Kisō Yamanaka (山中きそう, Yamanaka Kisō) is a missing-nin from Konohagakure and a daughter of the Yamanaka Clan, regarded as the worst criminal in her clan’s written history. She fled the village after having coerced the clan head at the time to murder his wife in an attempted coup, hoping to supplant her role and establish herself as the mistress. Little is known about how she intended to realise this goal, but the act was allegedly part of a larger scheme to usurp the Hokage elect’s seat — an act she described as nothing more than pruning the rot from a tree branch before it spread. What became of her after fleeing the village is unknown; however, it is said she found a moderate following in a small, remote country. Through leveraging this alongside deceit and subtle manipulation, she somehow infiltrated the country’s central monastery and secured the title of head priest. From there, she seduced the daimyō and manipulated him into making her his wife, thus gaining control of the country from both political and religious fronts. Later in life, she re-established the monastery as the Shirane-kyō (白根教, Shirane-kyō, lit. meaning: White Root Religion), preaching a doctrine of human ascension through the chaining of death itself to grant humans immortal and undying bodies...
