History[]
The mighty Natoro Clan was the force behind the founding of Kemonogakure in the Land of Beasts. The Natoro have always prided themselves with their closeness to animals, saying "only the true greats are allowed to hold the heart of the beast without being bitten." The Natoro grew along with Kemonogakure, their histories are one and the same.
Culture[]
The Natoro are generally a happy people, often found smiling and laughing with various animals at their sides. Even in times of war, the Natoro have always managed a smile. While they do experience grief and sadness, they simply believe that it is better to "wash one's hands with happiness." Much of the happiness comes from the use of the Clan Kekkei Genkai, the Tongue of Beasts, which enables the bearer to communicate with beasts of any sort both verbally and mentally. Every member of the Clan possesses this Kekkei Genkai and due to this on missions they often speak to amongst themselves in the language of their animal of preference to prevent orders or delicate information being intercepted by spies of opposing forces.
Member Appearance[]
The dominant hair color of the Natoro is a deep black, although the occasional blondes and brunettes have been known to appear. The Natoro themselves vary greatly from member to member in terms of physical appearance, some are towering giants while others stand far below average height. The Natoro tend to have physical traits similar to that of their "animal of preference".
Kekkei Genkai[]
The Kekkei Genkai of the Natoro Clan is known as the "Tongue of the Beasts" which enables every member to communicate with any animal of any species both mentally and verbally. While every member is born with the "Tongue of the Beasts" each adapts differently and as such possess differing levels of skill. There have been a notable cases of clan members losing their hold on their sanity due to either being unable to cope with the constant voices and thoughts of the animals and insects around them or being unable to shut the voices out of their minds. While this occurrence isn't exactly commonplace it is prevalent enough for each child to be under close scrutiny during their beginning years to keep an eye on how they fare. For a Natoro possessing average skill in using their Kekkei Genkai the mental communication of this technique is possible but only under two circumstances, either when they've formed a strong bond with the target in question or the target opens themselves to the contact. Those possessing mastery the Tongue of the Beasts' intricacies are capable of not only mentally communicating with those they have no bond with but also forcefully breaking into the minds of their target, the success or failure of which is dependent upon the target's mental fortitude.
