The ANBU (暗部; English TV "ANBU Black Ops"; Literally meaning "Dark Side") are entrusted users appointed by the Sysop to aid them in their duty. These users have access to ‘helpful’ tools, such as;
- They have all privileges from the rollback groups and also have the ability to:
- Delete pages, page histories, files etc.
- Rename files.
- Revert bad edits more easily using a "rollback" link.
- Block an IP address or user name from editing.
The ANBU does not have the ability to promote users to enable privileges. That can only be done by a Sysop.
Responsibilities
- All ANBU have the block ability, however. This ability may only be used against trolls and vandalisms. Using block for other circumstances will need to be discussed with a Sysop.
- The ANBU have been chosen by the Sysop to help them out in their duty, and so, ‘must’ aid the Sysop in their duty.
- Depending on the Sysop, the ANBU has the right to judge the application in the absence of the said Sysop.
How do you become an ANBU?
- The Sysop can appoint a certain amount of ANBU, which depends on their position. Do not ask to become an ANBU.
