'''Misaki Ryuketsu''' (流血美咲, ''Ryuketsu Misaki'') is the last surviving member of the Ryuketsu Clan. Upon {{nw|Tsunade}}'s ascension to the throne of Hokage, she became the youngest {{nw|ANBU}} supreme commander in {{nw|Konohagakure|Konoha}} history at the age of 26, after 13 years of service in the task force. She is renowned all over the shinobi world for her formidable partnership with Minato Namikaze, receiving the title '''Konoha’s Double Flash''' (木の葉のダブルフラッシュ). After his death, she attains her own title, the '''Konoha's Flashing Flicker''' (木の葉の点滅ちらつき). She is the godmother of {{nw|Naruto Uzumaki}} as well as the adoptive mother of {{nw|Sasuke Uchiha}} alongside {{nw|Kakashi Hatake}}, which makes them the '''Pillars Of The Prophecy '''(予言の柱).

===Uniforms===
  +
When Misaki was physically grown enough and qualified, she replaced her personal wardrobe with the village’s shinobi uniform as her main form of outdoor clothing. She is normally seen wearing Konoha’s standard infantry clothing in public areas which consisted of a green flak jacket with a red swirl on its left sleeve, dark blue pants, a long-sleeve shirt, and black ninja sandals. Its signature piece, which is the military leafy coat, has two sizable rectangular compartments on each side of its chest front, a neck guard, tripled padding over the shoulders (which is fastened on by steel buttons), and a zipper down the middle to lock it in place. Misaki also straps a kunai leg bag on her right thigh and has two small-to-mid sized lumpy pouches secured to her belt behind her to carry extra scrolls, weapons, and medical items.
  +
  +
While more of the shinobi population see her in the jōnin attire, Misaki settled in the standard ANBU uniform almost permanently when she enlisted into the task force. Underneath the steel grey flak jacket and protective gauntlets, she gears up in anchor grey clothing to achieve some balance, dressed in a short-sleeved Oxford button-down shirt (with long arm protectors that cover her scar) and cargo pants with her regular footwear. She still keeps her pouches on her back waist and kunai leg bag, and wears a black coat when needed (though rarely due to her silent and fast movement, unless if she was in a cooler climate). The only differentiating aspect of hers is the symbolic dragon mask she dons that was formerly worn by Takeo Ryuketsu.
  +
  +
===Personal Style===
  +
When Misaki is not in uniforms, her own taste is rather dull, evident by her reliance on uniforms and disinterest in elaborate fads. Her wardrobe only had comfortable and simple items in dark neutral colors, though it was displayed more apparently when she was a lot younger. Loose t-shirts, shorts and sweatpants were constant reappearances when she was at home, choices that stuck with her until present day.
  +
  +
Stylistically, she favors collar shirts – typically wearing long button downs and knee length high-waisted leggings, made from breathable fabric that kept her cool in Konoha’s warm climate whilst light enough to not restrict her movements. However, she does adopt a different outfit when she is posted to colder nations, as the last thing she wanted was to be impeded by the chill. She suits up in an insulated, high collared, long sleeved navy dress with a large middle slit, positioned tightlyby a thick white obi. Her legs would be covered by full length creamy white pants and her ninja pouches remain hidden under by her dress. This would be the few moments where she would sport a coat, wear woolen pale socks and tight blackgloves that wrap her hands except for the top of her fingertips.
  +
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 13.jpg|thumb|left|160px|''<small>Younger Misaki wearing Obito's jacket gift.</small>'']]
  +
Currently, she is seldom seen adorned in such attires, unless it was required of or otherwise. Funnily enough, she resembled a spitting image of an Uchiha because of that, and was often mistaken as one (specifically as Obito’s sister). As for her Konoha headband, she ties it over her forehead like Minato did, unless if she were in her ANBU uniforms. But after The Nine Tails Attack, she had almost entirely forsaken it until The Fourth Shinobi World War.
  +
  +
===General===
  +
Misaki has the most stereotypical looks of a Japanese female as a child and a woman. While her body underwent its natural growth processes, the larger part of her features remained unchanged. She has an extremely good-looking father, but had not inherited much of his gold-worthy facial genetics and was instead somewhat thrown awkwardly between both her parents. Unfortunately, by Konoha's standards, Misaki looked boring, unless she was using her [[Blood Release: The Gift of Aphrodite]].
  +
  +
===Physical Description===
  +
  +
====Face====
  +
Misaki's face and eyebrows had always been on the thinner side, accompanied by her crisply sharpened nose and V-shaped jaw that outlined her youthful and clean skin, indicating some luck she had with her appearances. Though it doesn't mean that she has not experience skin troubles, for milia, peeling and dehydration happens to her when she undergoes intense stress or changes in weather conditions.
  +
  +
====Body====
  +
Being a shinobi is an extremely physically demanding and taxing line of work, requiring immense physical engagement ranging from completing missions, training, or defending the village. Despite so, Misaki suffer more exertion than her colleagues just by her workload alone. She had only managed to enjoy simple missions with Team Minato for a short period of time before she was assigned to more difficult and dangerous missions on a frequent basis. Her job only became more loaded whenshe rose to become the supreme commander of The Anbu Black Ops.
  +
  +
