Tensei Uzumaki (うずまき転生, Uzumaki Tensei) is a Shinobi of the late Uzumaki Clan and cousin to Naruto since his mother was Adela Uzumaki, the sister to Kushina Uzumaki. His father is not really known, but it is known that he was from the Sarutobi Clan. This makes him by blood the cousin of Naruto Uzumaki, a sort of nephew to Hiruzen Sarutobi and relative to Konohamaru Sarutobi. Tensei is known by his title of "The One Above All" (何よりも優れた者, The One Above All) since of his innate affinity as a prodigy and his immense skill which is perfect. He is considered by many as the only one equal if not surpassing Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha combined. His goal is simple, he wants to carry his legacy to the next generation and have a successor even stronger than him.
Background[]
The Konoha Hospital, where Tensei was born
Tensei was born in the Konoha Hospital in Konohagakure on January 15th to Adela Uzumaki and an unknown Sarutobi father. He lost his parents though during the attack of the Nine-Tails Fox when he was only 1 year old, to which the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi decided to place him together with his cousin, Naruto Uzumaki, as to make sure both children could grow together and be friends for each other. But also, since Naruto was under ANBU protection, they would also guard Tensei since of a very peculiar factor: Tensei's sheer potential. On the day Tensei was born, everyone in the room could feel the sheer amount of potential and power the child would have despite being seconds old. They could feel his sheer chakra reserves and when he first opened his eyes, the shimmering blue irises sparkled like two pure sapphire gems.
It was clear by just a glance the child that he was destined for greatness. So, many other enemy villages of Konohagakure, especially Kumogakure, who tried multiple attempts to steal the child to raise it as their own to be their greatest Shinobi to take down any enemy who dared oppose them. Growing up with Naruto, both boys had fun and played their usual mischief: but unlike Naruto, Tensei was a natural prodigy at all he did and just was better, stronger and just unmatched by anyone in the Academy, much to the jealousy of most boys, especially Sasuke Uchiha.

Tensei's personality is quite a bit layered compared to the usual front he presents to people. On the outside, Tensei appears nonchalant, laidback, cocky, a tad bit arrogant and also a bit mischievous at times with a streak of childish. He doesn't appear to take anything seriously on the outside and just loves to laze around and relax, at times falling asleep at the most random of moments. He also loves to just be nonchalant and casual, not really having any care in the world, even when facing opponents: which many have called him cocky and arrogant for.
But deep down, Tensei is actually a surprisingly variable emotional person. He is very clever, quick-thinking, tactical and having connections with people. He is one of the few friends Naruto had his whole life in the village, way before either of them started the Academy and even though the people of the village treated Naruto like a monster, Tensei always stuck by him and stood up for him. His reputation as the strongest doesn't get to his head, since he actually is friendly and very approachable.

Overall Power Level[]
True to his reputation, Tensei is widely regarded as one of if not the strongest Shinobi in history, equalling Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha combined and maybe even rivalling Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki in terms of overall skill and power. He is widely regarded as the greatest prodigy produced by Konoha, to the point most other villages and the 4 other great Nations don't want to antagonize the village as to get in Tensei's radars. Even from a young age at the Academy, Tensei showed skills that would make even Jōnin like Kakashi Hatake and Asuma Sarutobi surprised at his sheer skill and innate proficiency to almost anything he tried. He is quite the child prodigy, dwarfing the likes of Itachi Uchiha in terms of score when graduating the Academy and even in feats.
Its a mix of his prodigious nature and his skills, making him quite the Shinobi and living legend.
Chakra Reserves and Physical Prowess[]
Tensei's chakra reserves
As an Uzumaki and Sarutobi, Tensei has immensely deep chakra reserves which dwarf most Shinobi and even the likes of Naruto, Hiruzen and Asuma. He can fight for extremely long extended periods of time before running out, handling multiple foes at the same time while keeping his chakra control precisely as to not run out of chakra. His chakra is described as a very potent force, compared to a massive tsunami or even an earthquake. Its even higher than Jiraiya when the Sannin is in Sage Mode when Tensei is in base form.
