The Parasitic Destruction Insect Technique is a practice exclusive to the Aburame Clan. When children are born into the clan, their bodies are offered to insects to be used as a nest. Over the years, as the child grows up, they are instructed in the secret techniques of the clan, and learn how the insects may serve them in combat. Most Aburame are inhabited by Kikaichū, however, the clan does not limit themselves to the use of one type of insect. Some members of the clan like Torune, Shikuro Aburame and Ume instead have Nano-Sized, Venomous Insects, a rare type of insect even within the Aburame clan. Shino was also shown to host another unique insect in his body called the Kidaichū, an insect he note was problematic to host in his body because of its characteristics. Shinan Aburame was also host to two fairly rare breeds of insects, the Tetsuchū and the Nenshōchū.

Even though not a member of the Aburame Clan, Gyobu Uchiha who is part Kamizuru, hosts the Devil's Hornets inside of him so he can use an extension of this technique.