Misaki trained like a beast as the rest of her peers do, driven by her call of duty, her will to protect her loved ones and most of all, to uphold Minato’s good name. But everything changed when her and Kakashi became what was left of Team Minato. Her physical and academic training became horrific (enough to instill fear in Gai himself) as her previous motivations became blurred from the newly found obsession, desperation, insecurity, and anguish – spending every free moment she had training and studying until her body collapsed from exhaustion.
  +
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 12.jpg|thumb|left|180px|''<small>Misaki's body.</small>'']]
  +
Misaki had long pushed the limits of the ninja physique – and if it had not been for her bloodline gifts, medical background, strict adherence to nutrition and eventual intervention from the people of her circle, she would have done substantial damage to her body. But instead, she appear the peak of human health that flaunted the fruits of her physical toil, broadening her womanly build and enveloping her in a field of strength, with clear definitions of muscle that protected her arms, legs, abdominals and back. It looked stocky and heavy at times, but it was an irreplacable foundation that strengthened her taijutsu skills and enabled her legendary lightning reflexes. The only obvious physical similarity she inherited was her mother’s thick, long jet-black hair that flowed down to her mid-waist, a length she maintained since she was a genin. Unfortunately, she lost that thickness after experiencing major hair loss and thinning after Minato and Kushina's death.
  +
  +
With her scar-ridden muscular body, Misaki had long foregone the Japanese’s extreme black-and-white beauty standards that she had not and could not meet. But if she had to choose a preferred body part, it would be (what she sometimes thought) her long, slender hands and fingers, whose shape ratherish remain untouched by time and action (if she could ignore its callousness and scars that shroud it).
  +
  +
===Body Language===
  +
  +
====Body Movement and Posture====
  +
From an outsider’s perspective, when they see Misaki on the battlefield as '''Konoha’s Flashing Flicker''', behind Tsunade as the supreme commander of the ANBU Black Ops, or even just training, her body and demeanor is tremendously hard, firm and unyielding with a composure that seem unbreakable even at the face of despair. A true embodiment of stark and uncompromising severity, she is filled with an alertness that is scary even for individuals in her line of work. In fact, it becomes even more intense during crucial situations like on the eve of battle or when she receives directives from her superiors.
  +
  +
This physicality of hers plays for and against her. On one hand, it gives the necessary confidence to her clients and subordinates of her capabilities as a shinobi and leader. Furthermore, it helps her command respect when she has to relay orders, and more notably, as a reluctant politician facing the condescending elders of the village’s council when she has no choice. On the other hand, it made many think that there was no one less intimidating than her to approach, or anyone less unsympathetic. Only the accustomed eye would notice the small changes, such as the slight ease of her taut muscles at a joke around the Hokage’s office or the traces of tenderness she emits around small animals, and even fewer that will witness its openness of emotion.
  +
  +
====Her Face and Eyes====
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu Eyes.jpg|thumb|left|190px|''<small>Misaki's Eyes.</small>'']]
  +
Misaki’s most unique physical characteristic are her deep and dark crimson red eyes, an emblematic sign of great
  +
power and deep blood sensing ability in her clan. Besides her, only [[Akane Ryuketsu]] had been known to possess such eyes, and even then, they were visually impaired.
  +
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 3.jpg|thumb|right|180px|''<small>Misaki's 'poker face'.</small>'']]
  +
By and large, Misaki finds it very difficult to be facially expressive, leading to her infamous ‘poker face’ that make her look very unapproachable. Forming deep interpersonal relationships help immensely to mitigate the extremity of her face, where her emotions can bleed out so much it hurts, (even if it was only around selected individuals), but it remained a struggle that continued beyond her adolescence years and into adulthood. It digressed tenfolds when Minato and Kushina died during the Nine Tails Attack, where her face became the
  +
stone that people denigrated where she came from. At best, the trained eye could make out the maturity, grief, tiredness, and the occasional blankness etched into her skin (when relaxed). When that does happen, Tsunade would see [[Shizuhiro Ryuketsu|Shizuhiro]] flicker in her gaze.
  +
  +
===Body Marks===
  +
Misaki has the regular ANBU tattoo imprinted on the top of her left bicep, but the most noticeable body mark she has is her hypertrophic scar. It's wide, thick, long and resembles a star-shaped neuron that covers the entirety of the inner side of her right arm. The injury was caused by the amaterusu flames that Tobi inflicted on her during {{nw|Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's Attack|the Nine-Tails attack}}. She escaped that death within an inch of her life (thanks to her regenerative abilities and plentiful chakra) with only an incessant itch; but cosmetically speaking wise, it was a lost cause. Misaki didn't mind as her uniforms covers it up (but her bitter thoughts still exist as it was a constant reminder of her failures during the Nine-Tails Attack), but she takes precautions to hide it during missions to avoid identification. When she does have the luxury to care, the only ones she feels comfortable with it completely exposed are her close confidants.

