Storm Release (嵐遁, Ranton, Viz: Gale Style or Storm Style) is a nature transformation kekkei genkai that combines lightning and water-based chakra to create energy beams that can be guided towards the enemy. This kekkei genkai has shown to be wielded by several Kumo-nin, the most notable of which is Darui.

Another version of Storm Release allows the user to actually produce and manipulate storm clouds as demonstrated by Hiruko when he stole this kekkei genkai from an unknown shinobi.[1]

Storm Release: Black Lightning, the best example of Storm Release.

In Naruto: A Shinobi Story, Storm Release manifests as Darui describes as “storm clouds in the form of lightning, loud as a thousand strikes of thunder.” This earned it the moniker Storm Cloud Lightning (雷雲の稲妻, Raiun no Inazuma)[2] which gives it the properties of both lightning and water simultaneously and is best used against Fire, Water, Earth Release but is either weak against, or can be countered by, most by Wind Release and other, more obscure kekkei genkai techniques.
