The Land of Fire (火の国, Hi no Kuni, Fansub: Fire Country) is one of the largest and most powerful countries seen and is the home of the main characters of the series. The Land of Fire was the first country to be ruled by a ninja village, Konohagakure, a governmental structure other countries adopted shortly after. The Land of Fire is appropriately oriented towards the element of fire, typically having very bright and warm weather. While not the largest physical country, it has the largest hidden village. The Land of Fire has been involved in wars with the Land of Lightning, the Land of Earth, and the Land of Wind. In the quiet years that followed, the Land of Fire slowly recovered and became accustomed to peace. This was seen as a weakness by other countries, which had been working to increase their military power, and is one of the factors that brought about the Konoha Crush by Otogakure and Sunagakure.

On the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Sound sits the Valley of the End, a large rift formed shortly after the founding of Konohagakure by the Shodai Hokage and Madara Uchiha.

Konoha resides deep within a forest at the base of a mountain known as the Hokage Mountain, which has the faces of all those who have taken the office of Hokage engraved on it.[1] It is surrounded on all sides by enormous walls.[2] While generally seen as the most powerful of the ninja villages,[3] Konoha has enjoyed many years of relative peace and stability.

He built the bridge to connect the Land of Waves to the Land of Fire, thus freeing his country from Gatō’s trade monopoly. After Team 7 helped him complete the bridge by fending off Gatō’s assassins, he named the bridge after Naruto Uzumaki for he had played a major part of the reason that the bridge was completed.

Trivia[]

  • The Land of Fire is often said to border the Land of Wind; however, maps show that the Land of Rivers is right in between them. It is currently unknown Whether the map is wrong, or the Land of Rivers is smaller than initially thought.