==== Rin's Death ====
  +
  +
===== After Rin's Death =====
  +
Misaki was at her breaking point. It was torturous, having to simultaneously cope with her own sorrow and having coordinated mental attacks from the grief of her other family members slicing her like glass shards for a full length of two weeks. She nearly cried tears of relief once she felt Minato and Kushina’s sadness started to dim into a dull knife, but only to have Kakashi’s despair turn into a coarser red in her mental array.
  +
  +
Because Misaki was new and alone in attuning her blood-bonds in this form of manner, alas, she was presently aware of his every flashback and nightmare to a terrifying detail; forcing her to function on the most dreadful, non-existent amount of sleep she had yet so far. Misaki was adamant on respecting the privacy of Kakashi’s grief, but once realizing that his pain will progress into an irreversible burning scar - she made the decision to intervene despite the hesitancy to do so. Even the fear was easier to face, because for the people Misaki cared deeply for, the fear to do well for them was too unimportant to be considered important. Rather (knowing herself), she was a weak consoler and never did it warmly enough to be positive.
  +
  +
For the first time in her life, Misaki (strugglingly) made the entrance of her space-time teleportation gentle. She felt the difference in surface on the soles of her feet as she transitioned from her room into Kakashi’s side, as he was furiously scrubbing his left palm under the running water. Misaki laced her fingers around his wrist as softly with minimal strength. He yelped, and to Misaki’s dismay, had to apply firmer strength to her grasp so he did not draw chakra against her; but her mood quickly lifted once recognition came to him and he calmed down. Misaki specifically neglected to mention the tears in his eyes, but made effort to tell him it was nothing to be ashamed of through her hand on his arm.
  +
  +
Misaki was ecstatic to find her empathic touches effective on Kakashi based on the familiar, delightful tiredness that started to wash over his mind. She also personally felt victorious having soothed him through conversation as well. Although Kakashi tried to forcefully persuade her to return home for rest, her resolve to stay and watch over him was solidly unshakable. Misaki never admitted it, but her body finally gave out and she physically passed out (although sitting upright against the wall) on the wooden floor herself that night. It was the first of many-more; those nights playing a pivotal role in dealing with her own grief and developing her relationship with Kakashi.
  +
  +
====Enlistment====
  +
Misaki arrived home from a lengthy three-week solo mission when she picked up the news. As the last of the Ryuketsu, she was aware of her additional shinobi constitutional duties: a mandatory ANBU enrollment as well as to the Interrogation Task Force for a rough two year period. She had wondered before when it would come for her, because from her age, she had no further reason to not be drafted into active duty. But she also knew that her godparents aimed to abolish that piece of law since they rose to power, and that they would rally every legislative support they could find to do it.
  +
  +
There was a mixture of appalment and humility. By default, Misaki rather them forgo the effort completely, because such an endeavour wavered for her was not worth it. But knowing she was powerless to stop it, she could only be ready to face its potential consequences. But otherwise, she had no personal expectations from it, which saved her from being emotionally hurt from the outcome unlike her godparents.
  +
  +
Minato and Kushina were clearly crushed, having failed to muster enough political power to turn the tide around for Misaki. They despaired about it, because it was also something they wanted badly to honor Shizuhiro and Shizuku’s names.
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 1.jpg|thumb|left|180px|''<small>'I'm not afraid.'</small>'']]
  +
Misaki did her best to console, reassure and comfort her godparents. She embraced it with grace, simultaneously filling their hearts with more angst as she was always the one that salvaged the best from dreadful times.
  +
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 2.jpg|thumb|right|150px|''<small>'Kakashi...'</small>'']]
  +
Misaki did not fear it anymore than she did the job of a {{nw|Jōnin|jōnin}}, and felt more than ready to serve
  +
her godfather who was the {{nw|Hokage}} of the village in the {{nw|ANBU}} ranks proudly. In fact, she displayed a much more apparent anxiety on how she’ll give the news to the other last member of Team Minato, Kakashi in regards to her enlistment because it meant that she’ll be segregated away from him.<ref>[[Grief Lessons: First Play]]</ref>
  +
  +
