After accumulating chakra at the base of his palm, Shinsui infuses it with his water-nature chakra and makes physical contact with his opponent; allowing him to channel his chakra through his target(S) body. This allows him to freely control the water-content of his target(s). Using this to his advantage, Shinsui then creates some distance between himself and the target as he performs "Yang Water" (壬, Jin) seal; which causes the target's body to rapidly lose their body water through their pores and mouth, in the form of profuse sweating and puking. This leads to them experiencing severing dehydration. While this dehydration process can be activated from a distance, close contact appears to be required for the implementation of the technique in the first place; which could be tricky when dealing with certain opponent(s).
Due to the user directly injecting his chakra into the victim and manipulating their body water, instead of expelling this water outside their system, Shinsui has found another way to make use of this technique.

Due to our skin, muscles, brain and joints containing a large amount of water, the act of water expulsion/forced dehydration results in the victim being inflicted with joint pain, dizziness, lethargy and skin irritation.