In terms of physicality, despite his lean physique, he has surprising physical attributes. Its at the level where he can keep up and even surpass Rock Lee when Lee had opened the Fifth Gate, keep up in a spar against Might Guy, move faster than Kakashi's Sharingan could track, block a punch from Tsunade with no effort, fight on even terrain with Madara Uchiha when the latter was the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki, break free from Itachi's genjutsu with just perception and fight Orochimaru as a Genin when during the Chūnin Exams at the Forest of Death. He is stated to be on a class of his own when it comes to physical prowess.
Ninjutsu[]
Tensei's ninjutsu is on a par of perfection, able to weave hand signs with subconscious ease at a speed faster than average Shinobi with surgical accuracy and precision. No action is wasted at all and with his chakra reserves including his chakra control, his jutsu are stronger than most with lower chakra costs. This allows him to fight for longer while spending less chakra than his opponents, meaning he can outlast most in combat.
Also, since of his skill level, he never really uses his full strength or use most of his chakra. He always had most of his chakra left unused and the only time he went all out was against Ten-Tails Jinchūriki Madara Uchiha during the Fourth Shinobi World War where the historical battle between the strongest shinobi of the past against the strongest shinobi of the present.
Wind Release[]
Tensei's Bugendai
Tensei's natural affinity is Wind Release, despite the fact he mastered all five Nature Transformations. Since of his chakra control, he has made a new technique: a sort of barrier jutsu he invented. Bugendai (無限大, Bugendai) or Infinity when translated where by infusing his chakra in the air surrounding him or others, he manipulates it in a way where the closer an attack gets, the higher the density the air becomes to the point where motion becomes impossible: effectively stopping the attack dead in its tracks. This allows him to be untouchable in battle since he can control this at will.
Taijutsu[]
For taijutsu, Tensei's taijutsu rivals and possibly surpasses Might Guy by natural skill, training and prodigious nature. Rock Lee even declared Tensei as his rival since of how good Tensei is, much to Tensei's amusement and allowing the rivalry as to make Lee push beyond his limits to surpass him one day. His taijutsu was on par to keep Madara on equal terms in battle, take on the Six Paths of Pain with Naruto when they attacked the village.
Dōjutsu[]
Tensei's eyes
Tensei's eyes are a shimmering light but, looking like polished sapphires. Their special ability has earned them their own class a dōjutsu despite not being of any bloodline or kekkei genkai. It has been called the Ugan (ウガン, Ugan) meaning "Space's Eye". The speciality of these eyes are in two abilities: chakra sensing and chakra control.
The chakra sensing ability of the Ugan is that it's constantly 24/7 giving Tensei a different type of vision than others. He sees the world by chakra sensing, as in he can see chakra in both the nature and the chakra within people. This is why it's impossible to sneak up on him since he can see chakra. It's so potent that as a child, he would constantly get migraines due to his eyes working so well, so he later learned to deal with it by wearing a blindfold. As he sees by chakra, he doesn't lose his sight but he doesn't get sensory overload either.
The second ability in chakra control is that it grants Tensei the ability to manipulate his chakra down to the subatomic level. This ability at first doesn't seem to interesting, but that allows him to control chakra down to its very essence within him. He can do jutsu more powerful than others without expanding the amount of chakra most do: meaning he lasts longer without getting winded when most other Shinobi would be out of chakra.
Intelligence[]
As a child prodigy, despite his casual laidback demeanour and appearance, Tensei is undoubtably smart and sharp on the battlefield. He rivals Shikamaru in terms of intelligence and surpasses him when it comes to quick thinking and creating strategies on the fly in the midst of battles. He always weighs his options and analyzes his enemies as to not be caught off guard or be outsmarted since he knows that just being the strongest doesn't always guarantee a sure win.
And since of his laidback demeanour, he can't exactly be manipulated emotionally or let his emotions get in the way. His emotions are always under control, unlike someone like Hashirama who has quick changes of emotions.

Part I[]
Tensei in Part I
In Part I, Tensei is 13 years old. He stands at 5.5 feet tall, a lithe build but with some lean muscle to it. His hair is snow white, his irises being shimmering light blue and his skin being a soft pale. He usually wear a blue shirt, black pants, black ninja sandals and his Konoha headband. At this age, most girls drooled and fawned over his very handsome features: Sakura, Ino, Tenten and even Hinata slightly.