Despite Minato and Kushina being in the same room to keep the situation orderly, breaking the news to Kakashi went about as terrible as Misaki could have imagined. He was livid that nothing more could be done to change the situation and was terrified of losing her to The Black Ops. He was incoherent with rage and left the room, refusing to listen to any of them. Misaki wanted to go after him, but stopped at Minato and Kushina’s suggestion, agreeing that Kakashi should have space and time to go through his own thoughts instead of disturbing him unnecessarily. But a few days later, she was confounded to hear from Kushina that Kakashi had instead volunteered service to The Anbu and was honorably accepted.
  +
  +
Misaki was horror-struck and immediately begged Minato with fervor to nullify Kakashi’s ANBU application. To Misaki’s dread as Kushina retold; it wasn’t that he did not attempt to do so, but was prevented by being bullied politically into the corner, because Kakashi was a prodigious shinobi and so The Anbu had nothing to lose but gain by allowing him entry into their organization. Minato was repulsed himself: despite being labelled the most powerful shinobi in the village, he could not protect his last other student from the same aversion. It was nauseatingly difficult for Misaki to accept it as reality, so she left after that conversation to find Kakashi in hopes of convincing him to withdraw from the decision itself.
  +
  +
She found him in one of Team Minato’s old training spots in the grasslands. It was uncharacteristic of Misaki to be on the emotive side of things, but her anger, bafflement, and terror for Kakashi was obvious; purely because of his current unstable emotional health that would make him more vulnerable towards the darkness of The Anbu Black Ops.
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 6.jpg|thumb|right|200px]]
  +
  +
On the other hand, Kakashi anticipated Misaki’s disagreement the moment he decided to enter the team, and argued back, thoroughly offended at her position despite being objectively true and painfully correct. His hot-headedness outlasted her, that simply refused the idea of her being alone in a predicament of such without him being able to have her back. Misaki was brimmed with fiery emotion as she engulfed him in a tight hug after his emotional rebuttal, but Kakashi could only relax in it, because it meant that he won the important argument in spite of her angry dissent.
  +
  +
===Part I===
  +
  +
====Uchiha Clan Massacre====
  +
Misaki was well and exhausted by the end of her two week S-ranked mission. Being tasked to protect more than one client of that importance drained her far worse than being a seeker or hunter. Moreover, having to solve additional leadership hassles subsequently after that always seemed to exacerbate her weariness to the core. Being able to put her godson, Naruto to bed, lightened her mood considerably but in all honesty; she missed Kakashi and wished he was with her, but he was outposted on a mission on his own and would not be back for another several days at least.
  +
  +
Misaki would have loved to go to bed, but her [https://narutofanon.fandom.com/wiki/Bleeding_Sensing_Technique Blood Release] suddenly [[Bleeding Sensing Technique|inflamed]] to a terrible proportion that she had not felt before in her own village, and it startled her to have it directly come from the Uchiha compound. It was a sense of foreboding she could not ignore. She trusted the battle skill of any Uchiha shinobi with her own life (as Itachi and the late Shisui came to mind), but brought along her sword with her anyways. It only took her a few seconds to arrive at the Uchiha Compound by performing her {{nw|Flying Thunder God Technique}}. Because she interacted with the Uchihas so often on a professional and personal basis, it was convenient to have their lodgings specifically marked down in her books.
  +
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 8.jpg|thumb|left|160px|''<small>Misaki arriving at the compound.</small>'']]
  +
The site of the atrocity was heart-stopping and Misaki froze on the spot, shocked and speechless. Still she hurried along, almost delirious with glad that she sensed Itachi and Sasuke’s chakra alive among the dead. But instead, the scene between the two brothers made her blood run cold and freeze. It was not complicated to arrive at the ultimate understanding of the situation, so Misaki did not hesitate to sever Itachi’s right hand away that pointed a blade to Sasuke’s face.
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 7.jpg|thumb|right|170px|''<small>Misaki severing Itachi's arm off in a single clean slash.</small>'']]
  +
Misaki’s protective instincts instantly took over as she took the chance to carry Sasuke’s limp body away to create some distance between Itachi and them. In some way, she was already too late as Itachi already performed the {{nw|Tsukiyomi}} on him. Sasuke was clearly still distraught from the experience, but relief colored his cheeks once he perceived her presence beside him. Misaki was absolutely revolted to see the {{nw|Mangekyō Sharingan}} used like this. She urgently needed to talk to Itachi alone, so she [[Blood Release: Syncopal Inducement|knocked Sasuke to sleep]], quietly and gently with an apology at the end. Combat-wise, for the moment, she did not feel insecure of her position. With his current injury and low chakra levels, Itachi was unlikely to pose a serious threat to her.
