and the arts in general. Its also in reference to "Kirie Goshima" (五島桐絵) from the horror manga series Uzumaki written and illustrated by Junji Ito.
