Konohagakure (木ノ葉隠れの里, Konohagakure no Sato, English TV: "Village Hidden in the Leaves" or "Hidden Leaf Village", Literally meaning: Village Hidden by Tree Leaves) is the hidden village of the Land of Fire. In the Kaimetsu timeline, Konoha is led by the hero of two wars and current Sixth Hokage Kakashi Hatake, who resumed duty after the death of the Seventh Hokage in battle. Dedicated to the Shinobi Union and firmly rooted in a supernatural ability to churn out incredible shinobi, Konohagakure's pride makes it the target of many adversaries, which require its courageous defenders put body and soul on the line to defeat.
History[]
The history of Konoha from the canon timeline remains mostly unchanged until the divergence point, where the events of Naruto: Kaimetsu begin to build up from.
Divergence Point[]
Konohagakure was the site of a vicious assault from a pair of Otsutsuki during one of their annual Chunin Exams, as the aliens attempted to abduct Naruto Uzumaki, the then Seventh Hokage and host of the Nine Tailed Demon Fox, Kurama. In the ensuing chaos, the Seventh Hokage was captured by the duo after putting himself between his son and a furious attack. Konohagakure and the other Kage scrambled to mount a force capable of rescuing the Uzumaki, before his tailed beast could be drained out of him. Led by Sasuke Uchiha, the strike force managed to reach the Otsutsuki and engage in a fierce battle, killing the two Otsutsuki, but with Naruto being killed on the scene of battle and Sasuke managing to hold on just long enough to teleport the others back to Konoha. He too died later on, his wounds being far too grievous to heal.
At this point, Kakashi Hatake assumed full command of Konohagakure, as the Sixth Hokage - as Naruto had not left a successor, his death coming as such a shock to the peace sedated world that a will was not even considered. The village held a grand funeral for Naruto and Sasuke, as thousands flocked past the village's gates to pay their respects to the strongest shinobi their planet had known.
In this time, Kakashi swore to dedicate himself to keeping Naruto's dreams alive, by building bridges between other nations and strengthening his existing relationships with the Great Villages. A few weeks after the funeral, Konoha dispatched Densetsu Uchiha to stop a plot by the deranged Masa Nakamura to harness an otherworldly power source and bring ruin to the world, but Densetsu was unable to stop the S-rated criminal from decimating an entire village before bringing him down. From here, Densetsu was able to learn that an individual known as 'Ironshield' was plotting against the Shinobi Union; but a more direct consequence of his failure to save the village was the further loss of faith in the Shinobi Union, as hundreds had died due to incompetence in shackling Nakamura's rampage.
Kakashi Hatake decided to keep the Ironshield on their radar, but given the turbulent events and increase in organised criminal elements attempting to capitalise on the power vacuum; he was forced to stay his hand. Shikamaru Nara kept his position as right hand to the Hokage, while Kakashi spoke to Shino Aburame over taking over the village's intelligence agency. To increase cooperation across the board and facilitate the village's efficiency as a fighting force, Kakashi overhauled the Konoha Council, expanding its membership beyond just elders and including the leaders of the village's different divisions in discussions over the administration of Konoha.
For a few months, it seemed that Naruto's dreams would be realised, but the cracks and seeds of distrust began to spread yet again.

Military[]
While always the subject of great pride to the village, Konoha's military underwent significant overhauls and revamping during the great peace that the Seventh Hokage resided over. It switched to more of an intelligence gathering role, as its manpower was used mainly to deal with criminals in the surrounding areas or to function as protectors of those who sought the village's services. Nevertheless, Konoha did not lose much of its old bite, retaining a fearsome force that was dedicated to the protection of the Land of Fire as well as Konoha's own borders. After the Seventh's passing, the returning Sixth Hokage adopted a less pacifistic approach, choosing to sharpen the Hidden Leaf's ferocious fangs once more: as he recruited foreign mercenaries to help with the training of Academy Students, while also implementing numerous courses in various disciplines for the Chunin. The ANBU's traditional role of espionage was shifted onto various other subgroups, while the Seventh Hokage turned them into Konoha's personal guard: using their formidable strength to train the lower ranked ninja while also putting their most able leaders in charge of other intelligence agencies.
Special Units[]
- Konoha Vanguard: Comprised of only ten members, the Vanguard is an elite task force that specialises in deep cover operations and tracking or extracting high value targets. Formed one year after the Fourth Shinobi War, the Vanguard has enjoyed a stellar success rate for its missions, despite overwhelming odds. In the present, the Vanguard is led by Shin Hayata and Konohamaru Sarutobi and is under the direct command of the Jonin Commander, Densetsu Uchiha, who himself was a member of the vanguard for almost two full decades. After the Jashin Conflict two years earlier, the Vanguard is tasked with hunting down members of a group named 'Kaimetsu', who have been spreading anti Shinobi Union rhetoric and inflaming rebellious intent in the surrounding countries.
- Hokage Guard Platoon:
- Konoha Eleven: After their exploits in the events of the Fourth Shinobi War, the Konoha Eleven's collective prowess has made them famous in the shinobi world and important cogs in Konoha's military machine. Though their collective presence isn't officially recognised to be a registered force, their ability to work extremely well together leads to members of the Konoha Eleven being mixed and match for extremely difficult missions and clutch scenarios. While their strongest two members have been killed and a few of them have retired from front line service, a large number of them still spearhead Konoha's forces, putting their tactical knowledge and skill to great use as field commanders and division heads. The highest ranked living member of this group and their de-facto 'leader' is Shikamaru Nara, who also serves as chief advisor to the Hokage and the leader of the Nara Clan. Shino Aburame and Rock Lee also are members of the Konoha Council; the inner circle of the Sixth Hokage that helps with the administration and protection of the village. Sakura Haruno is the chief of medical affairs of the village and the director of the Konoha Hospital, being one of the Eleven who has since retreated from the war room and is tasked with administrative duties.

Emergency Protocols[]
- Tier 5: This tier would be a normal day by Konoha's standards, or a low threat setting. Shifts are organised in an orderly manner, all entries to the village are guarded but not barricaded. As always, the barrier pass surrounding the village is only able to be penetrated by the ANBU, who change the pass technique every month, or when a member disappears/defects. Visitors are allowed to enter and exit the village after registering at the checkposts, and Chunin carry out rounds on the outskirts of the village's territory.
- Tier 4:
- Tier 3:
- Tier 2:
- Tier 1:
- Salvage Contingency: The Salvage Contingency is Konoha's dreaded final option, when the military commanders of the village are able to come to a majority agreement that the village cannot be defended and that a full scale evacuation is in order. In secret, a new Hokage is elected, who will lead the civilians in place of the current Hokage. The current Hokage will stand their ground as a final diversion, drawing all enemies to their presence; serving as a precious bait. As such, civilians in the shelter are evacuated with the aid of the Genin forces and medical units in a vast system of underground tunnels leading to the very edge of the village's forest boundaries. Key shinobi join the refugees fleeing the village, to maintain a certain semblance of strength, while members of the ANBU Viper units, the Jonin Commander and their guard units, and pre-selected Jonin form a rearguard to stall the enemy and buy time, essentially employing all methods available to allow as many survivors to flee the village as possible. In a suicidal strategy, the Konoha forces will be ordered to carry out a torch and burn op on their own village, trapping advancing enemies in the outermost and middle regions of the city: employing explosives and traps to take their enemies down while baiting all attention to these regions.