  +
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 10.jpg|thumb|left|160px|''<small><nowiki>''Leave, never return because the next time we meet, I'll take more than an arm away.''</nowiki></small>'']]
  +
Misaki was wrathful with what he had done, blanched with betrayal at his change of character. She was sickened by his words and utterly heartbroken with his explanations of his unforgivable deed. Seething, Misaki ordered him to leave and never return. She threatened him to never appear again for their next encounter would be his death.
  +
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 9.jpg|thumb|right|170px|''<small>Misaki realizing the loss.</small>'']]
  +
Because he was in such intense pain, {{nw|Itachi Uchiha|Itachi}} heeded her words and fled. Only when his chakra disappeared into the outskirts of the village, Misaki let her face crack into pure anguish as she pulled Sasuke closer with her free hand, a broken sob escaping her quivering lips.
  +
  +
=====Post Massacre=====
  +
The first thing Misaki sought out to do was find {{nw|Fugaku Uchiha|Fugaku}} and {{nw|Mikoto Uchiha|Mikoto}}. It was timely anyways and because if everything went according to the plan in her head, this would be the only chance she had to be able to bid farewell to them in private. She slung Sasuke over her shoulder and started walking down the main road. Misaki definitely had Fugaku’s residences marked, but couldn’t bring herself to be efficient and teleport. She moved at an agonizing pace, feeling wrecked as she recognized many of the dead civilian bodies littered across the street. It was tormenting coming across the faces of the Uchiha shinobi she knew or worked with before, but Misaki still dutifully shut the eyelids of the ones that were opened, hating for that to fall under the hands of complete strangers.
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 14.png|thumb|left|150px|''<small>Misaki finding their bodies and breaking down.</small>'']]
  +
  +
Misaki’s heart was filled with excruciating pain as she knelt beside the dead bodies of Fugaku and Mikoto. It was impossible to fit her speech with the sorrow and regret she felt, but she vowed to protect the remains of their clan and look after their son Sasuke with her life. She thanked them for the lifelong loyalty, generosity and kindness that they showed her. She wanted to continue weeping but thinking of Sasuke; she refused to have that pity party and after that, right away sounded the Hokage alarm, teleporting to the emergency meeting room in the tower before the rest.
  +
[[File:Misaki Ryuketsu 11.jpg|thumb|right|150px|''<small>Misaki explaining what happened to the Sandaime.</small>'']]
  +
Almost eveything she had told Sadaime was true, except for how Itachi managed to leave the village after it. She threw his dead hand to the ground in disgust as if it was filth, apologizing and feigning incompetence for his escape. {{nw|Hiruzen Sarutobi|Sandaime}} was too keen for her lies because she hadn't a single physical trauma on her, but ignored it seeing that she permanently wounded Itachi anyways on his way out. He did not punish her like she offered to be, but imposed full responsibility on her in managing Sasuke and the last of their affairs as the '''Uchiha-Ryuketsu bond''' dictated it to be. Misaki was hardly unfazed by it, and was instead tremendously grateful to be the one supervising the order with her own hands. She expressed gratitude to the Hokage for his gracious spirit, and did not let Sasuke off her shoulder the entire time.
  +
  +
Not only was the Uchiha Clan massacre a first-time tragedy of its kind, it was also committed by a homegrown terrorist. It was a very sensitive military issue, so not many individuals were involved. Misaki’s other ANBU members and trusted medical unit oversaw the dead body cleanup, and {{nw|Shikaku Nara|Shikaku}} stepped in to help supervise until she’d be able to stabilize Sasuke’s medical status.
  +
  +
It was difficult having to explain and adjust to Sasuke’s situation with Naruto alone, so she was profoundly relieved to sense Kakashi’s chakra in the village a day after the massacre. She wrapped him into a tearful hug when he arrived home, shaking from head to toe. She was not surprised to have him receive the news from the Hokage, but still accordingly provide him with her own accounts of the event, this time in complete truth.
  +
  +
Kakashi was without a doubt extremely hurt and angry at Itachi’s betrayal, but he was curious more than anything to why Misaki did what she did instead of capturing him to face justice. Misaki agreed that there were assuredly more disadvantages to letting Itachi roam as a rogue ninja. But because she wanted Sasuke to have the sole satisfaction of slaughtering the animal the way he wanted to, she ultimately spared and let Itachi go. Misaki did not regret her decision, but there was also unmistakable woe on her face despite Kakashi's comforting hand, knowing that she had also likely signed the death sentences of other shinobi by allowing him to escape from the village.