Part II[]
Tensei in Part II
In Part II, Tensei has grown up to 17 years old and standing at 6 feet tall. His build has become leaner with defined muscles, but not bulky. He also changed his attire to a black high collar jacket, black pants, black ninja sandals, his Konoha headband and the black blindfold over his eyes, which props his hair up in a spiky way. He has become even more handsome, much to the girls delight. Even Shizune and the likes of Tsunade noticed how handsome he is.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations[]
Tensei in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Kensei has now become 34 years old. He is now at 6.2 feet tall and is even more handsome than in Part II. His attire switched now to a tight-fitting black shirt, white baggy training pants with a black belt weaved through the waist, and black martial arts slippers. He discarded his blindfold since he learned how to tune his brain to his eyes so that he doesn't get overloaded anymore, letting his hair fall back down. His Konoha headband is now strapped to his left bicep.
He also married and settled down with Shizune, having a son now: Aiko Uzumaki and is an elite Jōnin, a living legend in the Shinobi world as one of the strongest. His main goal now is for his son to surpass him and carry his legacy.
Part I[]
Prologue — Land of Waves[]
Kakashi meeting Team 7
After graduating the Academy besides his cousin Naruto, they are placed in a team by Iruka with Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha under Kakashi Hatake. While they were waiting in the classroom, Sakura was eyeing both Sasuke and Tensei, Naruto was setting up the eraser for the prank, Sasuke was brooding as ever with that emo vibe and Tensei was relaxing in his seat. Eventually, Kakashi would slide the door open just for the eraser to fall on his head with a small "poof". Naruto burst out laughing, the blonde-haired boy was going through fits of laughter. Sasuke just sighed and Sakura was already rolling up her sleeves to punch some sense in his noggin'.
Tensei on the other hand held back a chuckle in his seat. He didn't expect anything less from his cousin but he managed to keep a straight face. After all, they just meet the Jōnin for the first time. Everything about him was sort of intimidating in a way but in a more relaxed casual way: Tensei wondered if the man was even carefree. But when he did speak, his tone of voice did confirm it. He basically just introduced himself by saying his name to the three Genin and told them they'd continue the meet-and-great outside under the sun since it was a cloudless mild weather outside and just to take advantage of it.
So, all five members headed out, the four children following Kakahsi to a spot where they sat on stairs while Kakahsi leaned on a railing. After a comfortable short moment of silence, Kakashi asked for each to introduce themselves, their likes and dislikes and their dreams. Naruto, boisterous and energetic as ever, started with his introduction: Naruto Uzumaki, loves ramen and Sakura, hates Sasuke and wants to be Hokage. Sasuke barely flinched at that one, but Sakura was already grinding her teeth. Kakashi, taking an almost ghostly quiet breath to not let the boy's energy get to him motioned for someone else to go. Sasuke went next: Sasuke Uchiha, last of the Uchiha, hates everything, likes nothing and wants to grow stronger to destroy a certain someone and restore his Clan. Sakura followed: Sakura Haruno, she loved Sasuke along with Tensei and hates Naruto. Kakashi, noticing the only one left was Tensei invited the boy to say somethings about himself. So, Tensei complied: Tensei Uzumaki, loves being with friends and relaxing, wants to grow strong and forge a legacy for his future child to carry and surpass and dislikes being the centre of attention much since he didn't want to shadow anyone else. Kakashi ended the meeting by telling the others to be at the training grounds the next day with their ninja gear, and advised them not to have breakfast.

The next day, Kakashi arrived at the training grounds last, four hours later than planned. Kakashi then explained how the evaluation would work: it would be a survival battle, in which the aim was for each of the prospective students to take one of two bells from Kakashi. Anyone who didn't get a bell before noon would receive no lunch, which, as the others realized, was why he'd told them not to have breakfast. Naruto could already feel his stomach rumbling in protest, he really regretted not having ate that ramen. Furthermore, he added that since there were only two bells: one of them would be sent back to the Academy and stripped of the rank as Genin.
