Family

Rei Hitomu (ひとむ れい, Hitomu Rei) was the father of Akira Hitomu and the husband of Akane Hitomu. He died on a mission, and it was later revealed that he and his wife were killed by Tobi.

Background

Rei met and married Akane Hitomu and eventually had a daughter, Akira Hitomu, whom quickly became precious. While his wife taught Akira to be gentle, but independent, Rei taught her the history of Konohagakure and even told her of her own role in the stability of Konoha, and told her that she too would become a pillar for which Konoha would have to lean on. Not only did he teach her the history of Konoha and the significance of a shinobi, he also taught her the many clans that support Konoha and of the Kage.

However, around the time Akira was nine, Rei and Akane were set on a mission that they never came back from, and their bodies were late found. It was revealed later that Tobi had killed them for still unknown reasons.

Personality

Rei is best described as being a loyal, gentle man with a intense sense of loyalty and the effects of a single person's actions, believing that shinobi acted as a pillars for villages to stand on. He expresses a solid interest in passing this onto his daughter, as he also believes, quite strongly, in the Will of Fire and that the next generation will surpass the before generation.

He was known for being gentle towards his family and comrades and extremely protective over them, which manifested as a fierce, cruel battle "personality". This caused him to fight strongly, and for the purpose of protecting those he loved.

Appearance

Rei's eyes

Rei was a youthful young man whom greatly resembled Madara Uchiha. He had long black hair that extended to his mid-back, and light gold/yellow eyes. He was typically seen with a mischievous glint in his eyes or a smile. He was considered handsome for a man in his late-thirties.

Rei typically wore a short-sleeved black tunic and loose matching pants, allowing for the ANBU tattoos he possessed on his leg and bicep to be shown. Due to being a member of the ANBU, he didn't wear a flak jacket or a forehead protector. However, he retained black shinobi sandals.

Plot

While Rei was never a present character, he alongwith his wife were candidates for reincarnation, as mentioned by Kabuto Yakushi.

Trivia