''It is our choice to be shinobi, but that shouldn't stop us from grieving the dead.''

Misaki Ryuketsu (流血美咲, Ryuketsu Misaki) is the last surviving member of the Ryuketsu Clan. Upon Tsunade's ascension to the throne of Hokage, she became the youngest ANBU supreme commander in Konoha history at the age of 26, after 13 years of service in the task force. She is renowned all over the shinobi world for her formidable partnership with Minato Namikaze, receiving the title Konoha’s Double Flash (木の葉のダブルフラッシュ). After his death, she attains her own title, the Konoha's Flashing Flicker (木の葉の点滅ちらつき). She is the godmother of Naruto Uzumaki as well as the adoptive mother of Sasuke Uchiha alongside Kakashi Hatake, which makes them the Pillars Of The Prophecy (予言の柱).

Appearances

Uniforms

Personal Style

When Misaki is not in uniforms, her own taste is rather dull, evident by her reliance on uniforms and disinterest in elaborate fads. Her wardrobe only had comfortable and simple items in dark neutral colors, though it was displayed more apparently when she was a lot younger. Loose t-shirts, shorts and sweatpants were constant reappearances when she was at home, choices that stuck with her until present day.

Misaki Ryuketsu 13

Younger Misaki wearing Obito's jacket gift.

General

Misaki has the most stereotypical looks of a Japanese female as a child and a woman. While her body underwent its natural growth processes, the larger part of her features remained unchanged. She has an extremely good-looking father, but had not inherited much of his gold-worthy facial genetics and was instead somewhat thrown awkwardly between both her parents. Unfortunately, by Konoha's standards, Misaki looked boring, unless she was using her Blood Release: The Gift of Aphrodite.

Physical Description

Face

Misaki's face and eyebrows had always been on the thinner side, accompanied by her crisply sharpened nose and V-shaped jaw that outlined her youthful and clean skin, indicating some luck she had with her appearances. Though it doesn't mean that she has not experience skin troubles, for milia, peeling and dehydration happens to her when she undergoes intense stress or changes in weather conditions.