With that, he informed them to do this test with the intensity to kill him before wishing them good luck before pulling out a book to read: signalling the test started. Naruto, overconfident as ever, assumed Kakashi was not as strong as others claimed and came rushing in with a punch, that Kakashi easily ducked under without even looking away from his book. For every attack Naruto threw, Kakashi dodged with ease before ending up behind Naruto and hitting him with A Thousand Years of Death right in the rear, sending poor Naruto flying into the nearby lake with a loud splash. Tensei winced in sympathy, he would be feeling that for a few days every time he sit or bend down. Kakashi, with a slight wave and chuckle under his mask, vanished away in a poof of smoke. Sasuke went in independently in the woods, searching for Kakashi while formulating his plan in his head, traversing the treetops and branches. Sakura was right behind him and was more focused on Sasuke than the tests. Tensei however, didn't really have to strain. He just looked around, his eyes seeing the world differently than others: he could see chakra and chakra flow. So just by focusing really, he recognized Kakashi's chakra in the midst of the nature chakra. Helping Naruto out of the water, they headed there with a plan: Naruto would make shadow clones as to distract Kakashi while Tensei would get in up close to sneak the bells.
Kakashi's Sharingan
With their plan in mind, the duo of boys landed stealthily on tree branches slightly above Kakashi. The Jōnin had probably reached an "interesting" part in the book since Tensei swore he could see a slight red in his cheeks, well what he could see of them beyond the mask, being tinged with a slight red that wasn't there before. Anyways, Tensei gave Naruto then nod and with the hand sign, Naruto created dozens of shadow clones of himself that all barrelled down at Kakashi. Kakashi, barely flinching, just casually side-stepped and dodged every clone with ease, it was almost embarrassing even. However, Tensei used it to his advantage by landing in a bush quietly, which was in the trajectory that Kakashi was backing up to. He just needed to wait, Kakashi was nearly in striking position. And then, when the time came, Kakashi was right in the range and he struck out, his fingers brushing against the bells. But it seems Kakashi was planned for this, because when he turned, Tensei saw that Kakashi had pushed his forehead protector off his left eye: he had a Sharingan.
Reading Tensei's movements, the man quickly spun out the way but Tensei wouldn't be shaken off that easy. He gave chase at Kakashi and engaged with him in taijutsu, true he wasn't Kakashi's level of experience but he wasn't no slouch either: his natural affinity for it and the basic knowledge he had gave Kakashi quite the surprise. So much so that the Jōnin had to focus on Tensei completely as to not get caught off guard since of the boy's skill: Hiruzen was true, Tensei had immense potential and growth if he could be giving a Shinobi like Kakashi a rough time in taijutsu. As Tensei received an opening and stretched his hand for the bell, a puff of smoke occurred and when it cleared, Tensei saw that instead of Kakashi, it was a log. A substitution jutsu.

Sasuke meanwhile had been stuck in Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique after his failed attack on Kakashi ended up in the sensei discovering his hiding spot. Sakura was currently KO since Kakashi had used Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique where she saw Sasuke mortally injured, of course it was just genjutsu. Naruto and Tensei were still on Kakashi's heels, Tensei's Ugan allowing him to track their sensei's chakra with ease.
The Jōnin in question was behind a tree, well-informed by Hiruzen on what his nephew could do: those eyes wouldn't let Kakashi stay hidden for long, they'd sense his chakra. It was quite surprising really when Kakashi thought about it, Tensei could track down any Shinobi or sense them by chakra. As Kakashi thought of a strategy, his Sharingan caught a glimpse of movement: Tensei and Naruto. Knowing he'd be found eventually, Kakashi decided to take advantage of the element of surprise he had so far and body flickered above the two boys with his leg cocked bag for a kick. However, as he went for the kick, Tensei vanished in a poof of smoke: it was a shadow clone. Kakashi turned back just in time to see Tensei coming down at him with his hand outstretch for the bells, he was between a rock and hard place now: Tensei up top and Naruto down below while Kakashi was in midair. So, he engaged with Tensei again while they were midair and boy did the Genin surprise him, its like Tensei was just born to be better than his peers, he was keeping up with Kakashi Hatake while just a fresh Genin that recently graduated. Not even Kakashi's Sharingan helped get advantage much to Tensei's Ugan. Naruto, having landed on a tree branch, used the opening Tensei gave him according to plan and jumped up: grabbing the both bells finally.
Kakashi had to admit, they did well. Sasuke had just arrived as Naruto grabbed the bells, carrying a still-unconscious Sakura. Maybe Kakashi overdid it slightly with the genjutsu. Thats when the sound of a loud rope cracking taught was heard, and much to Tensai's confusion: Naruto was caught in one of the most obvious snares known to man. Not even a child would fall for it, but seems Naruto would.
