Shadow of the Ghost (幽霊の影, Yūrei no Kage) is one of the most basic applications of the Ghost Kata and is used to swiftly position the user behind an opponent, within their blindspot. Typically speaking, prior to initiating this tactic, the user will first employ a displacementtechnique in order to effectively conceal their presence from both the naked eye and from perception by dojutsu. Then, the tactic is initiated through the combination of silent and swift movement, which will result in the user's "nearly spontaneous" appearance within the opponent's blindspot. From this position, the user can quickly eliminate an opponent and can even repeat this tactic numerous times in order to eliminate a large number of adversaries lost within the displacement technique.
