It is a unique take on the ubiquitous Hydrification Technique of the Hōzuki Clan. Having been born a member of that clan as well as having the birthright of the Metal Release, Kiyasume sought to combine the two in order to create a more powerful technique. By doing so, she is able to turn her body into liquid metal at will, giving her a substantial boost in defensive capabilities. In other words, taijutsu and kenjutsu become ineffective modes of attack, as she can easily wrap herself around the user of that said move, and suffocate them. Her strength also increases, as she gains the durability and toughness of metal running through her veins and body. However, the one crippling weakness against her is fire. Because she is in a liquid metal state, fire, particularly a potent fire such as the scorch or blaze would cause her to boil and change her chemical state, weakening her bonds and pulling her apart, leaving nothing but a deformed metal behind.
