The Penetrative Insight (眼光炯, Gankōkei) is an innovative and highly useful offshoot of the Sharingan's abilities of insight developed by Hidari with Kazuhide's assistance. Through extreme focus in both of his eyes, Kotoshiro distributes the eye's functions — through his mastery of the Sharingan's abilities — so as to have his left eye employ its genjutsu abilities, while his right eye focuses on his insight. His left eye peers into the subconscious of the opponent, enabling him to read all of their thoughts, while his right eyes enables him to visualize the opponent's most minute muscle movements. With these two in tandem, Kotoshiro can quite literally map exactly what moves an opponent can make before they even make them, enabling him to counter each and every one of them flawlessly — should he have the ability to do so — and therefore make quick work of his adversary. Notably, Kotoshiro only uses this sparingly due to the concentration required from both of his eyes.