Body

Being a shinobi is an extremely physically demanding and taxing line of work, requiring immense physical engagement ranging from completing missions, training, or defending the village. Despite so, Misaki suffer more exertion than her colleagues just by her workload alone. She had only managed to enjoy simple missions with Team Minato for a short period of time before she was assigned to more difficult and dangerous missions on a frequent basis. Her job only became more loaded whenshe rose to become the supreme commander of The Anbu Black Ops.

Misaki Ryuketsu 12

Misaki's body.

Body Language

Body Movement and Posture

From an outsider’s perspective, when they see Misaki on the battlefield as Konoha’s Flashing Flicker, behind Tsunade as the supreme commander of the ANBU Black Ops, or even just training, her body and demeanor is tremendously hard, firm and unyielding with a composure that seem unbreakable even at the face of despair. A true embodiment of stark and uncompromising severity, she is filled with an alertness that is scary even for individuals in her line of work. In fact, it becomes even more intense during crucial situations like on the eve of battle or when she receives directives from her superiors.

Her Face and Eyes

Misaki Ryuketsu Eyes

Misaki's Eyes.

Misaki’s most unique physical characteristic are her deep and dark crimson red eyes, an emblematic sign of great power and deep blood sensing ability in her clan. Besides her, only Akane Ryuketsu had been known to possess such eyes, and even then, they were visually impaired.

Misaki Ryuketsu 3

Misaki's 'poker face'.

It digressed tenfolds when Minato and Kushina died during the Nine Tails Attack, where her face became the stone that people denigrated where she came from. At best, the trained eye could make out the maturity, grief, tiredness, and the occasional blankness etched into her skin (when relaxed). When that does happen, Tsunade would see Shizuhiro flicker in her gaze.

Body Marks

Misaki has the regular ANBU tattoo imprinted on the top of her left bicep, but the most noticeable body mark she has is her hypertrophic scar. It's wide, thick, long and resembles a star-shaped neuron that covers the entirety of the inner side of her right arm. The injury was caused by the amaterusu flames that Tobi inflicted on her during the Nine-Tails attack.

Background

Post-Third Shinobi World War

Rin's Death

After Rin's Death

Misaki was at her breaking point. It was torturous, having to simultaneously cope with her own sorrow and having coordinated mental attacks from the grief of her other family members slicing her like glass shards for a full length of two weeks. She nearly cried tears of relief once she felt Minato and Kushina’s sadness started to dim into a dull knife, but only to have Kakashi’s despair turn into a coarser red in her mental array.

Enlistment

Misaki arrived home from a lengthy three-week solo mission when she picked up the news. As the last of the Ryuketsu, she was aware of her additional shinobi constitutional duties: a mandatory ANBU enrollment as well as to the Interrogation Task Force for a rough two year period. She had wondered before when it would come for her, because from her age, she had no further reason to not be drafted into active duty. But she also knew that her godparents aimed to abolish that piece of law since they rose to power, and that they would rally every legislative support they could find to do it.

Minato and Kushina were clearly crushed, having failed to muster enough political power to turn the tide around for Misaki. They despaired about it, because it was also something they wanted badly to honor Shizuhiro and Shizuku’s names.

Misaki Ryuketsu 1

'I'm not afraid.'

Misaki did her best to console, reassure and comfort her godparents. She embraced it with grace, simultaneously filling their hearts with more angst as she was always the one that salvaged the best from dreadful times.

Misaki Ryuketsu 2

'Kakashi...'

Misaki did not fear it anymore than she did the job of a jōnin, and felt more than ready to serve her godfather who was the Hokage of the village in the ANBU ranks proudly. In fact, she displayed a much more apparent anxiety on how she’ll give the news to the other last member of Team Minato, Kakashi in regards to her enlistment because it meant that she’ll be segregated away from him.[1]

Misaki Ryuketsu 6

On the other hand, Kakashi anticipated Misaki’s disagreement the moment he decided to enter the team, and argued back, thoroughly offended at her position despite being objectively true and painfully correct. His hot-headedness outlasted her, that simply refused the idea of her being alone in a predicament of such without him being able to have her back. Misaki was brimmed with fiery emotion as she engulfed him in a tight hug after his emotional rebuttal, but Kakashi could only relax in it, because it meant that he won the important argument in spite of her angry dissent.

