Shokusame Hoshigaki (Hoshigaki Shokusame) is the current Mizukage and head of the Hoshigaki Clan.
Shokusame is chiefly remembered for a calm, peaceful reign that contributed to changing Kirigakure's public image, which ended in losing its name of the "Bloody Mist".
Background[]
As a child, Shokusame took part in the village's barbaric ritual where Academy Students would be forced to kill each other in order to graduate. Shokusame would eventually join the Cypher Division under the guidance of the Third Mizukage, however during a mission where they were ordered to kidnap the jinchūriki of the Three-Tails, Isobu, for the personal use of the Mizukage, Shokusame realized the corruption of the Mizukage and the hold they had on their village and betrayed the Cypher Division by killing them in their sleep, going into hiding with the Jinchūriki.
Early Life[]
During the next couple of years the two created a rebellion within and around Kirigakure, a small poor organizatio at the time that caused several protests within the surrounding area. Despite the group's lack of funds, the group became more and more famous, enough to get their own entries in the Kirigakure Bingo Book. As time passed, The Third Mizukage began to feel threatened by their presence and contacted the group, offering to work together with them to help negotiate better terms. However during their meeting to finalise the arrangement, the group were ambushed by the Mizukage, the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, and other Kirigakure Shinobi, this ambush resulted in the death of many on both sides of the conflict however must importantly to Shokusame this ambush resulted in the death of the Jinchūriki who acted as the leader during that time. Shokusame would take the role as the leader after this event and his hatred for the Mizukage only grew. With his leadership the village slowly began to support him and his group, although sometimes through conflict, causing many lives by the hands of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist.

Appearance[]
Shokusame has marble blue eyes, shoulder-length, grey-colored hair, and pointed, shark-like teeth, a trait that members of the Hoshigaki Clan possess.
When he was younger his outfit consisted of a black, sleeveless shirt, light-blue-colored pants, and striped leg-warmers typical of his village. He wore bandages around his neck, a trait shared by the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and the standard Kirigakure forehead protector.
After becoming Mizukage Shokusame wears a similar outfit to that he used to wear, now combined with the traditional Mizukage hat and outfit at all times.