Part I

Uchiha Clan Massacre

Misaki was well and exhausted by the end of her two week S-ranked mission. Being tasked to protect more than one client of that importance drained her far worse than being a seeker or hunter. Moreover, having to solve additional leadership hassles subsequently after that always seemed to exacerbate her weariness to the core. Being able to put her godson, Naruto to bed, lightened her mood considerably but in all honesty; she missed Kakashi and wished he was with her, but he was outposted on a mission on his own and would not be back for another several days at least.

Misaki would have loved to go to bed, but her Blood Release suddenly inflamed to a terrible proportion that she had not felt before in her own village, and it startled her to have it directly come from the Uchiha compound. It was a sense of foreboding she could not ignore. She trusted the battle skill of any Uchiha shinobi with her own life (as Itachi and the late Shisui came to mind), but brought along her sword with her anyways. It only took her a few seconds to arrive at the Uchiha Compound by performing her Flying Thunder God Technique. Because she interacted with the Uchihas so often on a professional and personal basis, it was convenient to have their lodgings specifically marked down in her books.

Misaki Ryuketsu 8

Misaki arriving at the compound.

Misaki Ryuketsu 7

Misaki severing Itachi's arm off in a single clean slash.

Misaki’s protective instincts instantly took over as she took the chance to carry Sasuke’s limp body away to create some distance between Itachi and them. In some way, she was already too late as Itachi already performed the Tsukiyomi on him. Sasuke was clearly still distraught from the experience, but relief colored his cheeks once he perceived her presence beside him. Misaki was absolutely revolted to see the Mangekyō Sharingan used like this. She urgently needed to talk to Itachi alone, so she knocked Sasuke to sleep, quietly and gently with an apology at the end. Combat-wise, for the moment, she did not feel insecure of her position. With his current injury and low chakra levels, Itachi was unlikely to pose a serious threat to her.

Misaki Ryuketsu 10

''Leave, never return because the next time we meet, I'll take more than an arm away.''

Misaki Ryuketsu 9

Misaki realizing the loss.

Because he was in such intense pain, Itachi heeded her words and fled. Only when his chakra disappeared into the outskirts of the village, Misaki let her face crack into pure anguish as she pulled Sasuke closer with her free hand, a broken sob escaping her quivering lips.

Post Massacre

The first thing Misaki sought out to do was find Fugaku and Mikoto.

Misaki Ryuketsu 14

Misaki finding their bodies and breaking down.

Misaki Ryuketsu 11

Misaki explaining what happened to the Sandaime.

Almost eveything she had told Sadaime was true, except for how Itachi managed to leave the village after it. She threw his dead hand to the ground in disgust as if it was filth, apologizing and feigning incompetence for his escape. Sandaime was too keen for her lies because she hadn't a single physical trauma on her, but ignored it seeing that she permanently wounded Itachi anyways on his way out. He did not punish her like she offered to be, but imposed full responsibility on her in managing Sasuke and the last of their affairs as the Uchiha-Ryuketsu bond dictated it to be. Misaki was hardly unfazed by it, and was instead tremendously grateful to be the one supervising the order with her own hands. She expressed gratitude to the Hokage for his gracious spirit, and did not let Sasuke off her shoulder the entire time.

Not only was the Uchiha Clan massacre a first-time tragedy of its kind, it was also committed by a homegrown terrorist. It was a very sensitive military issue, so not many individuals were involved. Misaki’s other ANBU members and trusted medical unit oversaw the dead body cleanup, and Shikaku stepped in to help supervise until she’d be able to stabilize Sasuke’s medical status.

Personality

‘‘You and Nee-san never talked about that day.’’ Kakashi could not meet his eyes, his heart pounding fiercely in his chest and the terror was still well coated in his throat. It was a tragedy more than ten years ago, but the shame and sorrow still broke open as easily as the day after it. ‘Our other ANBU comrades that were tasked to protect your mother with us perished under Tobi’s hand. Misaki was burned alive by the Amaterusu flames, and so only managed to save me through her Blood Release.’’ Naruto’s eyes turned murky with nausea. ‘‘Wasn’t it an inextinguishable flame?’’ Kakashi regarded him with as much calm as he could, but could not disguise the swirling melancholy in his voice. ‘I believe that there is no one alive to tell the same tale as her. The scar is proof of it. If it had been any other attack that day, it would have turned out very differently. It is a fact that haunts her to this day.’’
